The sizes are too generalized. I bought the short and they were still too long and baggy in the legs. I'm 5' 9"

Asphalt gray is practically black, but looks good. Material feels high quality, waterproof and strong. Level of insulation feels good for those like me who only want to own one pair of ski pants and will ski utah, colorado, etc. a few times Dec-Mar. Will be warm enough with a base layer on very cold days, and with vents open, not too bad on warm days (maybe a little warm). My gripe is that these are very baggy - I'm 6'3", 190, 34-inch waste - I ordered a large per the clever sizing tool's instruction, and I'm swimming in these. Regular sizing chart says I may be a medium, but given how huge/baggy the L is, I'm not even going to bother. Regular length was okay. While some may prefer the baggy look, I'm returning and looking for a trimmer cut.

I bought these for a trip I am planning to Antartica. had to return the pants as the size was way too big, almost 2-3 times my normal medium.

Bought a pair of these that ripped the very first day of use. Upon returning to the store with this defective product I have been met with nothing but hostility and subpar customer service from both the employees of the north face at the providence place mall and the warranty department over the phone. While at the store an employee claimed this was normal wear and tear because the rip occurred where a ski boot binding clicks. Really? After one day? That's the kind of product quality you put out? I have had other ski pants that do not have a single tear after years of use, and these rip on the first day. Par for the course according to the north face. Done with North Face for good. Keep making inferior products, consumers love that.
