I've used Moab Ventilators for years and these are an improvement. The sole is really the same; the Edge is every bit as stable and grippy as the other Moabs, but it breathes better than the Ventilator. There is padding inside the mesh vents but it's lower density than the Ventilators (it's springier) so airflow is increased and if they do get wet they should drain/dry faster (especially since there is no leather to absorb water). They are still a "fast" hiking shoe so the shank is still not as firm as boots (you can still bruise your feet on sharp rocks if you don't step carefully), but they're no less firm as other Moabs. I'm very satisfied, the only thing I don't like is the overly "sporty" styling (I got the black, the least offensive, I'd prefer light gray with medium gray mesh and no glowing fluorescent accents, but I'll deal with it to have shoes that fit me this well and breathe this well).

The Moab Edge is an awesome shoe. They are super comfortable, and because the upper has a lot of mesh, they are nice and cool...great for hot climates (like here in FL). They were a little tight the first day or so, but that's to be expected. They loosened up quickly, and fit perfectly. I liked them so much I bought 3 pairs, in different colors!

Just got these shoes for hiking and walking and so far very satisfied with the fit and feel of them. They have been good on snow pack and ice, offering good support. The fit is better than the Jungle mocs I had since the laces allow a snugger fit. Finding my size 15 can be a challenge too, so I was happy to see these were available at Zappos. As a new customer I am very pleased with the customer service responses to questions about my order.

These were purchased as a Father's Day gift for my husband after he mentioned that the current pair of Merrell's were wearing out after more than 10 years of hard wear. He was pleased with the fit, comfort and cushioning.

My son loves these sneakers. His foot tires easily, but these are very comfortable.
