I love my bag. I use it every day for work and get tons of compliments on it. I haven't found a single thing wrong with it.

I spent about a few months looking at various messenger bags, after my old Pearl Izumi backpack started dying.
I finally order a medium jet black Command and it was great, but a little larger than I expected. Since I liked the bag so much, I ordered the small and it instantly became my favorite EDC.
Here's what I carry everyday:
20oz Contigo Thermos
13" Dell XPS with cords, etc.
Lunch and bottle of vitamin water
Windbreaker, hoodie and hat
Keys, Wallet
Bunch of misc. cords for my iPhone and other electronics
Files, pens, pads
A few vials of meds....and anything else I need. There's plenty of extra room....I haven't filled
the bag up yet.
It does everything it says it does and it does it really well....also it's pretty water resistant. I've walked thru rain storms for a few minutes and my laptop remained dry.
It's a great bag that survives a daily commute on NYC E trains. (One of the most crowded lines in the city).
Buy it, you won't be disappointed!

I bought this for my husbands birthday because his 6+ year old canvas messenger bag was falling apart so badly that no amount of hot glue or carabiners could save it. He absolutely loves it and was stoked about all of the pockets and organization this bag offers. It's the perfect size and he can't stop talking about how much more comfortable this bag is than his old one. He mainly uses it for work, but takes it everywhere with him.

One of the best Messenger bags I own .
Only downside is: it can get heavy fast if you don't pack it right.

Having used the bag for a week I can tell I'm going to enjoy using it for a long time. I needed a laptop bag to hold two computers and other personal items for work and this bag has it all.

Nice bag! I carry all of my stuff I take into the office everyday, light years better than plastic bags from the grocery store. It's a sharp looking bag, which is what caught my attention in the first place. Looks just like the photo. I'm very happy with it, thank you.

I was in search for a new daily commuter bag for quite some time before I pulled the trigger on the Command. For the longest time I was using a smaller shoulder bag that eventually just wasn't cutting it. I needed more space to store portable chargers, sketch pads, design notebooks, devices, drawing utensils, you name it. The command was the perfect upgrade! A simple overall design with organizational features (pockets) that beg the question, "why don't all messenger bags have these?" Very comfortable strap that is super easy to adjust. I highly recommend this messenger bag to anyone who is looking for a durable sidekick that fits into their daily commuting routines.

I love my messenger bag, what an improvement from my previous laptop bag. First off, I love the styling of the bag. There were plenty of color options and one that suited me perfectly. Functionally, the bag works as expected. I like the separate laptop pocket on the back of the bag, leaving TONS of room for accessories and personal items in the main compartment. There are also a lot of easy to access pockets for items I want to be able to get quickly.
The metal clasps to close the bag work well and look nice. And I love the optional use velcro for when I want to ensure the bag stays closed.
I think the only drawback that I have noticed is that the bag does not stand up on its own. But I always either lean it on a wall or chair, so it's a non issue for me but may bother others people.
I would absolutely recommend this bag to anyone looking for a stylish, lightweight laptop messenger bag.

I realize that with so many reviews mine's a drop in the pond at this point. It's so great I felt compelled to leave a review anyway!
Pros:
- Looks WAY better than the pictures! I have the large black Pike, which is most similar to the current black/gunmetal color.
- Durable. I have been using it daily for two years. Year 1: hot Florida sun, either riding my bike or driving. Often left in my vehicle (i.e.180 degrees at minimum). Year 2: daily 15-20 minute walk in the sun, rain, or snow, or an hour subway commute to and from, depending on the weekday. After 2 years, I cannot find a single blemish, inside or out. The only wear is some slight grime on the bottom from the subway floor. On ONE buckle, there's very slight wear from my thumb: you can see if you squint.
- Weather-resistant: I've been in 3 or 4 Florida downpours. The first was rough: the outside dripping wet, but no sign of water inside (helpful that the laptop pocket is against back). I've since had no anxiety about my laptop getting wet. When it rains or snows, I wear a waterproof coat, no umbrella, and let it endure the elements. Did I mention it still looks brand new?
- Feature-Rich: I'm actually ashamed to not utilize all the pockets. The best is the TSA-friendly laptop sleeve. I dislike exposing my $2500 MB pro to the world so the sleeve is a god-send. I've never had my bag pulled. Once a guard asked if I had a laptop in the bag; I pointed to the sleeve and he gave me a thumbs up. It's legit.
- Holds a TON: I was worried the buckles would be unusable if overstuffed. Bag will overflow first. Filled to capacity, it still fits under an airplane seat.
Cons:
- Feels Heavy: It's feature-rich but you pay that cost in weight. Also the bag/strap doesn't distribute weight very well; many bags will conform to your back over time but not this one, partially due to the laptop being against your back. This is literally the only thing I don't like and it's due to other pros - construction, tsa laptop pocket, etc

I did not understand the bottom zipper compartment. That one could have been eliminated and made the bag wider. Other than that the bag is very useful and enjoyable. Hopefully it will out last me.

The bag looks exactly like pics so no complaints. Tons of room for materials/hard copy to go along with tons of easy access pockets whatever else you are traveling with. I'd take an inside zipper pocket or two but that's the extent of it. Feels sturdy. Overall a great bag!

Given as a graduation gift. I'm writing this review because I had the bag for so long that I felt some moral responsibility to my bag. it is still in the same condition as I got it; ballistic nylon is no joke. I used to bring my bag everywhere on campus and during short trips. Spacious cargo space and nifty pockets. The quality is great, and the various pockets keep my electronics separated from micro scratches from pens and keys I carry.
One situational problem I've noticed is the how much the bag will bulge out if stuffed with clothes.
Bottom line: the ol'school Command Messenger is a very good bag that will look to continue to be of service for a very long time.

