This is my first new bag in 22 years...no joke. Overall this is a great bag. The storage is great. Something I discovered by accident, the bag is extremely well insulated. If you put a cold bottle of white wine in the main pocket, then forget the wine is there and leave the bag in the back of your car in 85 degree weather, 24 hours later the wine will still be cold. Oh knock I have, on my bag, the from hook enclosures were symmetrically sewn. One side is very difficult to open!

This is my second Timbuk2 bag, the first was stolen. I loved my first bag, however, did my proper research and looked at other options. I couldn't find anything that had the mix of function and style to compare with these bags. I use this bag primarily for work, my daily walk is about an hour, and it fits comfortably on my back while having the space to hold everything I would need for the day. Additionally, it look professional enough that I am able to use this bag to go to boardroom meetings in a suit without looking unprofessional.

This is a great bag overall. I use a 15" Macbook Pro and did not pay close enough attention to the dimensions - it's a bit of a tight squeeze getting it in and out of the small bag. There are pull strings on all of the zippers except for those on the TSA compliant fold-out. I find these zippers to be very loud/rattly and feel like people hear me coming with a cowbell on sometimes. The front section of the bag seems to 'sink' in at the seems unless it were packed full to hold it out. Wish it held form on it's own a little better. Makes it difficult to access the side compartments.

I'm a history teacher and use the bag daily for my tablet laptop, binder, a few books, wallet, phone, and a few personal items. My favorite thing about my first Timbuk2 bag is how customizable the sizing is. I'm a 5'6" woman and chose the smallest size, and while things get squished on nights I take a lot of work home, it's plenty big and roomy. I've gotten many compliments and it is much cooler than my last teacher bag, the lining of which shredded after less than a year of use. I hate shiny nylon, so the heathered gray weatherproof fabric is perfect for me. It doesn't really stand upright like the video says, but on the slouchy to sturdy messenger bag spectrum it is definitely sturdily constructed, yet not too boxy.

I'm a consultant and this is the best work bag that I've ever used. It's small but there are many pockets to organize all of your belongings so you don't need as much space. The TSA feature is great that you don't even need to re-zip your bag as you walk away from the security table.

This is hands down the best messenger bag I've ever owned. It looks very nice, is not too bulky and awesome to carry. My 15" retina MacBook also fits very nice in the medium size bag. With all the necessary padding to protect it. And when you're going through airport security you don't have to take your laptop out anymore. Yay! TLDR; It's awesome and I would absolutely recommend this.

I bought a medium size because it was on sale. I would recommend a large size to those who need to carry a 15 inch laptop plus something else like books.

At first, I was upset that the medium-sized bags were sold out in my desired dark blue color, so I ended up ordering a small. Let me just say I'm actually glad I saved some money on getting a smaller size because the bag is bigger than I thought it would be. I'm a pretty short person (~5'1") who uses a 13" Macbook Air with a protective cover, so this bag is more than big enough for carrying around my computer, my iPad, three notebooks, two folders, and a bunch of other engineering gadgets all over my campus. No more having to take off my entire backpack to get something from the front pouches! I plan on taking my bag with me overseas and testing out its true TSA capabilities this winter. Hopefully everything goes well and I'll be able to take it on many more trips to come. The only complaints I have are that the bag is heavier than it looks, which I can understand since it's made out of durable material. This also makes it a little stiff, though I'm sure it's nothing a little using won't fix. Also, on one of the metal straps in the front, there's some sticky adhesive on it like a sticker was peeled off not too long ago. Again, this is something I can clean on my own, but I expected a little more professionalism from a company like this. Lastly, I sort of wish this bag had the iconic swirly Timbuk2 logo printed on the front flap. I always found it to be a nice touch with some of the other messenger bags.

I use this bag for going to work. It comfortably carries my notebook, gym clothes, lunch and anything else I need to bring to the office. While the bag (large size) is very big, it fits comfortably when cycling and doesn't move around. I have also used this bag for a number of short trips abroad (both for work and for pleasure) and it has been great. Easily holds enough for a weekend away. Simply put an excellent bag!

