I’ve worn the Emmeline boot for the past 3 years for work (flight attendant). I’m a us women’s size 8, however, I cannot get a shoe insole in the size 8 without the boot feeling too tight so typically I go without the insole. I typically have to replace the boot 1-2 a year for aesthetic reasons. This time I ordered a us women’s size 9 so I can put an insole inside of the boot. Perfect fit ordering the size 9 and adding an insole. Dr. Marten doesn’t make half sizes so this was the best option for me.

I've received a ton of compliments. My first Dr. Martens and it's been great thus far. I absolutely love the style. I didn't have to break in these boots at all. My feet haven't hurt once. Comfy to walk in. The only thing is that my feet look extra long and that they crease easily.

I ordered these in a size 10, same as all of my other Dr. Martens, and they're perfect. The ankles are just right, the instep is not too loose or tight, and the toe box is roomy enough for comfort without being too much. These are also super cute, and fairly comfortable right out of the box even while they're being broken in. 10/10.

Bought a pair for my 10 yr old. I want a pair for myself.

omg love these shoes they are perfect, i had a pair similar too these about a year ago and walked a hole in them and couldn’t find anything to replace them till these! they are so sturdy and weather proof but also super comfy and go with everything! great for walking especially in rainy climates

I love how these look. Modern docs that are appropriate for us adults who wore the originals as teens. I did have to return the first pair and order the next size up - Zappos was wonderful about this. My new boots were here the following day! I love the color (Cherry red arcadia) as it can go with almost anything. I may order another in black though. I didn't really have much of a break in period like I had with my mary janes. I do wear thicker socks with them. Overall very very happy with these.

I have never ordered Dr. Marten's. I noted reports that Dr. Marten's take time to break-in. While they do feel stiff, it is more in a supportive way and I did not find them uncomfortable. They are very stylish. I ordered a UK 6 and typically wear a US size 8 1/2. I would add that I was looking for a tie-up boot that did not have a zipper on the side and this was the only brand I could find besides Dolce Vita.

Vanity sizing has hit the shoe industry and 'true to sizing' has taken on a different meaning. I've been wearing size 7.5M forever and all of a sudden their falling off my feet. I ordered a US women's size 7 and it's perfect, even with a pair of socks (thin). Love the boot.

I'll make this quick. Awesome boots. Are a bit stiff upon arrival and it would be so nice if they offered half sizes however, I highly recommend them. Well made, classic look with a slightly more pointed toe than original Docs. The red under black is gorgeous and subtle so far. Broke in quickly. I wear a US 8 to 8 1/2, I ordered a UK 6 and they're a tad big with thin socks.

Hands down my favorite boots. i get as many compliments on them today as i did when i first bought them a year ago. They're my go to boot whether i'm dressing for work or need to run errands in the rain.

If it's possible to love an inanimate object, then I'm in love! Boots are true to size; gorgeous color (I have the cherry arcadia). With wear, I expect the boot will develop a richer patina. I'd love to see these in navy/indigo! With all that said, these boots, as with all Docs, require significant break-in time. Especially problematic is at the top of the boot where the tongue can dig into the shin. My suggestion is to wear the boot, with heavyweight socks, at home to decide if the effort is worth the payoff. Clearly, I decided that it was! If you decide differently...Zappos has a wonderful 365-day return policy and terrific customer service!

Like Doc Marten desert boots. Cute and the colour is very nice but at least a size larger than marked. Order a smaller size.

Awesome boot! Have had them a couple of weeks. Many compliments on their look. I've worn at work and out to a concert last night. Minimal breaking in. Best boot I have ever had! I love Dr Martens!

Great style - the Dr. Martens edge, but a little dressed up. The leather is quite stiff, these will need breaking in. I usually take an 8.5 and the 8 fit fine.

Great boots! Wish they came in 1/2 sizes, but pretty true to size. I have more of a narrow foot, so I definitely had a little wiggle room in the toe box.

I bought these last fall in black and they've been wonderful. They're perfect for days where snow has melted off the sidewalks, but salt still remains. Other shoes would suffer, but these couldn't care less. I just wipe them off when I get home. And being docs the soles hold up crazy well against my city's old brick sidewalks. For about the first month I couldn't wear them frequently as the top of the boot dug into my ankles terribly and left me with bruises. Then after wearing about 5+ times, they were suddenly the equivalent of slippers. I can wear them now with a thin dress sock if I want and no pain whatsoever. I wear a size 7 in everything except for a 7.5 in sneakers. I ordered a UK size 5 and they fit great, maybe just a touch roomy, but a size down would be way too small.

Love these boots! So beautiful and nicely made! I usually wear 8 1/2, so I ordered 6UK size, which is 8US, and they were a perfect fit. Alas, I recommend getting a nice pair of boot socks for them, makes it so much easier to break in the boots.

Good looking and well made shoe. Have worn them once and love the look. The leather is still a little stiff but have full confidence it will loosen up with time.

The Emmeline in black cherry are the first Dr. Martin boots I've ever owned. Based on excellent feedback from other Zappos customers, I found that the UK size 4 fit my A-width, size 6 1/2 feet very nicely. The 6-eyelet style boot is comfortable on my ankles and the leather overall is beautiful. The black cherry color is great with jeans or dressy slacks. I liked the first Emmelines so much I ordered another pair in black!

Wow! Just got these delivered to the front stoop. Ultra fast shipping as always from Zappos! They are gorgeous, polished, black boots. I'm calling them my "grown up Docs." Trying them on the ankle part is too loose to feel comfortable and too tight to feel comfortable. Will definitely require breaking in.

I bought my last pair of Dr. Martens back in 1995 and I still wear them to this day. The quality is amazing. I picked up this pair recently and got the same size as I had worn all these years and they fit perfectly. Instantly comfortable. My heel doesn't slip at all. The cherry red arcadia color is really dark and great and I'm excited to see how the color adjusts over time. I like the minimal design (no yellow stitch). I also enjoy the slightly pointier toe.

I love these boots. I have a black soft leather pair of Dr. Martens that I love. I just can’t wear in winter due to when the soles get cold they harden and are terrible slipping hazard. I have a wide foot and they fit great. After reading reviews that these Doc’s are good in snow I ordered them and they have great traction in snow! I am a true 6 1/2 and also went to size 4 with reading reviews and they fit in length great but are a little snug in width but still comfortable. I’m truly happy with my purchase of the dark cherry they are fun!

They style is fine and as expected for a Doc Martin product (not incredibly sleek, but rather industrial), but this one is not comfortable because of where the top of the boot fits. The leather is rigid and cuts into the front of my leg. I don't think it will soften up enough to wear comfortably.

These are very good looking shoes, that I wanted to keep. However, they were sized too large and hit my ankle in an uncomfortable way. I really wanted to like these, but have to return.
