I am so bummed about these shoes. I had been looking for a cute chelsea boot with a tread forever, one that I could wear to work in bad weather up here in the cold Northeast. These are exactly what I was looking for... except for the quality. First of all, they are quite narrow. I do have a wider foot but usually a B width works. They don't have a lot of give even though they are leather, maybe due to the lining. Like other reviews, I found the insole to be very hard. Hardly any padding or insulation, I could feel cold coming up through the sole. I would be able to deal with these issues if I could fit a thick sock, but I think if I ordered up my heel would slip. The kicker was that within the first 30 minutes outside I noticed that the leather on the sole of the toe area had been nicked on the sidewalk when my toe grazed the lip of the sidewalk. The leather base is clearly painted, not dyed, and it is dry so is is easily chipped and nicked. I thought maybe I'd color it in with a sharpie, but it will just keep happening. They also scuff easily. Problematic for a 200 dollar shoe, Cole Haan!

Love these shoes! I’ve been searching for a good black flat bootie forever because I HATE the hardware on most of other boots I found. I am a diehard Frye girl for all of my boots but I loved the style of these so I took a chance on Cole Haan...BOY AM I GLAD I DID. I wore these for almost all fall/winter in the Midwest (getting down to -15 real temp, -30 with windchill) and neglected all of my other boots for these. They’re super waterproof and kept the cold out with the help of wool socks. I wore these walking with some orthotic inserts walking around NYC for 4 days and my feet never hurt and were never cold. I love the grippy sole too. Kept me from slipping on ice outside and slipping on tile inside of my office when they were wet. Only complaint I had is that like any other leather shoe, they required a proper break in period. The back of the boot was definitely a little stiff when I first got them but nothing a good pair of thick socks couldn’t fix and it only took 2 days. 10/10 would buy over and over again. Do not hesitate! These babies are awesome.

Cute style and nice leather but definitely runs small and narrow. I even ordered the 7W and that felt too narrow for my feet. Had to return

I was on the fence about these boots after reading the mixed reviews and then a few months later I finally gave in and purchased them. I love the sleek and edgy style of the boot. I’m between a 9.5 and 10 and I got these in a 9.5. I’m able to slip them on with ease and they’re roomy enough to wear with socks. They are not the most comfortable boots I’ve owned, I can be on my feet in them for a few hours before they start to hurt. They are also slippery on certain wet surfaces. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Had to return. Pretty shoe, but it was really narrow in the toe and hard to get into. Walking around it seemed like it would need a long break-in period.

Love the boot. Wore it all weekend in Napa, walked. bunch. Very comfortable and warm.

I was looking for boots to wear in the PNW winters that would keep my feet dry, while also looking stylish. These certainly fit the bill. I agree with other reviews that they are tight in the toe box, however, I have narrow feet so that was actually preferable. Note that they require a few days to break in and caused a lot of irritation on my ankles, so beware of purchasing if you need to wear them right away.

I agree with other reviewers who found the ankle fit loose and the toe box a bit snug. Great looking boots but just didn't fit my foot.

I was pretty torn about these booties. They fit pretty well, maybe a little snug on the forefoot (even in a Wide) but my heel was slipping in the back. The main reasons I sent these back was the heavy duty tread (which I don't need, living in a warm climate) and because the shaft was loose around my ankle. I haven't worn a Chelsea boot before, but it seemed like the looseness would cause the shaft to rub my ankle when I walk. I could wear a heavy sock to prevent that, but I'd also like the option to not wear socks that show or something lighter like tights. Anyway, these are cute and at a really nice price point. I also liked the tab on the back which makes it easy to take them off. But I'm sending them back for now.

Beautiful classic chelsea boot, love the leather material, the almond shaped toe and the traction sole. I am returning them because they are not comfortable, there is very little arch support and the inside is not padded, it feels very stiff.

I’ve really enjoyed these boots. The first time I wore them I had them on for 8+ hours and they were very comfortable. No sore feet the next day. Love the style!

I ordered my normal size and it was a good fit. Sometimes I size down in Cole Haan shoes, but sizing down was not needed here. I like the profile and proportions of the feel. They come on and off fairly easily - they are not "slip on" but not difficult to get on and off either. Would work well for the airport.

I am a true 6.5 and have never had to be specific about width of my shoes. These boots are actually a game changer. Living in Manhattan means 5-6 months of walking through the streets in cold and wet weather. I wanted a pair of boots that were stylish, had a small heel, non-slip, comfortable, and waterproof. After reading the reviews on comfort I was worried but these boots are everything I could've asked for and more! The first couple of times I wore them out I wore thick socks and wore them to my yoga studio (4 block walk) just to break them in. They rubbed a tiny tiny bit on my ankles due to the real leather but nothing painful, just slightly uncomfortable. After that though, I've worn them days in a row while walking to/from work and I'm on my feet a lot of the day and these boots keep me moving effortlessly throughout my day! I'd recommend these boots to everyone (I've already told a couple of people to buy them!).

This is amazing!!!! I love the shoes sooo much. I have long skinny feet. These shoes are are just perfect for me. And the leather is very high-quality. I had never been so satisfied with a pair of shoes. Thank god I found them

This is not my first pair of Cole Haan waterproof booties, and I love the lug sole with the smooth leather finish. This bootie takes me everywhere in jeans, skirts and not always on a rainy day.

These boots are very high quality, and look even better in person. They felt great right out of the box! I did go up a 1/2 size in order to accommodate socks, as well as the tapered toe. (I normally get a wide width in shoes, but the regular width worked out fine by going up a 1/2 size.) I highly recommend these shoes. They are classy and practical in one. The tread is good, too, which makes them feel sturdy when walking in slick areas.

I bought a pair of brown leather WATERPROOF Cole Haan booties a couple years ago. They are beautiful and comfortable. I was skeptical about the waterproof part, however I was pleasantly surprised. I could walk through puddles and snowy sidewalks and my feet remained perfectly dry! I just bought the black leather WATERPROOF booties because I knew I would get a lot of use out of these black boots. They can be dressed up or dressed down. I wear an 8.5 in regular shoes but in booties I usually go with a 9 because of socks. I highly recommend these!

These boots are dope, and are wearing well even after a few years. Awesome buy!

Very nice boot - but felt too heavy.

Great looking shoe but not comfortable at all. Very stiff with very little to no cushioning. Sadly, had to return.

After a long search on the very large black bootie market I felt these would be most practical since they are waterproof. I also have other Cole Haan booties that are quite comfortable. I haven't worn these out of the house yet but I will say they were at least a 1/2 size too small for me, I exchanged for a size up. I don't have wide feet but I can see what other reviewers mean about the narrow toe bed. Still mulling these over but will likely keep these because I think they are cute and will be useful in Michigan.

These boots were tight in the toe box. Love the look but am sending back after reading other review. Will try both a 9W and 9 1/2 M to see if they fit better. I really need a waterproof bootie.

The fit is great and I love the comfort. It does rub against the skin on your leg if worn without any leggings or a thicker material.