I got the small and it fits my 10x13" laptop as well as my 8 1/2" x 11" Rite in the Rain 9250T-MX Organizer perfectly. There is not much room to spare but I don't require any. The bottle holder is a bit small but will fit my 20 oz Yeti bottle. Time will tell how it holds up but I really like it so far.

A friend of mine was traveling with me, and I noticed his Command Messenger Bag. After asking about it and the company that makes the product, I started doing my research. My wife knew that my current messenger bag was on the last legs due to me using it for over ten years. Therefore, she purchased the Large Command Messenger Bag for my birthday, and I was tremendously excited.
The Large Messenger Bag at first seemed big, but now that I have used it for three months, I am glad she got that size. In fact, my friend who recommended the bag wants to upgrade to the large now. I use it daily for work and while I am traveling. The pockets are great for organizing my bag (I have OCD) along with having the ability to store my Ipad and Laptop in the back portion safely. The messenger fits perfectly under the front seat on an airplane with room for your feet and can open the padded area (laptop and Ipad storage area) for TSA scans if needed. I can carry a change of clothes, necessary documents, office supplies, charger for electronics, and it still has room for more. The strap is comfortable for hours, and the top handle makes carrying a breeze. The only thing I had to get used to is that it does not stand up on its own (unless fully packed). The cross strap for keeping it secure on my back while riding a bike is a great addition that I would have never thought of. Thank you Timbuk2, and I appreciate the products you produce.

I use this as my carry on bag for plane travel, and once I get there it can become my messenger bag for bike rentals. It also is professional enough looking for when I show up on a job I don't have my old, dirty messenger bag with me. I like the padded laptop sleeve and the external water bottle pocket, so if it spills it's not in the bag with my laptop!

I bought this to replace a Fossil messenger bag. I own a timbuk2 backpack, roller luggage and hybrid backpack/messenger bag as well. Timbuk2 quality is hard to match, the command laptop messenger bag is no exception. I purchase 2 colors (Carbon/Molasses and Surplus) in size SMALL as i wanted something professional but not boring/stiff. I felt the Surplus color and texture just wasn't as polished as the Carbon & Molasses. At the same time i also purchased the Timbuk2 Closer Case in Small & Medium, however the medium was still smaller than the Command Small. I thought the slimmer size of the Closer Case might provide a clean look, however, it was still too small and the style of the Command bag, especially in C/M color is a very clean, sleek looking bag. Size small is still a larger messenger bag, but will not fit my 17" MSI laptop, should fit a 15" no problem. Surface Pro fits with plenty of room to spare, which is what i purchased this bag to hold.
Pro:
1. Aluminum Hooks, though takes a minute to learn how to rotate the hook as some other reviewers have mentioned, after a couple times it's no easier/harder than a standard push-button clip style.
2. Napoleon side pocket on flap, AWESOME for going through TSA at airport to throw your keys, phone etc in (I'm pre-check so i cannot speak about the TSA approved benefits of this bag).
3. Cam Buckle lock, super awesome and convenient. Stows easily under seat in front of you, even on smaller planes.
4. Plenty of internal pockets for organization.
5. Texture of Carbon color material is really awesome, and very unique, will def. make people look twice at it. Surplus color did not have this texture
Cons:
1. I'm left-handed and the bag goes over the left side of my body the water bottle pouch ends up being on the backside of the bag, this is just part of being a lefty in a right-hander's world.
2. the bottom of the bag is angled towards the front of the bag, so if you set it down it tends to fall forward, laying on bag face.

The strap on my last bag would not stay adjusted. It finally drove me crazy enough that when I saw this on sale I bought it on impulse based on Timbuk2's reputation.
Now that I've used it for a few weeks, I would buy it again at full price. There are a lot of things I like about this bag, but mostly it comes down to the fact that attention was given to details and almost every feature is useful to me. The things I like are:
1) The lined cell phone and laptop pockets.
2) The "silent" option of using only buckles, or skipping buckles and using only velcro to close.
3) The size is just about right as well.
4) The quick adjust strap feature is what got me to buy the bag in the first place.
5) Sturdy grab handle
6) overall quality of materials
Things I don't like so well:
1) I probably don't need quite so many internal pockets
2) The zippers on the seam pockets (I think) should zip closed in the down direction rather than up, but that's maybe just me
Nothing is a big enough complaint to deduct a star, I really like the bag overall.

With a recent career change I needed a durable and high quality messenger bag to transport around different job sites. This bag has worked well for me to carry a laptop, iPad, prints & plans, along with snack, and other stuff to get through the day. My brother-in-law actually recommended their bags to me as he has been using them for the past few years. Living and working in the Seattle area, we have had dry season but I was really sold on the water proofing of the bag while out on a job site.

I bought this for my son for college. He loves it. He is a comp sci major and the bag fits everything he needs and has a well protected computer compartment. The color is beautiful and the material is top quality. Definitely will be buying more timbuk2 bags.

Great bag. This replaced my original commute from 2006. Overall pockets are plentiful- just wish there were configurable (Velcro) pockets inside for water bottles or other items that don't fit the design. Stylish and very comfortable regardless of what you carry. I traveled internationally and this bag was perfect for easy access. Great upgrade for me from the 2006 bag is the ability to put on the handle of a roll bag. Only service issue was that UPS routed bag wrong and I had to wait a few extra days to get it- not Timbuk2's fault, Timbuk2 bags rock- well thought out and stylish.
