These are a lot lighter in color than pictured and I would say the width is more of a medium. Cute boot, though! I hate to return it, but no choice

Taos has changed their boot color. Crave / Stone in now much whiter than earlier. The color I have is a darker greenish/brown color. Very disappointed with color change. Zappos should change their reference picture to match the new color shown on the Taos web site ( I should have checked there first??)

Unfortunately the item i received was very scuffed up. Sad to return but too expensive to start with a somewhat used item

I ordered this boot in wide but it was not nearly wide enough for my foot. The length seemed a little long- I could have gone down 1/2 size if the toe box was wide enough for my foot. Sometimes I can size up to accommodate for width but this one would have been way too long and still not wide enough.

The boots exceeded expectations. I was looking for a long time for boots that were stylish but comfortable for walking and hiking. These boots are perfect! Tons of compliments even my male friends ask about them! A must have for active females who refuse to give up fashion for comfort.

These boots feel like quality -- good looking and solid. For my size 7.5-8W feet I opted for the 39W (Taos considers 38 = size 7-7.5, 39 = 8-8.5 equivalent), and they're a little long? But I'm guessing the 38 would be a little short, and this is still darn comfortable.

Super nice quality, stylish boot. I bought for Christmas for both my daughter's, and they said they fit well and were comfy right out of the box. Returning this pair since the red was not her favorite color. I thought it the red was a gorgeous, and would look great with jeans and much of her wardrobe!

These are the best boots that I have ever found! I own several pairs in several colors! Absolutely the best! My feet are very sensitive and these are very comfortable and fit perfectly!

In general, these are beautiful, well crafted, sturdy fashion boots. I found them just a tiny bit short, or exactly true to size without a centimeter to spare. I got the red, which is deep and rich, more of a cranberry or cherry, with dark overtones giving it an antique patina. I changed out the laces, which I found an uninspiring brown. Check out Etsy, I chose a liberty floral print. I have wide feet, not the widest, but wide (I have bought many Alegrias with a more square toe bed) but the wide is turning out fine after wearing them around the house a few days. If you have a very wide foot these likely won’t work. Also, Taos makes very few styles in wide, you have to do your research to figure out which ones. They do not have much cushioning, if that’s an issue for you, but the footbed and shoe is well shaped and very supportive. I usually need an extra arch insert but I don’t seem to with these. The leather is soft so that the ankles don’t bind. However, they aren’t a warm weather proof boot. Probably they could be treated to resist rain, and the sole is about 3/4 of an inch so there will be some protection. If you want a really warm winter boot, look elsewhere. Or, order a size up and wear thick socks. If you want a comfortable fashionable, stable and well-made boot, you will love these! And Zappos fast shipping and free returns is truly a shoppers dream. I ordered another boot from the company who made them (Dromedaris) and it took ten days, and when they didn’t fit I had to pay return shipping, ugh. Zappos for me in the future!

I love these boots. I was a little hesitant to spend $250 on boots but I really did need a pair of boots and Taos generally provides the arch support I need. They are comfortable right out of the box. I love that I don’t have to untie them because the side zipper makes them easy to get off and on. I bought my usual size, 41. However, this is the first time in my 51 years I’ve ever purchased wide shoes. I decided to go with wide since I feel Taos shoes are usually a little narrow and there were SO many reviews saying these boots are quite narrow. I’m glad I went with the wide. The fit is perfect with thicker boot socks.

The wide width fits almost like an extra-wide. I have very wide feet with narrow heels, a high instep, and a bunion on one foot. These boots fit great, especially after I loosened the laces around the toes. I walked over 7 miles in them over the past 24 hours traveling from the U.S. to Europe, walking in the airport and then walking around Barcelona. No blisters! They also look great, right on style. Love these boots.

I bought these for a winter trip to London and Reykjavik. I was a little worried about the cost but they turn out to have been a great investment. Warm, waterproof, great quality. In style with all the others stomping around in black chunky boots. I put insoles in them for my crummy feet and I was good to go. I will probably add felt padding in to the tongue, as my instep is really low.

So comfortable. I put them on the minute they arrived and I was able to wear them all day. My right foot has some issues so I usually have a lot of discomfort with new shoes. Not these. They are instantly comfortable. I’m normally a 9, and I got a 9W. They look fantastic. Definitely worth it.

Orthopedic inserts wearers rejoice because your inserts will fit, or at least my Powerstep inserts did. However, Taos offers a supportive removable footbed, so you may not need to replace them. These are gorgeous! Yes, they are expensive, but the quality and craftsmanship is apparent as soon as you open the box. I am a 7 1/2 or 8 normally. I ordered both the 7 - 7 1/2 (38) and the 8- 81/2. Both actually fit, but I was afraid the 8’s would slide around when walking, so I kept the 7’s. Thanks Zappos for being our go to shoe store! Buy the shoes!

I usually wear a 6 1/2 EE so sometimes I have to go to 7W, and I never know about the fit till I try on. Although I was excited about the look good I had pain on my left ankle, waited another day and tried on again pain would not subside. So sorry I have to return.

LOVE THE SMELL! Real leather. Hearty strong feel.

They’re cute but surprisingly not that comfortable. Leather was stiff and rubbed me wrong.

The style is great, but kind of reminded me of ice skates once on. They were about 1/2 size too big even with 2 pairs of socks. I walked around inside for about 5-10 minutes and they are not as comfy as reviews mentioned and walk a tad clunky. My feet felt fatigued in the little bit I wore them so I knew they weren't for me. Also, I didn't realize they were not waterproof, which is needed in New England weather.

I wanted to like the boots, but they were TOO TIGHT I ordered the 11.5 W and normally wear a 11 W.

I have these in Black and Brown and I LOVE THEM! And no offense to the gal below, however, I wear one of these pairs daily all winter long and they both look practically brand new, with a few scratches, but nothing that can't be polished out. I'm not a sculptor, but seriously not sure how much you crawl around to put that kind of hole in your boots. Interestingly, my Black pair are size 37 and the Brown are 38, so I will definitely say you need to try them on. I wear thick socks with them. They are comfortable all day long, I am up and down stairs and on my feet a good part of the day. Good arch support! And great style. I was coming back to buy the Teal, what happened???? Bring them back, Zappo's!

I love Taos boots, they are so comfortable. I take a 5.5 and the 36 fits me perfect.
