I have been in the Asics Gel-Kayano since 2009 and because of changes in the current design, I no longer find them comfortable. I went up in budget to try out this Gel-Kinsei-6 for the reported cushioning. I also like the color design which is a plus as several Asics running shoes are not very attractive. These shoes are positively dreamy. Superior cushioning, spring and arch support which are critical to controlling my plantar fasciitis. Performed well after first run. Nice room in the toe box and material is very breathable. I'll update after 30 days of use (3 runs a week). So far, I love these. As for having to size up, I did not have to. I wore an 11.5 in the Gel-Kayanos and the same in these.

I had such high hopes for these shoes. I've worn Gel Nimbus's for years, and I thought this looked like a great neutral running shoe as an alternative. They are really nice looking and very comfortable to walk around in. However, within days of running in them, I had excruciating pain in my thighs that almost felt like bruising. It kept me up at night, and I almost went to the Dr. before my husband suggested that it might be the shoes. Sure enough, I went back to my old Gel Nimbus's and the pain went away. I don't know what is up with these shoes, but I'd caution anyone before running in them. They are a very expensive mistake! Zappos, the ever-wonderful company sent me a new pair of Gel Nimbus's to replace these, even though these are too used to return. I am so grateful that I went through Zappos and am so appreciative of their amazing customer service (a shout out to Jami). If you are considering trying these for running - don't.

Great shoe so far. I under pronate so have been wearing saucony for the last several years but last pair I bought didn't support me like I'd hoped. I did some research and found these. I had stayed away from asics in the past because I felt they ran narrow but was really surprised by how well they fit. I have a wide foot and I'm a heavy heel striker. Have had these for about two weeks now and have been pleased with the heel cushion and support. I normally wear an 8 and the 8 fits great. I wear them for cross training and some light running.

I like these almost as much as I like the Kinsei 5, which for me are the holy grail shoe. I own literally 6 pairs! These have a wide toe box, and have excellent cushion without being too bulky. They don't need a break-in period, and they cup my heel nicely. I also felt they ran just slightly bigger than usual. I wear a size 6 shoe and a 6.5 in Asics, but in these the 6.5 felt a little long. My only complaint is the come in the most hideous colors!

I was very hesitate to pay so much for a "sneaker". But I have hip, knee and back issues and needed a good shoe for walking with as little pain as possible. After wearing these sneakers on several walking occasions, I'm so glad I purchased. I can't explain technical terms why it works but when I wear these sneakers I walk with minimal pain (yea!). I did order a full size up from my regular shoes, 81/2 instead of 71/2.

I'm an old runner who has worn Asics for 40 years. Even though my main exercise is now walking, I find the best support is still a running shoe and Asics has never disappointed. The Gel-Kinsei 6 was "heaven" from the beginning. No break-in period necessary. And, my custom orthotics fit inside the shoe with no slippage in the heel. I'm hooked!

Love this shoe. Have worn Asics for years but this is the first pair of Kinsei 6. My left foot is the difficult one; the toe box of this shoe stretches with no restriction to accommodate my bunion. Have always had to stretch the left shoe with a shoe stretcher in the past, not this shoe. It has excellent support; I am a 74 year young woman, on my feet most of the day, and my feet never hurt. This is my first pair of Kinsei, and there will be many more unless Asics changes the extreme comfort of this shoe. I love the cool color of this particular shoe.

Great athletic shoe. I especially like this shoe because the toe box in wide and the heel narrow. Usually wear a size 7 1/2 shoe but this in a size 8 fit perfectly. I hope Asics makes this shoe FOREVER!

These have quickly become my new favorite shoes! I am wearing them for walking and just everyday life. They are super cute and go with everything because of all the colors. Most importantly they are super comfortable. It took a day of wear to get used to them, but after that they felt great. I ordered my regular size 7.5 but found them to be too short. I returned them hassle-free and ordered an 8 which arrived the next day. (Zappos rocks!) The 8 was just right. Out of curiosity I measured these next to my old favorite size 7.5 Sauconys and they matched exactly. I have never worn Asics before, but will definitely choose this brand again!

