At first, I was upset that the medium-sized bags were sold out in my desired dark blue color, so I ended up ordering a small. Let me just say I'm actually glad I saved some money on getting a smaller size because the bag is bigger than I thought it would be.
I'm a pretty short person (~5'1") who uses a 13" Macbook Air with a protective cover, so this bag is more than big enough for carrying around my computer, my iPad, three notebooks, two folders, and a bunch of other engineering gadgets all over my campus. No more having to take off my entire backpack to get something from the front pouches!
I plan on taking my bag with me overseas and testing out its true TSA capabilities this winter. Hopefully everything goes well and I'll be able to take it on many more trips to come.
The only complaints I have are that the bag is heavier than it looks, which I can understand since it's made out of durable material. This also makes it a little stiff, though I'm sure it's nothing a little using won't fix. Also, on one of the metal straps in the front, there's some sticky adhesive on it like a sticker was peeled off not too long ago. Again, this is something I can clean on my own, but I expected a little more professionalism from a company like this. Lastly, I sort of wish this bag had the iconic swirly Timbuk2 logo printed on the front flap. I always found it to be a nice touch with some of the other messenger bags.

I use this bag for going to work. It comfortably carries my notebook, gym clothes, lunch and anything else I need to bring to the office. While the bag (large size) is very big, it fits comfortably when cycling and doesn't move around. I have also used this bag for a number of short trips abroad (both for work and for pleasure) and it has been great. Easily holds enough for a weekend away. Simply put an excellent bag!

This is my third Timbuk2 bag. Received the new Command TSA Black/Red Devil as a birthday gift and I love it. Extremely well-constructed and thoughtfully-designed. Not a cavernous bag but still plenty big for day to day commutes to the office and for a road warrior. Small knock: would like to see a few more organization pockets on the inside. Overall: best out there.

I travel for work on a regular basis which includes car commutes, train commutes, and air travel. I don't intend on using this while I ride a bike as I prefer a backpack when riding; speedily accessing a bag while on my bike means nothing to me (but if I were a bike messenger that may be a different story).
The bag is solid, but we all know that from other reviews. The bag doesn't stand on its own as stated in other reviews.
I wish there were more compartments in each major section of this bag, but that is just a personal preference. When I travel I must carry power bricks, cards, pens, notebooks, glasses, sunglasses, a personal stash of travel toiletries like floss and toothbrush, a water bottle, headphones, cell phone charger, water bottle...you see where I'm going.
I bought the MEDIUM and almost everything I carry has a place. The main problem with a messenger is that if the items don't lay flat in some form or fashion, the bag gets awkward quickly. I have a pair of V-Moda over-ear headphones that don't collapse, so carrying those is a chore as I have to attach them externally to this bag.
But so far, an excellent bag for work. Oh yeah, the closure straps are a bit finicky to deal with if you're in a rush, but I appreciate the Velcro silencers as I feel like Velcro is the enemy.
Definitely recommended.

I am using this to carry computer, tablet, reference guides, trade journals, power cords, water, medical supplies, sunglasses, backup glasses, notes, and things fit much better than in some of the other satchels and briefcases that I had used in the past. Plus, I love the diablo red color and reflective areas.
The strap is comfortable while walking to/from work (1.5miles each way) or walking through airports while traveling. The design is TSA compliant, and I have had no issues going through security at PDX, PHX, IAH, MKE, ORD, SEA, SAN, ABQ, MCI, MCO, PHL, LAX, SFO, YVR, or DEN.
In essence, this is a well-designed bag that really lives up to the hype. Well-done!

Just traveled with this internationally, this is a great bag. Three zipper compartments that are accessible without opening the bag is great and are live savers. I put my passport and boarding-pass in one, all my charging cables in another and use the other for metal objects that I can not carry in pockets for security. This bag saves time when you are on the go. You do not have to search through it. Your phone is dying and you spot an outlet in the airport, and pull one zipper down and plug-in. Your are on the plane and need your headphones, and they are right there. You are running to make a connection and quickly need your passport; you're saved. This bag is a life saver, and makes going through security a breeze. You pick up your rolling bag, and you just slide it on. Will be taking this with me on every trip.

I got this pack for my son for school. He didn't want a traditional back pack. He likes it. There's lots of room for all his books and folders, plus a few compartments for his phone and other needs.

