Ran big all over. Need to get a smaller size

These are really beautiful, but I found the top was a bit gaping on me. From the front they look like pretty cowboy boots and are a lovely color, but just didn't work for what I was hoping for work attitude.

Quite fond of these boots. Definitely get the wide if you have anything other than narrow feet. The buckles on the back come undone a bit too easily. I find myself snapping them back in place a little too often. But overall, they are worth it.

Attractive boot. Nice dark brown color. Terrible sizing. No way this is 18 inches width, unless at the very top. Could barely zip up half way and I'm usually ok with 17 inch width. Foot also felt narrow even with the wide ordered.

The footbed on this boot is ridiculously narrow. Save yourself the strain and order wide width, even if you're normally medium.

These are super nice boots, but not what I expected. The fit was what is causing me to send them back. I am not a super duper tiny person, I would say I'm average. These boots fit huge around my calves! Even with skinny jeans on! Other than the fit, the color was good, and overall they are very nice boots.

I have looked and looked for boots for my wide calf but that looked really nice. While these do fit my wife calf (17 inch circumference) the leather is not as nice as other more expensive boots. So the old saying you get what you pay for is true. These are nice and I would buy them again as they are comfortable and zip up easy.

The calf width was just not wide enough for me. I was so disappointed because these are beautiful boots. I wish they would have been close to the 17 1/2 inches I needed.

Mehhhhh. I so wanted to love these, but first and foremost- the width is SO narrow. I’m 2 months postpartum and probably still toting around some baby weight in my feet (laughable but true), but I don’t really have “wide” feet. Flat, yes, so maybe that’s why I found these to be so uncomfortable, since my foot tends to splay out. In my new post pregnancy size 9, I had a hard time getting the zipper up because the length of my foot was in the way, and even when I did my toes were screaming. In the 9.5, my heel slipped a little more than I would have liked. I can fit into regular calf boots if they have some stretch so I figured wide calf would be the right choice here. It was, but there was some gaping up top and sagging at the ankle. The leather left much to be desired... it’s pretty crepey looking, although I loved the darker brown color. I think I could have made the 9.5s work, but an earlier reviewer noted that she looked like Puss in Boots and once that image was in my head, I couldn’t get it out. The asymmetry of the top of the boot is rather pronounced and had me feeling like a feline Antonio Banderas in a big way. Both sizes are going back and I’m trying the Prina. Fingers crossed!

These boots were lovely online, but I was disappointed in the leather. They looked like cheap leather when I received them. Also, the boots were a full size to large. I normally wear an 8 1/2 and these were huge. My calf is also 16" and I bought these because I thought I would like little bit of room to wear scrunchy socks at the top but these were huge! I sent them back and ordered a different brand. Thanks for Zappos for the free shipping both ways!

I thought I was buying the same Sam Edelman boots that I have two pairs of, but this is a different style with a much wider calf. My calves are narrow, so these boots have a ridiculous amount of extra leather around my leg. The penny boots are narrower than other shoes, which is good for me, but beware that the sole might be tighter than you’re expecting.

The boots were beautiful but would not zip over my calves (18in). The footbed is also quite narrow; I have a wide foot and was only able to fit wearing thin boat shoe liners. Unfortunately, I had to return.

I have a pair of Sam Edleman ankle boots that are one of my most loved and most worn pair of shoes in the same size as these. Yet I could barely get this on to my foot, it was narrow and uncomfortable and the "wide calf" is not--couldn't begin to zip it. The leather is cheap looking too. Disappointing.

A good-looking boot, but disappointing leather and zipper quality. Does not appear that this boot would last more than a season or two. But to be fair, I gravitate towards Frye boots which are built to last nearly a lifetime. Also, ironically, the wide calf was way too big, and I have a 15.5" calf. I've been searching for a dark brown knee high boot for a few months now and have yet to find a regular size calf that will zip over my calves. So I decided to order the wide calf in this boot, only to find two fingers worth of gap. Back to the drawing board!

I love this style boot in general, but I'm not a fan of the grey color. It looks more like a rain boot in person.

The zipper broke after one season. Plus, the width was a touch too small. I have 16.5 inch calves, and while the zipper closed, it felt just slightly more tight than was comfortable. But now that I’m pulling them back out for fall, one of the zippers has a kink in it and is now broken.

The shaft on these boots was way bigger than I anticipated. Returning.

The foot area felt too small...I would recommend ordering a half size up. Also, the leather was a lighter grey than I was expecting (and I didn't like it as much).

The style look good but the fit is off. the shaft did not fit properly was too loose in the middle of the calf.

Beautiful boot! Shaft is not 18inches. I needed about another inch to zip up. They have to go back.

I'm so disappointed in these boots. I've wanted them for 2 years, but they weren't available in wide foot. Now, wide foot is available and it's laughably narrow. I ordered in my usual size and a half size up. I couldn't get my foot in either. I ordered them in grey, which looks rich and gorgeous in photos. The color was flat and pale in person.

i have been searching for a true wife calf boot forever (ones that are not lane bryant or torrid).. and i was so excited when i found these. my calf measures between 18-19" so i thought these would be great. WRONG. i couldn't even get them halfway zipped.
