I bought these in black. I tried on several black boots that were just below the knees and thought that these worked best for the look I was going for - work great with casual skirts, denim skirts, and over skinny jeans. Casual, but can also go slightly dressy. Ordered my regular size 6 1/2 and these fit just right, maybe a little snug, but they stretched out after few wears. Also great that they can be adjusted with the buckles. Even though a little pricey, feel that I have gotten and will get tons of wear out of them, justifying the price.

These boots are everything you hope them to be...rugged looking, yet pretty enough to wear with a skirt! Comfortable beyond belief, quality like you would expect. you will not be sorry with your purchase! I am between an 8 and 8 1/2, and the 8 1/2 fits perfectly.

I am usually a 9, but needed to get these boots in a 8.5. I love these boots. I have many pairs of boots, but these are my favorites!

I first ordered the size 8 1/2 in the dark brown and they fit perfectly! However, I really wanted the brown calfskin and the dark brown leather was a little like a suede and I was concerned they would stain or soak up water if they got wet, so when the calfskin came back into stock I ordered those. Those in an 8 1/2 were very tight plus the leather had a bad dye job - weird spots all over the leather - so I returned those and got another pair in size 9. The Zappos customer service people were fantastic about it. I have been wearing that pair and after several wearings they have definitely loosened up a little. I am left wondering, if I had tried another pair of 8 1/2's in the brown calfskin, if they might have fit a little looser? The good thing is that now I can wear a medium weight sock with them which is fine by me. I have to say I love these boots -- the style is amazing -- a real classic. The leather and workmanship are wonderful. There was no breaking in time at all which is pretty rare with boots. I was able to waterproof these boots and there was no noticeable change in the color of the leather. They look great with jeans tucked in and would look great with a skirt. If it's possible to be in love with a pair of boots, I am in love with these!

I purchased my normal size at first, but ended up exchanging for a half size larger boot. The leather is very soft. The heel part is a bit stiff so I am hoping they soften up a little there. Great looking boot though.

Love these boots! This is my second pair of Frye boots and while they are spendy, I find them well worth the price. They are very well made, sturdy, and comfortable. These are pull-on boots so they were a little tough to get on at first, but once on, they fit like a glove. I have athletic thick calves (14.5 in +) and the adjustable strap at the top makes these one of the only tall boots I\'ve found comfortable.

Awesome Boots! Read other reviews and ordered a 1/2 size bigger. Glad I did! Fits perfectly, wore them all day, on the first day, without any blisters!

I can\'t tell you how long I\'ve been looking for a boot like this and I absolutely love them. I originally ordered a 7.5, which is my usual size, but they ended up being too big. The 7 was perfect. As a lot of other reviews indicate - yes, they do need to be broken in. The boot can feel like it clamps down on top of the toes a bit and the heel could definitely produce some blisters at first for some people. I\'m confident that after breaking these puppies in that they will be even more perfect than before. Also, thank you to Zappos for always being so fabulous!

I love these boots - they look great & feel wonderful. I tried to buy these boots locally but they did not have my size after two weeks of trying to get them to order them & then saying there was a 3 week backorder I gave up. I had them the next day from Zappos - very happy. I am normally an 8 & have other Frye boots in an 8 but these I needed in 8.5 and they are perfect.

I got these in a 7 in Dark Brown Calf Vintage. I already have the Veronica Shortie in a 7 in Brown and expected these to fit the same and be the same color. They do not and are not. They're a lighter, warmer, less black-brown. It's a very nice rich color. The Veronica Slouch is a very snug fit, especially when I compare it with my other Frye boots. The first time I tried to put them on, I nearly threw them back in the box and slapped a return label on it. They are difficult to get on, but it's a tall boot with no zipper.

I have been looking at these for months and finally got them. I must say they are pretty fly. Just like my last pair of Frye boots, I think I'll like them better when some of the shine wears off, they get a few scuffs and really start to fit like a glove. They feel a bit narrow in the width but so did my last ones and they do stretch with time. The leather on the shaft of the boot is softer than the actual foot part which will make them sturdier and no doubt give them longevity but may take a bit of wearing before I'd call them truly comfortable. All in all, love them and think they will work quite well for jeans, dresses, skirts, leggings and tunics. A real dress up dress down piece of footwear. Not going to lie, they look better on me then they do in the video so don't do too much deciding from those boots in the clip.

