This supposedly waterproof shoe on the second day of wearing and walking through light rain is completely ruined. See photo. I do not recommend!

I really like Johnston & Murphy shoes, but I really liked this shoe when it arrived for a couple of reasons. 1) the inside is padded perfectly and feels amazing - especially if you're like me and have been wearing your "every day" brown work dress shoes for too long and the insole has become flat and hard. 2) The insole is sewn together. Many shoes simply glue the heel half insole to the front which is a huge red flag (the glue will peel apart, give it 3-6 months). That won't happen here. Inspect the inside of your shoes for the real indicator of quality. I don't love the cap toe as it's a bit more of an older man style (I'm 30 years old) but I'm keeping the shoes because of the comfort and quality of the inside. I have only worn a couple of times so if there are any issues hopefully I can edit this review. There is some rubbing on my malleolus bone (the ankle bone that sticks out the sides) but I'm hoping since these shoes are leather I just need to wear them to adjust to my foot.

Great comfortable pair of shoes. I normally wear a 10.5 nike but had to size down to 9.5 to get a nice comfy feel. Comes with a sole insert for those with wider feet. Would recommend.

It's very difficult to find dress shoes that fit my very wide feet and also look decent but these shoes definitely succeeded in combining both requirements. I got mine in tan and they feel and looked great.

the shoes appear to be good quality. they definitely run 1/2 size big-long. I bought a 1/2 size smaller than normal. They also feel too narrow (medium is really too narrow). I wear a D width and medium is to narrow. They have a very squishy insole that can be removed to make them wider, but then they were too wide, so I bought a thin dr scholls insole and that made them about right.

This shoe was visibly worn when we received it. Do not purchase from zappos. I can't believe they do not inspect shoes before sending out to customers.

These shoes are excellent! Well made. Hardy. Had to put some arch inserts in but I also have flat feet so may not apply to all. They do great in the rain as well. No spotting, nothing. No maintenance needed! Terrific! Will buy another pair!

Sizing is right on! There will be a break in period, but once broken in, these shoes will wear like iron. All my J&M shoes have lasted a good long time!
