I had a size 10EE from last year, the red and black 786. It was a little big so I ordered a 9.5EE from this year and it is way too small. The sizing seems to have changed. The local new balance stores don't carry this model so I'll have to order both a 9.5EEEE and a 10EE from of this years model to get the right fit. Not sure I will do that.

I have a regular size and these tennis shoes are too tight. If you are a regular, you may need to try wide size. I will be returning these.

This is the most disappointing sneaker I have ever owned. Not only is the width substantially narrower than its predecessors, the sneaker is poorly constructed offering you NO support on a tennis court. I am now nursing a sore lower and mid-back as a result of wearing this sneaker. I play tennis on a Har Tru surface. The clay not only sticks inside the groves on the bottom of the sneaker but also on the entire bottom making it impossible to push off or to stop quickly or firmly when running. If I did not know better I would think I purchased a dramatically inferior New Balance knock off. If this sneaker was being offered to you for free you would still be paying too much for it.

Never had a problem with 786 4E before. More than 10pair previously and all fit well right out of the box. Ordered twice of this model cause I thought maybe 1st pair was defective. Nope. Both fit way too tight and way too small. I hope the next model style is corrected

Ordered and received a 12 EE for my husband for playing pickleball. Needs a lightweight shoe and had been wearing this size and was comfortable. And now, the same size is too small for some reason. So, we ordered a 12 1/2 EE. Have gotten 2 separate emails saying they have received a new order and both times when I called, they said they didn't have that size in. So, am getting a little anxious wondering if we are ever going to get them. Have always been happy with Zappos in the past. Sure hope our opinion doesn't change.

Don't buy this shoe!! I usually wear size 13 wide shoes. The original one was too small and tight. Returned it and ordered the 14 double wide. They were even smaller and tighter! One shoe was smaller than the other even though they were both labelled correctly. The shoes were made in Indonesia. I wish manufacturing would come back to the USA...Thank you Zappos for making it so easy to buy and return shoes. Shame on you New Balance for your quality assurance - time to move to a "New Brand" instead.

The soles look like they will last but there is no way I can wear them that long. The toe area is not tall enough for a normal toe and the width is more like a d size. when I ordered a 4E. I ordered a half size longer than I normaly get and still the shoe fits really tight, in length and width.

Thankfully I went to try on the 786. One year ago I purchased the 10 1/2 EE 786 and they fit great. Today I just tried on the exact same size and I could barely get them on. The store did not have EEEE in stock. I have been wearing New Balance for 40 years. Time to rededicate yourselves to excellence.

These run more narrow than previous models. Had the same problem with 696 model, and had to retire them to yard work. After wearing these a few times, last night being the last my foot felt like it was broken this morning. Too narrow right across the knuckles of foot. Getting two pairs of 896 today, the last model that didn't hurt. I wear a size 8 EE, and have been wearing NB for years. NB, you really have to pay attention to the width in your wide sizes, now I'm stuck with another useless pair.

I normally wear a 10 1/2 4E. I needed to get a 1/2 size bigger for size. But the 4E was not a true 4E. It was way too narrow! If you need 4E width this is not the shoe for you.

I wear NB shoes because of the 4E widths. The former 786 was a great tennis shoe. (I bought 4 pair. I wear them out pretty quickly on tennis courts.) They stopped making that model (why I can't begin to guess), replaced with a shoe that that does not fit (definitely NOT a 10 4E), is shorter in height (so less support), and of exceptionally poor quality. For the first time in 20 years - & after buying more than 30 pair - I'm forced to look to other shoe brands for something that fits. How stupid is that!!!

The worst tennis shoes I've ever owned. New Balance may be the leader in monster truck rally attire, but they have no business on a tennis court.
I'd also recommend:
NB makes horrible shoes. I recommend any other brand
