These walking shoes have too pointed toes. I don't know why they think it's stylish to pinch your toes in a walking shoe. But they do.

I appreciate the size being available in wide and extra-wide, but the toe box is ridiculously narrow, as if it was a dress shoe. So uncomfortable.

The toe is too low so it uncomfortably hits my big toe.

I can't really speak to the arch support or comfort, as the shoes were too narrow--despite being marked as wide (and sold as EE). Uncomfortably narrow toe box. New Balance used to be my go-to brand, but I'm thinking I may have to try a different one.

This would have been a very good shoe, but the toe box is very narrow. As many complain about NB, why do they keep changing shoes all the time? You cannot get the style that always worked well for you. I constantly hear this from friends who wear NB, as well as see this in other reviews. Must be all about money, as everything seems to be. Not the needs of the customer.

I love the 623v2 but it finally wore out so I ordered the current version available. It is clearly not as comfortable as the previous version. I will probably return the shoes and search for something more comfortable.

I have worn New Balance shoes exclusively for the last 15 years. This is the first pair I've purchased that don't fit properly. They are too tight right now and I am trying to break them in, I just received them yesterday. I don't think they are going to loosen up. I have worn the exact same size over the15 years I have worn your shoes, but these don't seem right. I hope I'm wrong and they lossen up because I really like the style and look.

These feel flat, like there is no arch support, they are also very stiff. Not comfortable, these will be returned. I am a big fan of New Balance but these were disappointing. Going to wait for the Saucony Progrid Integrity ST2 to come back in stock in my size and order a pair of those again. I need a black leather sneaker for work.
I'd also recommend:

I have been wearing New Balance 623 suede (brown) trainers for the past 9-10 years. I just purchased my 3rd pair in that time. The first 2 pairs were size 8 1/2 width 2E and they fit perfectly. They were the most comfortable long lasting shoes I have ever had. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the same shoe in my size again. A trip to a New Balance shoe store told me my size is a 9, width of 2E. I finally found the New Balance Trainer - model 623 in Brown Suede online. This shoe is to wide and too long. I decided to keep the shoe and must wear it with inserts to make it fit properly. This will likely be my last purchase from New Balance. Which is too bad since New Balance has not been able to maintain either consistent sizing and proper inventory of product.

The style and look of the shoe was fine but it did not give me the support that I thought it would get. I have been buying New Balance for years and usually purchase the 990 running shoe. I needed a shoe for the gym and was seeking a shoe that had a bit more stability and was solid. This shoe did not meet my expectations!! Also, I had to change out the shoe strings, they were way too long.....

The sole of the right shoe came off within days of starting to wear them....this is clearly unacceptable.

New Balance has been my go to show for years because I have large and wide feet. I've been noticing the quality and selection are declining while the prices are rising. I understand costs rising but not quality and selection declining. Taking care of ones feet is very important and shoe brands and quality are important.

The shoe itself, maybe bc it’s white on white soles, looks huge. Fit was ok. Didn’t like the look

My feet have gotten slightly wider as I grow older. I went to a 2Eand am very satisfied with the fit across my toe joints. I find that the material used over the toe area to be thin and looks cheap... time will tell if durable.

I ordered the Women's White/Silver version (ASIN: B00V3NEHSE), not the black one pictured. All the New Balance shoes were running really tight on me, so I decided to try the wide width. While these were comfortable, they felt too sloppy, as if I could not keep my foot in the shoe. They also look a little "clunky" versus streamline like my other shoes.

Wore the 623 2E for as long as NB made them & they were comfortable and fit perfectly. The 623v3 2E fits longer and wider; the D width is too narrow. No longer know which NB shoe to buy, so I play the game of buying a pair of some model and returning them if they don't fit. This is a real pain. Leave it to NB to ruin a good thing when they have it.

Very stiff leather, still having difficulty putting on. I bought wide but seam inside on bone by little toe rubs and presses. I normally wear a B width in dress shoes. Seam should have been finished smoother. Otherwise fits ok.

Had to return these for a half size smaller. They're longer than the older version of 623 that I've owned for a couple of years. Thanks for such a great return policy Zappos!

These were sold to me as the replacement of NB 928, but they are no such thing. They lack arch support. The heels are at least .5 inch lower than 928. The foot and ankle support are also much less. The only similarity is the color--black. 623s look and feel like vinyl. They are not leather. The fact is the amazon has 928s in a long list of colors and styles. NB used to be recommended for orthopedic issues. These miss by a mile.