Great cushioning, "collar" almost over-padded. Excellent, thicker sock-liner. Wide, comfortable toe box BUT lack good arch support. I am returning only for that reason.

I have been wearing Asics for years. Some of the newer ones have been too tight across the ball of my foot, where I have a slight bunion, so I couldn't wear them comfortably. These, however, are great. They are super bouncy and really supportive. An orthodic fits comfortably inside. I love them!! Would get every color if they weren't so $$!

These sneakers are pricey but so worth it! I normally wear a 9 but ordered 10 and the fit is perfect (I like to make sure I have enough length in a sneaker). They look great too!

Had to buy new shoes, because of plantar fasciitis. These are great, however they run really small. If you are a marathon runner, you probably need to order a full size up. I typically wear a 7.5. In most shoes. I bought an 8 in this shoe after reading the reviews and my toes are all the way to the end of the shoe. It's not enough to bother me, so I kept them.

These shoes are a dream right out of the box. High price, but wearing every day - and putting miles and miles on them without any foot, leg or hip pain makes it worth it. Very comfortable, excellent cushioning and support.

Never had a pair of tennis shoes with so much support. Walked around Disneyland with no problems

Love these shoes! I've worn one pair out, and starting on a new pair this morning. I was so sad to see the Gel Kinsei 5 go away, even though they had quality issues, they were the most comfortable shoe I ever owned. But with the release of the 6, they surely got it right! I can't say enough good things about this shoe!

True to asics sizing, which is half a size larger than my regular shoes. I have two pairs of this shoe. One I've had over a year and the other 6 months. They are still amazing as they were the 1st day I got them. I only wear them for zumba. I teach zumba and the one hour class, is done while in complete comfort. I am very picky about shoes, Bc my feet give me no other option. I have high arches and if I don't have the perfect shoes, with good arch support, my feet, legs, back and wellbeing are severely affected. Prior to this shoes I wore the nimbus, but the latest version of the nimbus caused my ankle to sometimes twist when doing certain movements. I tired these and im glad I made the decision to spend a little more money. My ankle has not twisted once in the year since I started wearing these. My body feels great in them. I only wear them to zumba, I wear naot footwear the of the time. I'm a 38 in NAOt and a 7.5 in these.

These are great running shoes that have held up nicely. They are not quite as dreamily well-cushioned as my Gel-Nimbus 15s, but they seem to protect my bony feet and iffy knee joints pretty well.

I got this shoe to help the arthritis in my ankle. The cushioning is great! I use custom orthotics in them to give extra support.

These shoes are really very comfortable! I am on my feet for hours at a time, on a hard gym floor and I wear these all day for days in a row with no trouble at all. I have a history of plantar fasciitis, and some knee problems from a torn miniscus, and these shoes don't bother either of my conditions. My feet are comfortable all day, my back doesn't hurt and my legs don't ache. I love the pink and blue, they are bright but not too obnoxious. Thank you Zappos!

Great shoe! Comfortable and great support. I can wear these all day! Plus if you're short like me, it'll give you a little extra boost on your height (which you may not notice until you are in a standing position with one shoe removed and one on).

I've been wearing the asics brand to work out for 3 years now and this shoe is exactly what I expect from them. The sizing if perfect and comfortable from the moment I put them on. I like that the bottom of the sole by the heel flares out slightly. I find that helps stabilize my foot during lateral movements. I am not a runner so these are worn during a boot camp type workout. My daughter who is a runner finds these sneakers to heavy but they are perfect for me.

Love these shoes. I ordered a size 8 and normally wear a 7 1/2. They fit great! Very comfortable thanks to the gel cusion sole. I've already walked in them and finally was able to complete a long walk with no foot pain. Highly recommend these!

Very comfortable, unfortunately too narrow at the forefoot.

Liked the show but the ankle was so tight that I have to return.
