They run small.

I LOVE these boots. Based upon other reviews. I ordered a 39 instead of my normal 38 (I typically wear a 7 1/2) nd SO glad I did. The toe area would have been tight if I hadn't. These boots are INCREDIBLY comfortable! They fit so well! My only disappointment is when walking on tiled vinyl commercial flooring where I work I speak like a new pair of basketball shoes on a court! Still. Would certainly purchase again and may in more colors. These are fantastic

These shoes are beautiful but the leather is thick and stiff. Budget time to break them in slowly. You don’t want to take these out of the box and walk several miles the first day.

Ran short for me 10.5-11 should’ve had extra length at toes. Regrettably sending back.

Beautiful boot, fit good but right heal is uneven and rocks when I walk.

I have a low volume foot and these were too roomy in the toe area where you can't tie things tightly. Otherwise very comfortable.

This shoe fit but arch support is not sufficient for me.

The boot looked amazing but the only reason I returned it was because the toe section was a little narrow for me. It pushed my toes together and it would hurt to where them for multiple hours. I would maybe get a half size larger to compare.

I love the look of this boot--I've been looking for something with this styling, especially the patent red for awhile--but I can't love the fit. It just feels odd to me in terms of the volume of the boot and like no matter how much I wear them around the house to break them in, like the heel cup will & general fit will always be off. I'm disappointed, they have so many colors and even the tall version that all would have been smashing as motorcycle boots. :(

I take an 8.5 M shoe size, which is not a choice in European sizing, so I go with a 40 (9-9.5) for boots. With a heavy sock and being laced up, this will work. The size down (39) is too short when wearing a sock. I have mixed feelings about this particular style. I own several Taos products and adore them all except this style because the mfg decided to put distressed marks in brand new boots. I already own a pair in another color and have seen several other new boots with these markings, so I know it’s not a defect. I’d prefer to do the distressing myself. However, they are very comfortable, well made, and it’s very rare to be able to find a navy blue boot, let alone one with silver buckles, not gold. They’re also very good looking. I have navy L L BEAN boots, and that’s a whole other look, a very specific style statement. Since I have a tote that matches (which is why I picked these) and I wear boots a lot, I’ll keep them as I know the durability of the mfg’s product. They aren’t waterproof but you can spray with water/stain repellent. I live in Maine and that takes care of my winter boots. All things considered, I’d recommend this boot. As far a working with Zappos, this is my second order and I couldn’t be happier with the service I’ve gotten. Very glad I found this shipper.

This is a great looking boot; however, it was too small and runs on the narrow side. It is well constructed and looks like a good quality boot. Unfortunately I am returning both this boot and another Taos for the same reason.

I bought these in red, size 7 and I loved them. They're comfortable to walk in and gorgeous; however, they don't feel like leather on my feet after half hour or so. My feet are sweating and hot in them....very unusual for me in a leather shoe. This has only eer happened to me with man made materials; thus I avoid them. I just rechecked this site, and it says leather uppers but they sure don't feel like leather after 20-30 minutes. I'm going to keep them because I still love them, but know I won't be able to stand them in warmer weather...too hot! Diane

I was so excited about these beautiful boots, and bought two pairs. I'm a pretty consistent size 7.5, so I bought the 38s. As soon as I started striding around in them, I realized they slipped too much. I returned them for 37s. The 37s seems to fit just right, but I think that the overall construction of these is so stiff that my feet feel totally cramped. They aren't allowed any natural movement. I have had these sitting around for a couple of months now and I haven't worn them because they are just uncomfortable, so that's my indication that I need to return them. (Sorry, Zappos!!) I was injured when I got the first pair, so it took a long time before I actually tried them, and now I'm returning these too, and I actually feel bad about it, but I can't justify spending this kind of money on shoes that are just going to sit in my closet looking beautiful. I am very picky about my foot comfort, and I work out and hike in barefoot-style shoes, so I am probably more sensitive about stiff, confining shoes than some people. But I do have some very attractive, fashionable boots as well, that are fully comfortable enough for me.

