These slippers were great in every way *except* that they ran way large. I usually wear 6 or 6-1/2 and have wide feet. I figured a 6 in these would be snug or just right. They fell off my feet so that I couldn't even take a proper step! Unfortunately, there are no smaller sizes so back they go!

For the past several years, I've been buying SO(?) moccasins at Kohls and wearing them as house shoes. I find that the insides of these shoes wear out quickly so this year, I wanted to try spending a little more money in the hopes of finding something of better quality that will last. I bought these slippers along with a pair of Toms slippers and UGG Ainsley. These slippers are definitely more utilitarian than they are cozy or warm. I live in the south so I don't necessarily need extreme warmth, but my advice is, don't try these on after trying UGGs or their ilk. Once you've tried on something with lots of soft fleece or shearling, these aren't going to feel comfortable at all. They don't have any lining so what you feel is the boiled wool, which isn't soft. Whatever the insoles are made of, while not soft, are supportive. The stitching around the edges isn't soft, either, and I'm actually worried it may be irritating or even rub a blister. I wear a 7 or a 7.5 depending on the shoe, but with European sizes, I always order the 8. However, this time, I did order a size down. Even so, they feel slightly too big, and possibly more so if they stretch out with wear. Having said all that, I'm on the fence about returning them. I've been looking for something with arch support, and these have it. If I was in a store, there would be no way I buy them. But you know how it is...buying something online with a credit card...it's easier (at least for me) to throw caution to the wind. It's as if the good fairy drops off presents, and I forget about who is actually paying for the gifts until the credit card bill comes in weeks later.

The back of the slipper is not high enough, thus slippage. This brand needs to work on heel area in general. The wool is nice and the arch support.

These slippers looked like the answer to my needs for something comfy to wear in the house. They were not! They are sized much to large, fit is sloppy. I wear a size 9 and ordered the appropriate European size to correspond. The length was fine, the width is huge! Also the back of the slipper folds over too easily and slips up & down when taking a step. Returned them immediately.

I am returning this slipper. It has no arch support and slips off my foot. Plus it was shipped without a box just in a plastic bag.

I loved these slippers for the first year. They are comfortable with great arch support. Warm but not too warm. Unfortunately, a hole appeared after only wearing them for a year. I understand it is likely the way I walk, but I would have expected them to last longer.

I found this ran quite large - in feeling on my feet, and in looks - to my eyes, it looked like I had Hobbit feet with them on. They seem very nicely made (they ought to be for the price) and I love the material, but I am returning them since they fit poorly and look so clunky.

I really wanted to like these. They're so 'me' in the picture. I sat on the couch and put them on. Stood up. Took a step and my left foot came out. Took another step and my right foot came out. When I say out, I mean OUT. Not like clogs, but where my heels came up and the fabric slipped under. They didn't seem too big. There is elastic, but it's not working. :(

I am very disappointed in this slipper. I did my homework and tried on a few sizes until I found a black pair with the best fit. Wore them only in the house. Within 6 months I developed a sizeable hole in the toe of the right shoe. I wish I could return them. They were way too expensive for the quality. Also, they were only snug because the collar hugs my foot. Otherwise, they're at least a 1/2 size too wide for a wide. I will never buy Giesswein slippers again.