This is my third Timbuk2 bag. Received the new Command TSA Black/Red Devil as a birthday gift and I love it. Extremely well-constructed and thoughtfully-designed. Not a cavernous bag but still plenty big for day to day commutes to the office and for a road warrior. Small knock: would like to see a few more organization pockets on the inside. Overall: best out there.

Purchased this for my son to use for high school. Each student is required to carry a Chrome book and charger in addition to their other school supplies. My son has Asperger's Syndrome and he is typically very hard on just about everything. He also doesn't like having to carry a million things. We thought this bag would eliminate the need for the separate chrome book case and we were right. So far, he has been very pleased with his new messenger bag and has been able to fit everything in. I would love it if there was a zipper on the bottom that allowed it to expand and become larger though. The heavily padded bag is great for protecting everything inside, but does take away some of the room for 'cargo'. He will continue to test the durability of the bag through the school year and our icy Wisconsin Winters!

This is a good quality bag and I am very pleased with it. As a heavy business traveler who likes to pack the bag with a full array of power cords, connecting cables, etc., the only watch out is the zipper and material on the inside pouch seem cheap and I expect that material will rip at some point. All other components seems like they are very high quality and will last.

I was interested in the redesign to eliminate the hanging straps and to add the pocket in the flap. Unfortunately, the new design (same size - Small) seems more cramped that last year's. Moving the pencil and other pockets to the innermost wall means there's no flat side inside the bag to quickly insert a folder or pad - that either jams into the curved front or hangs up on the bulges in the back. Also, the laptop + iPad seems to bulge into the main compartment more, so the main compartment seems less roomy. Removing the horizontal compartment at the bottom (for chargers, but I use it for a travel umbrella) seems to have thrown off the balance, making it very tippy. And the new closure system just doesn't work for me - the clasps are hard to unhook quickly, and the velcro only extends partway down the side limiting its viability as an alternative to the clasps. In short, I felt that I'd be missing the old bag flaws and all every day if I kept this new one so I'm returning it.

I travel for work on a regular basis which includes car commutes, train commutes, and air travel. I don't intend on using this while I ride a bike as I prefer a backpack when riding; speedily accessing a bag while on my bike means nothing to me (but if I were a bike messenger that may be a different story). The bag is solid, but we all know that from other reviews. The bag doesn't stand on its own as stated in other reviews. I wish there were more compartments in each major section of this bag, but that is just a personal preference. When I travel I must carry power bricks, cards, pens, notebooks, glasses, sunglasses, a personal stash of travel toiletries like floss and toothbrush, a water bottle, headphones, cell phone charger, water bottle...you see where I'm going. I bought the MEDIUM and almost everything I carry has a place. The main problem with a messenger is that if the items don't lay flat in some form or fashion, the bag gets awkward quickly. I have a pair of V-Moda over-ear headphones that don't collapse, so carrying those is a chore as I have to attach them externally to this bag. But so far, an excellent bag for work. Oh yeah, the closure straps are a bit finicky to deal with if you're in a rush, but I appreciate the Velcro silencers as I feel like Velcro is the enemy. Definitely recommended.

I am using this to carry computer, tablet, reference guides, trade journals, power cords, water, medical supplies, sunglasses, backup glasses, notes, and things fit much better than in some of the other satchels and briefcases that I had used in the past. Plus, I love the diablo red color and reflective areas. The strap is comfortable while walking to/from work (1.5miles each way) or walking through airports while traveling. The design is TSA compliant, and I have had no issues going through security at PDX, PHX, IAH, MKE, ORD, SEA, SAN, ABQ, MCI, MCO, PHL, LAX, SFO, YVR, or DEN. In essence, this is a well-designed bag that really lives up to the hype. Well-done!

