Fit well, had plenty of room for toes, sole was too stiff. I prefer more cushioning.

These shoes are great. comfortable but they could use a little more padding.

They are pretty comfortable but again the tow box comes more to a point than wide.

These shoes are comfortable. I use them for walking and some light hiking. The sole is fairly stiff, which I prefer. Arch support is OK, but I have high arches, and rarely find a shoe with a sole that touches the bottom of my arch. The shoes does not come up very high around the ankle, compared to other shoes I've had of this sort. I would like them better if they did. The soles have poor traction in wet conditions, such as wooden bridges on walking paths or even the driveway after/during rain, so beware! As other reviewers have stated, the shoes make your feet look smaller than most other athletic shoes.

Nice shoe. Love the perfect fit. Makes my foot look slender. Nice neutral color. Lost a mark overall due to moderate arch support for me.

very comfortable out of the box. Because they are tough and waterproof, I wear them for gardening, but I found that they caused me great pain when I tried walking on hard surfaces. The bottom surface of the shoe is made up of hard plastic treads that look a bit like golf shoes--without the spikes. That is why they are great for gardening. I made the mistake of wearing them to help a friend move, and by that evening my knees were in agony. I don't have bad knees, so I figured it had to be improper use of the shoes. My feet are a little wide at the front--hammer toe on both feet, and I found these shoes were still extremely comfortable and non-binding. I am between a 7.5 and an 8 and I ordered a 7.5. In sum, great shoe for room in the toe and for mucky summer garden work. Don't wear them for walking on hard surfaces.

Very nice shoe except for a peculiar bump under the rubber toe cap which pressed into my third toe on both feet. I didn't want to chance a blister there (the toes are pretty snug fitting) so I returned them. I was disappointed, they seemed really nice otherwise. I am going to try another style from Merrell.

I love the color I got in these. I wear a 7.5 and these felt real narrow and tight up by my toes. I wish they came in wide. I might return for something else. I bought them for hiking out west and I'm nervous there to snug to have comfort wearing them for hours at a time.

These shoes are very comfortable and have amazing traction. There seems to be a break in period needed but overall very happy with them. Planning on using them for a Europe trip

Excellent support as expected from Merrell. Wished there was a layer of "cushion" material over that firm support.

Love the style, but the arch was in the wrong spot. Since the footbed is quite firm, there's no possibility of squishing into the right place either.

Let me preface but saying that I am a grad student who walks everywhere, and I'm going on a big trip later this year, so I needed some shoes that could handle streets as well as hiking trails, and would be useful for everyday wear when I get back home. After a lot of trial and error, I'm settling with these. I've been looking for good hiking/walking shoes for ages. The last comfortable pair I had was a cheap pair of Sketchers, but of course those lasted hardly a year before they fell to pieces, and they were probably not that great for my feet anyway. I have wide feet, but not that wide, with low arches but a high instep (how???), and blister pretty easily, so finding any good shoes, let alone good walking shoes, feels like an impossible task. A friend said I ought to check out Merrell's, and I found these. I ordered a size 10, which felt a little long, and have grown to like them. At first I did not like them - they felt tight, and the arch support hit my foot oddly, but after walking for a day or so I got the feel of them and they are actually pretty comfy. The shank is sturdy and the heel has a lot of cushion, and the toe box is wonderfully roomy. They also make my giant feet look nice and slender. My foot slips forward in the shoe a bit as I walk, but lacing can help that somewhat. I am annoyed that I have to tie them as tight as I do to keep them in place, as it irritates my instep to do that, but I'm hoping I can get used to it. Bottom line, though: I power walked two miles my first day wearing these and had no blisters or soreness. That is a huge victory for my picky, picky feet. I will say however, because I thought the 10 was long, I did order a 9.5 to compare. I ended up sticking with the 10 for size reasons, but the 9.5 was also insanely squeaky, and it did not go away. I have no idea why. The 10 is not squeaky. It may have been a fluke, but it's something that could be irritating if you get sent the wrong pair.

Lightweight and comfortable. Enough room in the toe box so I can wear my Thorlos socks - not heavy enough in the sole for heavy duty hiking, but I am planning to wear them for travel.

I have great difficulty finding shoes that don't hurt my feet. I loved these shoes, but after wearing them about a half day, the construction changed my posture to the point where I had terrible back and hip pain. I put them away and waited 2 weeks...same thing after wearing them for a short time. It's almost like wearing heels. I really liked the looks, but unfortunately they won't work for me.

This is a very nice shoe. Decent support and good traction. Unfortunately, The heel on the left shoe is higher than the one on the right. So, back they go.

Loved this shoe from the moment I put it on. I is a little on the narrow side and I have average size feet. Also love the color selections. I had to use my orthotic as there was not enough support for me.

I almost bought these because they are beautiful shoes and got great reviews. The only problem is they hurt my feet after I left them on for a while. They caused some pain in the arch area toward the inside of the foot and heel. I have a problem finding comfortable shoes because of plantar fasciitis, two foot surgeries, and a narrow foot with very high arches. I really wanted these to work for me because they are really good-looking shoes, but because of the discomfort, I ended up returning them. If you have a similar experience, try the Keen Terradora Waterproof. I bought those instead and find them to be very comfortable and just as good looking.

I ordered a half size up based on reviews and other Merrill shoes. They have moderate arch support. I have bad feet and was hoping for a bit more support. I commute via train and walk to work from the station so I need something that will hold up well.

I loved this shoe. Very comfortable from the very beginning. No breaking in needed. I had switched from the Siren Sport to this one to see if they would last longer. The siren sport seemed to rip after a while in certain places. I did like this shoe a lot and wore it almost every day. I live in the city so I'm not very hard on my shoes but this one didn't last a year until it was ripped up from every day use. My Merrell shoes used to last super long but my last two only lasted about a year, or less with this one.

Trying to find shoes to repair my feet - have always liked Merrells; however, toe box was narrower than expected in a M width, ordered/returned an 11 - didn't order large due to toe box.

These are pretty decent but not as great as the old Merrell Siren style which I loved because they were the most comfortable pair of sneakers, but sadly that style is no longer available. I like the grey/light blue color combo. The shoes are very lightweight, so that's a plus. The mesh on them doesn't seem to be breathable, it's a more solid material than, again, that on the old Siren style sneakers. I haven't worn these for very long but I wonder whether with increased wear they will start to show wear soon because the materials used somehow don't feel very durable and look like they'll show scuffs, etc. I don't know why manufacturers discontinue successful style models so frequently. Bring the old Merrell Siren back!
