I have been using the Salomon brand footwear for over 20 years and was very disappointed with this purchase. The comfort and stability was there from the start, good stability of the lacing system once broken in (a couple of days / 10 miles or so) and wearing for a long time showed the traditional features I have always enjoyed & relied on. Unfortunately after only 5 months of use (~585 miles) on trail & track and flat level walking the sole, mainly in the heel section has almost worn through to the next level. A slightly biased wear pattern owing to "toe out" walking pattern, but compared to the last pair of boots I bought 7 years prior (Comet 3D GTX) these have not come close. By "wrongly using" them in a "friction ground" application this is the OEM's expected wear rate! Note, this was feedback from customer services on raising the issue. Also found them to be slippy in icy conditions, I guess that the softer soles hasn't increased the coefficient of friction qualities despite being softer.

These are my 3rd pair. My first pair were awesome and lasted about 2 1/2 yrs and many many km. My second set lasted 13 months before the upper cracked and split from the sole. These were replaced under warranty which I was very pleased with but now 14 months later I've got exactly the same issue split from sole and cracking at hinge points. I maintain as per manufacturer and dealer. Was told my warranty goes back to original date of purchase so I should be happy. However getting 26 months from 2 sets of what were quality boots is terrible performance at best.

I bought these boots in October 2017 from Blacks in Northampton .Worn perhaps twice per week for dog walking until June 2018. The right boot now leaks. Rubbish - straight in the bin. Back to Brasher for me. Shame as the boots looked the part and were very comfortable.

Purchased these boots to hike a few hundred kilometers of the Northern Camino de Santiago. After less than 15 miles of break in, and less than 10 days on the Camino, the main lace hook broke off while unlacing. Had to rig the boot without a main hook for the last 100 + - miles on the Camino. Been a Salomon guy for over 30 years. This defect/equipment failure shakes my confidence in Salomon.

Gift from my sons. First time I wore them I got wet feet walking through damp grass. Was told they were water resistant. After a few fairly easy walks the sole and boot separated on both boots. didnt say anything to my sons but very disappointed.

I bought this boot for a colardo elk hunt work great for my 2016 hunt used them for 7 days. Not so much for the 2017 hunt feet boot every thing soak just from the dew on the under brush. For hiking boots that was used for less than 2 weeks to leak at this prices please!

HAVING USED MERRELL BOOTS FOR YEARS I THOUGHT THESE WOULD BE AN IMPROVEMENT. BUT THEY ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. THEY ARE VERY UNFORGIVING TO YOUR FEET, HAVE LITTLE INTERNAL PADDING AND VERY LITTLE GIVE. THEY HURT MY HEELS.