Beautiful well-made boot but didn't fit. My narrow heels are slipping and rubbing in the back. These heels feel too high and hurt my back. I prefer Taos Renegade boots, the old style.

The size and fit were good. I had to return them simply because I can’t wear this high of a heel. I wore them for about 5 hours around the house, they felt great, my feet were happy but the next day I had a sore back so I had to send them back. If you can tolerate this high of a heel, they are a beautiful boot!

I write this review for those considering the Taos Crave Boot vs the Taos Factor Boot. In style, comfort, and quality, they are both similar and excellent. The heel is barely noticeable when walking and looks great. I would say they are more on the narrow side than other brands such as Keen which are generally too wide for me. In sizing these boots are tricky, not having half sizes. I am usually a 9 in boots, 9.5 in running shoes, and vary between 39 and 40 in European sizes (more often 39). The Taos Factor are slightly bigger than the Crave. I found the 9-9.5 in the Crave too big and the 8-8.5 too small, so the Crave did not work for me. The 8-8.5 in the Factor fit me pretty well. They were a tad snug at first but stretched to perfect after a couple long days, however I should note that I have pretty narrow feet. These boots are very high quality and will last forever, so my advice would be to try both models if you end up between sizes like me. The factor seem slightly more shiny, depending on the finish and color you choose. I gave 4 stars for overall because of the sizing.

How can women mince around in high heels? I would have kept these if the heels had been a little lower. Yep, I read every description of color and heel height, and looked at photos of the different colors on LOTS of web sites. Both the marketing photos and the customer photos. ... And the descriptions of the comfort. And -- how can women mince around in high heels? I tried. Wore them around inside for a few days. They ARE TRUE TO SIZE. I am a 37, and had returned a 38 last year because do many reviews said they run small. THEY DO NOT. But the heel is still high. It is still 2 inches. Or 1-7/8, depending on the website. Believe it when the reviews say the teal is very green. Especially the suede top. I checked photos long enough to give anyone eyestrain, two different computers, changing the light. If you like teal green, they are. If you like teal blue, they aren't. Blue ink is a good color description. I held them next to black leather boots and could *almost* tell the difference. Only in the suede top. I wanted blue, not another black boot with a different name. ... Still, I would have kept it if it weren't so high-heeled. All those reviews of "comfortable" and wearing all over threw me off. They do have great style. They are not made in China. Now if Taos had the sense to keep a blue boot instead of one with just a blue-sounding name, and made more stylish boots with lower heels, I'm there. Thanks to Zappos for excellent customer service. Although I have returned some things, I have been with them for 10 years now and am still wearing other things purchased from them.

True European sizing that run slightly narrower than US sizes which is perfect for my narrow feet. The only downside is that they are stiff and cause blisters on my heels, even after being worn several times. I’m hoping that once broken in more, they will by more comfortable.

I loved the look of these boots...they would look amazing with a casual dress or with jeans. Seemed well made and I liked the side zipper, too. Unfortunately they are going back as the footbed is just too narrow for my feet. I typically wear a M width so it's disappointing, but after about 30 minutes wearing them around the house the small bunion on my right foot started complaining and both feet started to throb. Maybe I will try a W in these to see if it's better, but for now I'm trying some other brands.

I really like the style and fit of these boots but the color was what I expected it to be. I wanted a wine color, shich is what it looked like online but when I received the boots, they were much darker color than I wanted. For this price, I need to get exactly what I wanted. Returning them.

I love this boots. But even though I'm a regular size 42, even the 43 was too small! I'm very sorry, as the color and look are great.

I normally wear between 10.5-11 so went with the 11-11.5. My toe just touches the front of the boot, so I’ve ordered the 12-12.5 to see how much extra room that gives. Beautiful boots and seems fine width-wise, but I could see how this might be tight on a wider foot.
