Horrible quality control. left boot fit completely different from the right boot and there were so many lazy/choppy inconsistencies. Its like the people making these are on drugs and zone out from time to time while they're in the process of sewing a boot. Wanted to like these but after reading so many reviews of people having the same problem, I realized there's just this baseless cult following who's pushing this boot. Sent these back and dodged a bullet.

I love the shoes from this manufacturer. Love the fit , construction and look. Unfortunately they had a couple of defects/irregularities that bothered me so I requested an exchange. And they sent pkg to wrong state after it was close to my home.

Right boot was a perfectly fitting 10D as expected. Left boot was marked 10D, but fit like a 91/2. Boot is smaller in every dimension. It also looks and feels like it was sown on to the sole crooked. Extremely disappointed, but will return and order another pair to give Zappos another chance. The new processing/shipping business model is a complete failure. I had to call customer service to check on my order status because it was "processing" for 3 days. The agent informed me that sometimes it's necessary to call because orders get "stuck" and don't ship as they should. What??? In 15+ years as a loyal VIP customer, I have never experienced this level of poor service from Zappos. Usually I place an order and it arrives the next day. I hope this experience was a one-off. I shop at Zappos for the exceptional service. The prices can be beat, but the customer service was always top-tier and that's what I pay for. Please strive to achieve this goal as you always have.

They fit as expected, 1/2 size larger than sneakers. Leather quality is excellent, you can smell them as soon as the box opens. The leather is thick and beautiful. Just know there’s little to know shock absorption but that’s will pretty much all heritage boots. Expect a break in period, as you should with all the heritage boots. I personally always go with 1/2 size smaller but if you have wide feet go wide (if available) true to size if wide isn’t available. Once broken in you’ll love them and will reach for them before any sneaker you have.

6 months in wearing these every day and all day. Surprisingly easy break in; they shrink in the loose spots, and stretch in the tight ones. Not a lot of cushion on the footbed, but they get more comfy everyday. Now that I'm used to them they're quickly approaching slippper-level comfort. Best boots I've ever worn

The quality of these boots surpasses any boots I have had in the past. Break in will take time due to the type of construction, but that is expected. Overall very happy

I bought these bolts back in 2021 and I still love them. They are super comfortable and look great even with my custom shoe inserts. Solid pair of boots.

I bought a side 11D and both size and width felt true. This is my 9th pair of Red Wing Heritage boots and oxfords and I am very satisfied with the style and quality of the Red Wing Iron Rangers. Also, break in was easy. It took me only two days of walking to break them in, maybe three miles of so on asphalt. My only complaint is unlike their other Heritage footwear, Iron Rangers aren't built with a midsole, leather or otherwise, which I prefer. This is also odd because Iron Rangers are Red Wings most expensive boots. But I plan to have them resoled sooner rather than later with a thick leather midsole and a 360 degree leather storm/split welting for increased stability and durability.

Like others have said, after the break-in these boots are extremely comfortable. And they look fantastic. But before break-in they are almost unwearable. Also, not much arch support so here’s a few tips to make them break in quicker and provide more support: 1. Oil the boot with quality boot wax (I really like Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP). Note boot color will get darker but ages away after a while. 2. Get a pair of Surefoot Blue inserts to provide much needed support. 3. Have a cobbler or a shoe stretcher stretch out the width and top of boot after it’s waxed 4. Wear thin socks at first until they are broken in With the above, after 3 short breakin periods of a few hours each, boots are extremely comfortable. My favorite casual work boots I’ve owned.

These are a difficult boot to fit. Going 1/2 down from measured, gets me close. But these run very narrow for me. So, if I choose the size that's 1/2 down, I would be pushing over the welt. If I pick a size higher, the width is better but the length is too long and I'm slipping. This is a tough one to get right. Maybe it's just my foot, but I'm in between sizes, and I'm not going to go through a ridiculously difficult break in to walk over the side of the boot.

This is my 2nd pair of RW Iron Rangers. First pair were Amber and this new pair is copper. As with all Red Wing Heritage boots they need to be worked in over several weeks. As for sizing, the correct sizing per the Red Wing store is one full size smaller than the Brannock size of your larger foot. Also, if you dont want the copper leather to darken, then the ONLY leather cream that will not darken your boots is the Red Wing Leather Cream (that exact name). Hope that helps.

Order a half size down and be ready for a fairly serious break in time. The leather is superior quality and the style is the classic American look that you want.

Extremely comfortable and fit like a glove. Well made and worth every penny. I’ve gotten multiple compliments from people on them and I haven’t had them very long. I’ll never purchase them again because these are going to last me a lifetime. From a financial perspective they are one of the best investments I’ve ever made. NEVER GO CHEAP ON YOUR FEET!

As previously stated, you'll need an insert. The bottoms inside are like rock.I usually wear a 12.Black doesn't seem to be available in widths. The 12 was too narrow.Got a 13 with insert's,and am pleased.

I've had my eye on the Iron Rangers for years. I'm extremely happy that I finally pulled the trigger on these. They're exceptional quality and built to last. I took the sizing advice and ordered 1/2 size down. Spot on. For me they were comfortable right out of the box. Not like I wanted to go for a run in them, but not as brutal of a break in period as others have stated. My Danners were way more painful. Even my Birkenstocks gave me more grief at first. They are definitely a tough boot but without being too much boot. They're sharp looking too. Whether you're buying them for fashion or for boot needing activities, you won't be disappointed. Do it.

Perfection! Ordered a full size down based on other reviews and they were perfect. These are high-quality USA-made works of art. They are stiff for the first few days, but break in well. Think of them like a good leather baseball glove. They will be tight and stiff at first, but once you break them in they become the best thing you’ll ever put on your feet.