I was really pleased with these boots, but I'm returning them. I was deciding between these and the Paige Tall Riding boot. In general, the Paige is more what I'm looking for. These would be a perfect second pair (except for the appalling price of each of them), but they're definitely more biker chick than riding chic. The Paige is fancy enough that I could get away with wearing them to work on a Friday with jeans. I can say that the fit on these was perfect. I have athletic calves (about 13.75" - 14.5" around depending on my puffiness & weight) so I tend to have trouble finding boots with a comfortable fit. These allow me to wear jeans or leggings underneath (albeit snug-ly) particularly with the help of the little adjuster buckle on top. They are also super-slimming. I would say if you have very thin calves, these may be too wide, but I don't think they'd be too big if your calf is a normal slim. After all, they are meant to be slouchy. The slouch aspect makes them very comfy and easy to walk in. The sole is very supportive and cushy. They're not as tall as the Paige so on my 5'4" frame, they came up about 4" below my knee while the Paige is just below my knee.

Bought these as a gift for my wife, what a score! She loved the fit and style. They looked so good, a friend of hers ended up buying a pair the next week! As usual, Frye's commitment to quality is evident in the high grade leather and fine stitching. The price is reasonable for a boot exhibiting such craftsmanship.

Gorgeous boots! Looks great with everything, dressed up or down. Lovely color -- I got the Taupe. Great style and feminine fit for my petite legs. I tend to shy away from short skirts, but could wear one easily with these boots and look awesome in any season. Fits true to size. If you want to wear very thick socks, you may need to go up a half size. Nice full grain leather and workmanship as expected from Frye. Understand that there are variations in full grain leather. Some may have natural imperfections.

These are great boots; love the dark brown calf shine color. I almost always wear a 7 and sometimes a 6.5, but had to order a 7.5 in these boots. I actually bought a size 7 before and could not wear them - too tight in the toe box (and I have narrow feet.) I would recommend a 1/2 size bigger than your normal size.

Love them! I initially purchased a 7 in this boot, even though I wear a 6.5 across the board for all of my shoes. The 7 ended up being too big so I exchanged for the 6.5, which were perfect. The first two times they were a bit tough to get on, but since then, they go on very easy. I wear them with leggings and skinny jeans and they gain a ton of compliments. I bought the Saddle color, and in real life, this color reminds me of cognac--it's very beautiful!

Awesome boots! They go with everything - leggings, jeans, skirts, shorts. They are incredibly comfy and the leather is so rich and smells divine! I usually wear an 8 but ended up with an 8.5 as 8s were way too tight in the toe box (and I do not have wide feet). I got them in dark brown and now I want the vintage black! I love Frye boots!

I think I went through 7 Frye boots and finally settled on these! I only have to break them in for a couple of days and they are so comfortable! They're my replacement for my UGG boots that I always wear for winter. You can wear them with skinny jeans, leggings, skirts, dresses! I love it! I got a lot of compliments whenever I wear them. The saddle color is perfect! I like them than the brown. The size 7 fits me perfectly and I tried the 6.5 but my feet won't get in. I'm planning to get another pair in black. You won't be disappointed!

Finally purchased the Frye Veronica as I am desperate for a classic dark brown boot. Quality is worth the price, but really wish Frye would make an all rubber lug sole boot for this popular style for better bounce on concrete, hard surfaces. That's the reason for 4 stars for comfort. I'm gambling that the stacked heel construction won't irritate my tendinitis. Perfect color and these look like they will hold up for years.

LOVE. These. Boots. They fit the description perfectly. The brown leather is a wonderful neutral shade and look a little worn in. They are great for ladies on the shorter side. I'm 5'1 and have trouble finding boots that don't come up too high. Usually boots fall just below the knee on me which just makes me look even shorter but these are at least 2 inches below and oh so comfortable. Worth every penny! I ordered my regular shoe size in 7 and I felt they ran very true to size.
