I bought these for a trip to Iceland where I'll be doing some glacier hiking. I've been wearing around all week and they're very comfortable. I had tried a Keen boot, but my toe kept jamming in the front when walking downhill; even with 1/2 size up from my usual. I thought I needed the wide toe-box the Keens afforded. Turns out, the Salomon's are perfect for my foot shape (not as wide as I thought). The boot is taller in the laces to accommodate my higher arches, and keeps my foot firmly in place. It even has a slightly slimmer footprint but is much more comfortable/roomy. So no sliding down and cramming of the toes on downhill terrain. Feel like a dream on my feet.
I've also had Danners and Merrells that didn't work on my feet. (Not enough support.)

I usually wear 7-7.5. I ordered these in a 7 and the Quest 4D II GTX in 7.5 to see which had a better fit. I ended up with a 6.5 in both with a little extra room for foot swelling on the trail. If you happen to be comparing the two styles, these are lighter and more "comfy" but less rugged than the Quest 4D II GTX. I'll be using these for rocky trails in Banff and the Quest 4D II GTX for a more demanding via Ferrata climb on rebar. Both are absolutely beautiful in person and paired with my custom orthotics, the perfect boots!
I'd also recommend:

I liked these boots, I need wide boots due to bone spurs and bunions on both feet, after many years of sports. They were definitely a half size too big for me. I did exchange them for a half size smaller and the length fit well at half a size down from my usual size. Ultimately, I had to return them because they were too roomy in the box of the show. I have wide feet but not thick feet. If you have a thicker foot, these boots would work well and I will recommend them to a friend of mine who has thicker feet. Other than the roomy toe box, they are very comfortable. These boots are also not the light day boots. I would use them on longer, maybe more rugged hikes. Good support and well built.

I ordered a 10, 1/2 size bigger to accommodate extra socks. I have read reviews of these shoes on blogs and wanted to see if they were as comfy and sturdy as described. I have wide feet with a very high arch and instep. The arch support does not look very supportive, but it sure feels like it. I won’t need my orthotics.
They have cushioning everywhere including the tongue. Very easy to lace up. They are not cheap but seem to be much better made than the Keen or Asolo shoes I have bought in the past. My color was on sale, so that helped. Love them

I bought these boots for a trip to Scotland. Fortunately it didn't rain much on my trip, but unfortunately I cannot comment on how well they are waterproof. For the days that it did rain some, my feet were dry. I found these boots quite comfy. I have a medium width foot, and the width of these boots are perfect. I am a pretty exact size 9 in any shoe, and I felt this boot was very true to size. I did get heel blisters climbing Ben Nevis, but I blame that on not being able to break in the shoe at all before my trip. Also, I feel that these shoes looked much better in person than in the picture. I would definitely recommend these shoes.

I bought this shoe over a year ago and hiked 1800 miles of the Appalachian Trail in these shoes. Other hikers went through 3-5 pairs of shoes and I only needed this one! They would look at the tread on my boots and thought it was unbelievable that they could last so long with so little wear.
They took no time to break them in! I never got blisters. It felt like they were molded to fit my exact foot. I usually wear a 8 1/2 and the 9's fit perfectly (your feet swell while hiking so it's recommended to size up). I really can't say enough about how well constructed and tough these boots are. Perfect for rain, snow, and stepping over/on sharp rocks. Once my boyfriend saw how well my Salomon's performed he quickly got a pair of his own. I really can't imagine a better boot. Hoping the trail running shoes I order next will please me just as much. Thanks!!!

I bought this boot for the many day hikes and overnight backpacking trips I do and wanted a solid, lightweight boot that would keep my feet happy and dry. I was very impressed with the lack of "wearing in" these boots needed, they have been comfortable from day 1. These boots have preformed on rough trails, scree slopes and wet slippery beach boulders. They clean off easily and the blue colour surprisingly doesn't look too bad when dirty. Sometimes my feet come out a little damp, but I am unsure if that is from moisture running down my leg, or coming in through the boot. I would definitely recommend this boot.

This is a beautiful hiking boot, but it runs large even compared to the Salomon Comet 3D GTX. My normal shoe size (5) was too large to wear with thick wool socks. If you are looking for a very wide boot, this style would work well for you.

These hiking boots are not made for small feet. Even though my feet are wide, these are too wide and I cannot adjust the fit with the lacing system. These boots do not give the support and stability required for hiking.
Also, the tongue is so small that it is difficult to keep it in place even when tied tightly.

These are the best hike boots I've ever worn. As an outdoor footwear professional, I've had the opportunity to try lots of boots and I absolutely adore these. They are light, the cushion feels as though you're wearing a sneaker, but they are stiff enough to be worn comfortably - without blisters - for days at a time while carrying a pack.
I've now recommended them for multiple friends - who all love them! I hope Salomon brings them back and in more sizes. I want to buy a second pair!

These boots are very comfortable. I walk miles everyday and know for sure they are completely waterproof, I only wish I could get another pair, my size is not in stock right now. Big time recommended!

I love to travel and hike various terrains. They fit better with thick socks, but were still comfortable even with thinner socks. They are no too bulky like other boots I've worn in the past. I wore them on paved trails, soft sand, and on rocky steep trails. When I wore them in the pouring rain, through a mucky fields, my feet stayed dry and comfortable. I would recommend these boots without hesitation.

Just bought these boots this weekend to go hiking. A friend recommended. They did not disappoint! We were on some very rugged and wet trails. The grip was great on slippery rocks. The support for my ankles was just what I needed. I broke my ankle 2 years ago and this boot gave me great support. Our trail was quite wet and muddy in spots and my feet stayed dry. I'm looking forward to our next hiking adventure in these boots!!

I absolutely love these boots have had them for 2 years and from the very start they have been comfortable, waterproof, and give confidence and stability underfoot. They have taken me to Everest and Sikkim and some of the most challenging places for an off the shelf hiking boot. I use them constantly for moor and rugged challenging coastal hikes, they have barely worn. The uppers are in great condition still after being exposed ito mud water, sea water, snow and ice and sharp rocky conditions and I love the sole as it gives confidence over slippery rocky outcrops. All in all a great boot and a great price too. I will be purchasing another pair this year ready for when my current pair eventually need replacing. These were my 1st Soloman boot purchase and definitely wont be my last. I just love them!

First time proper walking in very wet weather. Completely waterproof, comfortable and warm. Good grip. Slight hitch with hooks being tight and so unlacing shoes difficult when it came to taking off.

These are my second pair of Quest Prime GTX. The first pair held up longer than any other hiking boot I've owned. As an avid hiker, I log approximately 40-60 miles per month, so I need a highly supportive and protective boot. These boots often seem to run a little larger than others, in both width and length, but not enough to alter the size you order. Perfect for thick socks in the colder months, and more give in the hotter months to account for perspiration and swelling.

Perfect Fit! I have such a hard time finding comfortable footwear to begin with, but these boots feel great. Very supportive and true to size. I typically size up in boots, but I purchased my normal size (7.5) and there is enough space to comfortably wear a thicker sock.

Just gotem just in December because of my line of work. I trael in country a lot and spend 90% up a mountain with mud and clay terrains. I took them out today for the 1st time and they did not dissapoint. I felt my foot was super secure and i was confident in every step i took in the clay terrain.
I am very happy with my current pair. Mine are the black and orange.
