These are great looking shoes. They are a bit heavy for walking shoes. They are not nimble enough for approach shoes. They are not heavy enough for backpacking shoes. It seems like these shoes have an identity crisis. For a mid, the last is really stiff. Insole does not offer much cushion. It feels like I am standing on a hard tile floor. The heel on this shoe is too built up, which given that it us a mid, might make it real easy to sprain/twist an ankle. The shoe would require considerable break in time as it is not an out of the box hit the trail shoe.

I ordered them in my size 10.5 and they were too small. I ordered an 11 and they were perfect. I would order a half size bigger than u wear in keen or Merrill

Depending on the shoe, I can wear a 10 or 10.5. I tried these in both sizes and had heel slippage in both, even though my toes felt felt crammed in the smaller size. It’s difficult to describe but the shoe felt ‘shallow’—I sensed at any moment my foot would slide out. That issue aside, they felt very sturdy and well constructed. It’s a pity they didn’t work out for me.

This is my second pair of this model--first time I've ever duplicated a shoe, once I wore it out. Superb fit and finish and extremely comfortable. Nothing wears out except the corner of the sole (which I normally destroy within a few months, on most shoes). Even the laces are way better than average: they don't wear out, and they stay tied!

Shoe is great and sturdy however is fairly narrow. My husband wears a 14 with a foot that is narrow to average and after a couple of hours wearing them in his office he decided they were just too tight. I am now in the process of trying to find him a 14W in the same shoe.

Overall shoe is awesome, BUT BUT BUT very shallow. The back of the shoe only came up me heel about halfway, so with every step the shoe wanted to pop off my heel and if I walked any amount in them would rub my heel raw in minutes! Fix this issue and these would be GREAT!!!

This is my third pair of these shoes. I work in lawn care and these are constantly exposed to fertilizer, herbicide, mud, dog poop, and wet grass. This particular pair stayed waterproof for 13 months. Which is outstanding! I absolutely abuse these shoes 5 days a week, 10 months a year. I normally have to order shoes no wide width, but this has a very roomy toebox. They are relatively stuff out of the box, expect about a week to break them in. Buy these with confidence!

I couldn't find a way to update my previous review, so some of what's written here will be redundant. This is my fifth pair of Oboz shoes (second pair of Bridgers), but it's the first time I purchased through Zappo's, and I'm glad I did. For some reason, the right shoe was making a muffled popping sound. I thought it might get better with break-in, but after 2 months, it only seemed to get worse - it almost sounded like I was wearing a flip-flop on that foot. The sound was not at impact - it was happening when I pushed off. I could see nothing wrong externally, so reached the conclusion that something was wrong with the last. Considering my previous experience with Oboz shoes, I chalked this up to a wierd anomoly. Kevin P. (?) with Zappo's customer service listened intently to my story and agreed with me. He processed my reurn quickly, and I recieved my replacement shoes the following day ! Happy (and not surprised) to say those shoes are performing fine. in a market where a lot of low hikers often feel over designed and light on protection, these shoes feel rugged, well built, and understated. I will likely buy these shoes again (please keep making them, Oboz!), and will likely get them through Zappo's.

I bought a pair of Men's Oboz Bridger Waterproof Hiking Shoes late last summer. I wore them exclusively for fall dayhiking and winter hiking (we hike 4 times a week in the mountains of western Maine all year long). I also wear them for every-day shoes in the office. This spring, I bought a second pair our 2019 challenge is to hike at least 20 ski areas in New England and beyond (we've done 9). The Oboz Bridgers are stable, easy to break in, protective, and comfortable.

I bought these to replace an old pair of Tamaracs that are wearing out after significant use. These felt slightly tighter but also felt more supportive. Other reviews mentioned some slippage in the heel area while walking and I noticed this as well. This did get better after some adjusting of the shoe laces. I chose these over the Tamaracs just because I like the look better. Both are very good shoes. The sole is very sturdy and protects a person from rocks below. I really like this. If you want a flexible sole this shoe might not be right for you; however, I really prefer the arch and toe support as well as protecting the soles of my feet. In regard to the width I am usually happiest with a shoe that is 4E. These are wide enough but are not comfy (which is probably good for a utility shoe such as this one is). These shoes will be used for lengthy day hikes on and off trails.

I am a 10.5 in keen and Merrill, these felt tight, but wrap around your foot and feel different. If they were a little bigger they would have been great

I’ve owned three pairs of this shoe previously. They all fit well, were incredibly comfortable, and were reasonably durable. I recently ordered a replacement pair online through Zappos with exactly the same size as my prior ones. The shoes did not fit at all. I thought perhaps they had put the wrong size shoe in the box, but the shoe had the same size as marked on the box. The only explanation is that there is not consistency in manufacturing. I’ll buy another pair, but not before trying on the shoes.

I bought these on my way to the airport for a trip to Scotland. Fit was perfect and comfortable on day one. Worked well on the streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well on trails in the highlands and on Skye and Mull. They provide excellent support and protection. Of course, probably not great for rigorous hikes given the low rise. Really love these shoes.

I have worn boots for hiking and outdoor work all my life. I am 73. These are my fist shoe and I am pleased with them. Good fit. Excellent traction. Seems durable in construction. I seem to be walking flat footed as the soiles are very stiff which is a good things for rocky terrain. I will still wear boots in more severe terrain. For local walking on dirt, gravel, and rocks these seem fine. One minor complaint. The back should be higher and the fit in the heel area more secure. I believe these would be easily removed in mud conditions. These are meant for dryland hiking which what we mostly have here in northern New Mexico mountains.

The shoes look gray in the photo but they are actually a dark green (moss color). I sent them back. They fit great and felt fine but the color was not what I was looking for to match my work uniform.

I have fallen arches & wear an orthotic insert. I LOVE these shoes. SUPER comfy. All day wear. I walk on avg 12,000 steps/day. I get on avg 1.5 years use, sometimes more. Been buying them since March 2020. I also wear the taller version in winter.

Love the shoes. They fit and were comfortable right out of the box. I have already put miles and miles on them, and they still look good.

but since they don't I have bought the men's. They do run slightly wider than the women's version but they don't make them anymore. I love these shoes, they last for years, the waterproofing doesn't and needs to be redone but that's OK. They bottom grip is great and doesn't wear down. I hope they don't discontinue the men's low version.

Great great shoe. Feels tough and well made. Love the environmental goodness this company does for each pair sold. Anyways. They fit true to size. Color and design are attractive and tough looking. They have saved me multiple times from busting my bum on slippery surfaces. Great off road tread (like a mud tire)! They do fit snug like a tapered to your feet feel. No slipping around. I like them a lot. Kudos!!!

I've been searching for a shoe that fit my two different sized feet, 10.5 and 11. I needed good support and something that looked decent with a black pants or jeans. Unusual color being black and grayish blue. After trying 10 npairs of shoes in the flagship store i finally found them in a mens shoes, they aren't really wide so they fit perfectly, comfortable to wear most of the first day I had them. Very happy!

These are my third pair of oboz low hikers. I ware them every day and they last a long time. The latest pair appear to have a solid build. The heal cup is better with less padding and a more structure so I suspect they will last longer than my previous pair. They are comfortable out of the box. Great for hiking and and any other outdoor activity.

This Medium D width hiker shoe is very sturdy and well built, but is rather narrow, particularly near the toe area. However, I just loosened the bottom half of the laces a bit and the fit was acceptable. Also, the shoes stretched out a bit after wearing them for a few days.

As suggested, I went up a 1/2 size and the fit is perfect. I have a very wide foot, so I was concerned about the fit, but no worries.
