Beautiful shoes! The red color is amazing. I live in Brooklyn so I walk a lot. I tried to break these in around the house first before hitting the streets but I failed. The first day I wore them I picked a day where I was only going to work and back home. I barely made it to work which is 1/2 mile walk, 30 min train then 1/2mile walk. My feet felt fine but my ankles were rubbed raw and remained like that for days (I wore super thick socks to protect from this too). I had docs in the 90's and don't remember them being so painful to break in. The shoes are so beautiful and according to my research they should soften up and break in to turn into the most comfortable shoes ever so I will give them a few more tries but be warned these are not grab and go shoes.

LOVE these shoes! After many order-and-return iterations, these shoes hit the sweet spot. I can wear my wide fit Birkenstock in-soles with them, which makes them supportive, and they look great, especially with slightly rolled-up jeans, but also with dresses and skirts for an 80s-revival look. I have long, broad(ish) feet with low arches, so I have to put in an insole or two to fill up the vertical space, but that's not an issue. They haven't started scuffing yet, so I can't comment on the special finish, and they do take some wearing in - but then my classic Docs did too, and I wore them for 10 years.

It's been years since I had a pair of docs and when I saw these I had to have them. The shape of them is slightly more feminine looking than the classic Dr. Martens. They were quite stiff when I first got them and it took about three full day wears to get them broken in. I also have fairly wide feet and they feel great! My only real complaint is if you tie them too tight the top of the shaft cuts into your ankle, which can be uncomfortable. Wearing thick socks or not tying them so tight helps. I got them in the Cherry Red Arcadia and it's a really sleek color - I can't wait to see what they'll look like with some heavy wear and tear. Looks great with cuffed dark jeans!!

I love the color, classic Dr. Martens styling, great looking boot. I was skeptical that there would be enough room in the front for my wider forefoot, but that part was great. Unfortunately my narrower heels were swimming in the back, so I am sad to have to return them.

I wanted to like these so badly - style-wise they are great, just what a wanted. A slightly more feminine, streamlined version of Doc Martens (shorter ankle, less-chunky sole, pointier toe). However these did not work for me because the top really dug into my legs/ankles (I have average-width ankles). It's possible the stiff top would soften over time and be more comfortable after breaking them in but I was afraid to take that chance. I tried wearing longer thick socks but unfortunately that didn't work either and it was a deal-killer for me. Beautiful, high-quality shoe though. I am consistently a size US9, the recommended UK size 7 fit great, just a little on the roomy side.

This boot is so beautiful, and I wanted them to work so badly! But alas, the toe box was just narrow enough that it rubbed my big toe causing lots of pain.

I love these shoes, however I won't buy them again. I get compliments on them all the time, but the leather is not high quality and has cracked all the way though, so I can see my socks. It didn't take long for them to start cracking, a few months. I have owned them for less than 2 years. I don't wear them everyday and I live in California where it barely rains. I do walk a lot, but my other Dr. Martens lasted many years. I wear a 9.5 US womens, I bought a UK 8/US 10, but I wear an additional arch support, so I needed the space - they were a perfect fit. If you want to buy these, I would suggest ignoring the brand reputation for durable shoes that really last and you will be satisfied.

Seriously, amazingly uncomfortable boot! The leather is so shiny and stiff it almost looks fake, and it cut very uncomfortably into my ankles. Arch support was non-existent. Just overall uncomfortable. Break in just isn't going to cover this! Also not crazy about the pointed toe. I may try another Dr Marten style, I've always heard such great things about them.

I LOVED these boots, but they cut into my ankles for months, and, once they were finally broken in, I had to stop wearing them because they made my bunions worse, squeezing my big toe against my second toe and causing all sorts of problems. While I wore them, I wore them with orthotics, which worked great to make up for the lack of arch support. I am very sad to have to give up on these very hip, very stylish shoes.

Loved the look of this bootie, on a positive note they were well made with a nice nonslip sole, however the material it was made out of ( patent leather) was very sharp and thin feeling. It was very uncomfortable where the tongue of the boot rubbed on the ankle shin bone. If these were in regular leather I would have kept them as the fit was spot on, but the material they were made of was the deal breaker. I have several other pairs of Dr. Martins that I absolutely love.

These boots were cute but they just did not fit on my size 9.5 narrow feet. They do not come in half sizes, and I know the 10 would be way too big. So for me these were a pass, but only for the sizing issue. I would have kept them if they fit properly. I don’t think Dr. Martens is a brand that will work for my particular foot.

Gorgeous color, but very thick leather felt very uncomfortable against my shins, even with thick socks. Sad to return them...

These shoes are very unique, but not really what I was looking for. Even though I bought it one size down, it is very stiff at first, and the boots seem big and chunky. Definitely had a unique look, but i returned it because it didn't fit well.

I have been drooling over these boots for a while now and I was super disappointed to have to send them back. In true Dr. Martens form, they seem excellent quality and they really are a beautiful boot. I really loved the coloring on the red arcadia. Unfortunately, I found them to be very uncomfortable. I have owned and broken in Doc's before but this was different. The opening was so stiff, it hurt every time I walked. The sizing was also off, I have several pairs, all the same size from Dr. Martens, but these were sized larger. Not enough that I could have gone down a size, but enough that I would need a half size for them to work.

I wanted these boots for a very long time, but was unhappy when I finally did get them. They are extremely stiff and cut into your lower calf. Also they weren't as feminine looking as I had hoped for.

These do not fit like the traditional Docs! They are more like regular shoes, stiff, more straight and less forgiving in the width. They don't even really look like Docs on the foot.

STIFF! The style and black cherry color are the only positives about the shoe, as the stuff and rigid material make the shoe impossible to wear. From the moment I tried them on I knew it wouldn’t work, as the top of the boot aggressively hit my shin and the toe hardly bent when walking. Despite the advice to wear them to break them in, I’m not willing to invest the time and pain — which also makes me question why anyone would put these on a child.

I love the style of this boot! However, the boot material was way too stiff. I have been wearing Docs for years now, and so I'm used to having to wear them in, but these hurt my upper ankles so much because of how stiff the material is. Very disappointed but i had to exchange them for a different pair of Docs.

The sizing on these shoes is really strange. Bought a pair of Doc Marten shoes last Spring and at the same size (41), they were so small I had to take out the insole to break them in. Now they are great. These at the same size are gigantic. I take a size 9 US, that typically translates to 40 not 41. Using the sizing tool, I was advised to get a 41 but they are obviously too big. That said, the shoes also have a slight point to them and I prefer the regular style rounded toe and clunky sole. So even at my correct size I would return them.

It's very cute but the top portion hurt my shins, returning.

Oh the humanity. The quality of Doc Martens has apparently taken a sharp nose dive. Yikes.

I bought these as a formal boot for work in law enforcement. I was so disappointed in the quality of these. I think they are made out of plastic. It's to bad Dr. Martins have gone down hill so much. I could get a better quality pair at Payless shoe store.
