I purchased these boots in distressed black and they are horrible. They are very stiff, ill-shaped at the top and the leather feels rough and dry. I purchased a tan pair a year ago and I love them. They are constructed from butter soft leather and fit perfectly. I was really disappointed when I received the black ones. It seems quality is no longer a concern for Bed Stu.

The "distressed leather "is a coating. I wore them one average day before the coating started chipping off in a large section. I am SO disappointed. I had already fallen in love with them. They are not worth the cost. Sending back tomorrow.
