As an avid skier always looking for a quality set of ski pants that performs well in the coldest weather and can still perform well in the spring. These ski pants with the ventilation openings performs very well in a broad temperature range. Well made and durable. While I always look for ski pants I expect to get at least 5-10 years out of a set of pants and these look to be up to the challenge!

Used these skiing, I was a little worried about them staying in place without suspenders but they fit great and stayed where I was comfortable all day.

IT'S NICE THAT YOU CAN BY THIS PRODUCT IN DIFFERENCE LENGTHS. USING THE FIT CALCULATOR MADE BUYING THE CORRECT SIZE EASY. THE BENEFIT OF BUYING DIRECTLY FROM NORTH FACE IS THE ABILITY TO CUSTOMIZE THE LENGTH.

I bought these pants for my teenage sons. Based on the size chart, I ordered the Medium long (Levi's jeans size 30W34L and 32W34L, height 6'0" and 6'3" respectively) but they were way too long for both boys so had to re-order and the Medium Regular was the right length. There's a velcro tab on both sides at the waist to tighten the fit which is a great feature. These pants allow for easy movement, they are not bulky at all. Hoping the boys will get many years of wear out of these pants as they are kind of pricy. Good quality overall. Would buy them again.

These pants are perfect for me. My waist varies from 34 to 36, and the Medium fits me very well--not tight but also not baggy. I bought the Long version, after trying on the regular version in the store. My inseam is 36", and while the regular version would have been fine for skiing, it would have been too short with hiking boots. The day after they arrived I was on a cold weather Boy Scout campout, very windy, in the Rockies near Estes Park. The temperatures ranged from 6 above to mid-20s, with wind between 10 and 20mph most of the day. The pants repelled the wind extremely well--no cold spots, no breezes, etc. I had midweight long underwear bottoms underneath (Smartwool) and was comfortable all day and night. The zipper vents were open as the day warmed up. I suppose my one "needs improvement" comment would be that the vents could be longer, but surprisingly, I didn't overheat. I expect that these will be perfect for alpine skiing with or without long underwear, depending on the temperature.

I use the pants for snowshoeing. Excellent in cold weather and warm enough to wear with only a base layer. True to size and trim in the waist which reduces bulk around the middle. Fine tuning the fit at the waist with velcro is a nice touch. Leg vents have come in handy and helpful to vent off some heat during vigorous activity. Inner lining is elasticated at the ankle and allows for this inner lining to be tucked into a boot. The outer pant goes over a large boot easily.

I bought the pants to be worn when playing outside with my kids in the snow or when shoveling. They allow plenty of movement from both of these activities.

My son (6'4", weight 200+) shovels and snowblows our driveway and that of 2 neighbors - wore a Northface Denali top and was fine from the waist up. But his sweats were sopping wet - got these for him that same night - used them in the next storm and he was good to go - dry and warm - GREAT STUFF - pricey but very worth it.

I actually bought these for my son - for two reasons. One is that he is a 34 inseam and these are one of the few I could find that came in a long length option. The other is that I own a pair of these myself and I love them. They are warm and waterproof and durable. They have everything I need and nothing I don't. We live in Alabama and only get to ski usually one trip per year so not too heavy usage but I've had them for 5 years now and they are still going strong.

Used them skiing. They were great. Totally waterproof, and the elastics inside the cuffs were strong, and featured small rubber grips which kept them from sliding around, effectively keeping snow out of my boots. Great product.

Great pants. I'm 6' 2", 205 lbs and typically wear size 35/32 pants...I bought the Large w/ Regular inseam, and they fit perfectly. They have a somewhat loose/baggy cut, which I love (a few others have complained about it)...allows for unrestricted movement and plenty of room to add an underlayer on really cold days. Adjustable waist, zippered pockets and zippered vents near the thigh are all nice touches. Very happy with this purchase.

Looked all over Portland for a pair of lightweight yet breathable, waterproof, and insulated ski pants that fit and finally went to the North Face web site and ordered the Men's Freedom Insulated pants and absolutely LOVE them. Wore them three days after they arrived and couldn't be more pleased. I need a short inseam and these were PERFECT! If you need a good pair of ski pants to keep you warm, cozy and dry then take my word for it and buy these, you won't regret it.