I had a timbuk2 messenger bag some time ago and when I changed to a surface, they didn't have bags that catered to the smaller computing population. I thought I check back and I found that they started to change the product line variety. I needed a bag for my surface pro 3, and it needed to be small and have the number of pockets I needed to easily and quickly access including a place for my keys, cell phone and my surface. I chose the Command and my first impression was, "send it back because it's to big". However, after looking at the quality and the easy access pockets, I couldn't send it back. There are many easy access pockets, my surface pro 3 is secure and has its own easy access compartment and there is a water resistant flap. This bag is awesome!! I am very particular when it comes to my computer bags and I must say that Timbu2 has taken a nice change in it's more traditional design (I am a very passionate developer). The strap is nice and wide. There is a quick strap adjustment clip. The material quality is top notch. Your cell phone is easily accessed and there are many other quick access zippered access points that are really good (I live in NY and i'm often on a train, so it's important to be able to access my devices securely when on public transportation). This product holds my surface pro 3, tablet, cell phone and all of it's accessories without a problem and without being big and exhausting to carry. I regularly have papers that I read in transit and this bag keeps then quickly accessable, secure and wrinkle free. Timbuk2 should make an xs version and if they do, I will be one of the first buyers, but this is an awesome bag that should serve all with a thin and light that's 13" or less. I am not fond of the small cross strap and purchased the cross strap accessory and i'm happy I did. It's wider than the one that comes with the bag and it of a better quality. I would greatly recommend this bag and I expect to keep it for a very long time (I change bags at least once per year.). I also own an MSI Stealth Pro 17" laptop and I purchased the Q just because of the quality of this bag.

Just traveled with this internationally, this is a great bag. Three zipper compartments that are accessible without opening the bag is great and are live savers. I put my passport and boarding-pass in one, all my charging cables in another and use the other for metal objects that I can not carry in pockets for security. This bag saves time when you are on the go. You do not have to search through it. Your phone is dying and you spot an outlet in the airport, and pull one zipper down and plug-in. Your are on the plane and need your headphones, and they are right there. You are running to make a connection and quickly need your passport; you're saved. This bag is a life saver, and makes going through security a breeze. You pick up your rolling bag, and you just slide it on. Will be taking this with me on every trip.

I wasn't sure about which size of bag I wanted, but as they all seemed to fit my 15" notebook and I wasn't sure what dimensions were changed with the different sizes, I chose the smallest. I can see now that once I have my laptop inside* there's little room for anything else. Perhaps showing photographs of the available sizes next to each other for an easy comparison would have helped. * I keep my laptop inside a hardened protective sleeve which means it can't fit in the padded sleeve on the 'body side' of the bag. The outside pockets are all on the wrong side. I'm right-handed and carry the bag over my left shoulder which means that all of the pockets are behind me when the bag's on my shoulder so I can't easily retrieve my phone or my e-reader. And when I sit down on the train I have to use my left hand to pull things out of the pockets. Would it hurt to divide the pockets over both sides. Or even better, have one large pocket with an entrance from both sides. On crowded public transport the bag is really impractical to use. The buckles/fasteners are difficult to use. I have a minor struggle each time I open the bag, which I'm sure was the intention. Over the foreseeable lifetime of this bag I can see myself either becoming increasingly frustrated or simply deciding not to fasten the bag closed. They might not look as stylish but there are easier and more practical ways to fasten a messenger bag. One other minor complaint: the two zip-pulls for the padded laptop sleeve jingle/rattle around when I'm walking down the street. I think I need to wrap them in something rubbery so it doesn't sound like I'm rattling loose change in my pocket. I would have returned the bag by now but the postage is prohibitvely expensive from my country. I also had to pay a considerable amount in import tax when the bag arrived, which I don't get refunded if the article is returned. Any replacement bag would also incur a similar charge. Thus, I'm stuck with it. To be fair, there are a few points which I'm happy with: the number of pockets, the strap and adjusters, and the material.

Got this case for my wife when she got a laptop for work. She loves it and has used it for commuting and traveling the country. She has had no complaints except that the metal hooks are hard to use from time to time. She noticed it when we were on a plane together and she could not get it hooked after opening, while it was underneath the seat in front of her. Luckily the flap does have hook and loop closure as back up. All in all, a good bag. Made my wife happy.

Compared with classic messenger, has much improved laptop access and better pouch organization. But has one big design flaw: the flap closure clips (metal catches) are easy to slide ON and nearly IMPOSSIBLE to slide OFF --- takes two hands and lots of tugging, so awkward that I often leave them unclipped.