Got this case for my wife when she got a laptop for work. She loves it and has used it for commuting and traveling the country. She has had no complaints except that the metal hooks are hard to use from time to time. She noticed it when we were on a plane together and she could not get it hooked after opening, while it was underneath the seat in front of her. Luckily the flap does have hook and loop closure as back up.
All in all, a good bag. Made my wife happy.

This is a really great bag! Bought this for my fianc's birthday gift and he loves it. We're both academics and we bring a lot of stuff around. Macbook, ipad, notes, chargers and all that fit perfectly! I wish I get one for myself :)

Wanted a functional but also a bag I could visit clients with and still be casual. Fits the bill so far.

This is a must have for anyone who does any kind of extensive airplane traveling. I was a bit weary at first that the laptop compartment would no 'fly' with TSA. But, not one airport I've been to has even blinked an eye. Super convenient. Great bag, looks great, holds a good amount of items and has pockets and compartments galore. Great all around bag.

Probably the best bag I've ever owned. Use it daily for my commute to work. Easily fits laptop, lunch, a book or two and all my random odds and ends. Been through the airport a few times as well and the zippered section for the laptop works like a charm with TSA!
My only criticism of the bag so far is that it needs more exterior compartments that are easily accessible without opening the whole bag. Also, very modern and stylish! I've gotten several compliments on it so far!

I travel all the time for business and was tired of lugging my backpack. I absolutely love this bag. One request would be to add more compartments and to simply add another bottle holder externally.

I have used this bag for work, school, and travel in the last month and was completely satisfied with it's performance for all three activities. A laptop fits well with plenty of room for other items. This is my second Timbuk2 messenger bag and I like even better!

I use this bag as my all-purpose/daily bag. From commuting to and from work, I am able to keep both personal and business related items in the bag. Too bad the rating stars only go up to five (5) stars..... I would definately give it a ten.

I use this bag for my commute to work, I hot desk so I need to carry everything I need with me. The bag has room for my laptop, charger, mouse, headphones, iPad and everything else I need.
The charger compartment is great, if a little small for accommodating a UK plug, the compartments on the front are great for quick access to items, but could do with the addition of a key clip to stop my keys floating around.
The bag has an internal organisational panel which is very useful, but it could stand to be a little bigger and run the whole width of the back, a couple of elasticated mesh pockets for storing bulkier items like mice would be handy.

I love this bag. I recently moved from a Swiss Gear Backpack, and wanted something a little more stylish that could carry all of my devices, cables, and paper though with a bit more class. This bag is perfect and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a messenger bag.

It is a great bag but I wish I had ordered the LARGE. After upgrading my laptop to 15", I needed a new bag. My Mac fits great but once I get all my cables, accessories, etc., there is not much room left for work files, notebooks, etc. So am now wishing I ordered the large size bag...

I use this bag every day to work on the subway, and need to keep my laptop at the ready on weekends at times. This bag (medium) fits everything I need in a day comfortably, from laptop, to extra cables and spare batteries. One thing that has happened on occasion is the clips for the strap come off, the first time I thought I had broken it but the metal just popped back into place and I clipped it back on.
Love the look and feel of the bag, very happy with my purchase.

Seldom carry laptop, so the bag is really too big, particularly too long/wide (my mistake). It seems very well made, however, & have figured out how to make it work. Have found alternative uses for various pockets. Strap relatively comfortable, but the larger the bag, the more you tend to carry, so... Also, the bag doesn't stand up very well, which is annoying. It looks like a briefcase, but when you stand it up, it tips over. Not thrilled w/it, but it was on sale & it is OK & a good sight better than the backpack it replaced.

As stated, this is a great bag. The shoulder strap is very comfortable and easy to adjust with no slack left over thanks their system. The bag is more geared to taking your computer to work than beers to the beach. Plenty of separate storage options for organizing which is something that other brands don't seem to realize as important. I'm not sure how often the TSA friendly part will be useful but it is nice to be able to access your computer without opening the main compartment. On that that note, the option to do without the loud Velcro closure is a more of a blessing than you realize - really helps the bag "grow up" and fit better in a professional setting.

I use this bag to go to and from work everyday. I have no problems walking the whole way. I was worried that the small size would be too small, but the size is perfect. Fits my laptop well, and my tablet along side it.
Spectacular bag.
