I'm 5'7" n 135 lbs and having a hard time finding a TNF ski pants that fits nicely. I bought a Small size and Short version with 30" inseam. Length-wise, it was perfect, and i'm glad TNF has a short version for short men; however the Small/Short pants is still too large for men of 5'7" in height or shorter especially at the cuff. Functionally it could work, but wearing it, I feel subconsciously silly and dorky.
I tried my wife TNF Medium/Short LRBC. It fits well, but i need to have something to fill in the butt area. i'm considering buying a M/S womens version as an option, however.
BTW, I bought a Burton XS aK Hover GoreTex pants. It's pricey but fits perfectly. The downside is that it's a thin GoreTex shell without reinforced cuff, so after a few In/Out of the snowboard's bindings, it has a few razor cuts and needs to be repaired.
All said, i love TNF products and its quality, and I really hope TNF would make XS size for small and short men.

The pants arrived as expected. It is a bit difficult to get in the side pockets, but otherwise great for skiing.

These snow pants are amazing for downhill skiing. They allow for flexability and comfort. Along with warmth without many other layers.

Spend most of my normal winter days in the cold & I was tired of so many layers.
It's very inportant to layer in harsh conditions with long term exposure. Although here in Michigan our temps are rare this year I won't be needing so many layers due to the facts. North face gear is more,! More heat! More comfort! More pleasure in knowing I won't need as many layers giving me more mobility! More pleasure, more fun with less trips inside to warm up! I did spend a small fortune, and after making sure it all fit I could tell without a doubt that ever penny was well spent and wasn't that much more for better gear! #letitsnow!

I am reviewing the freedom insulated pants for the purpose of giving my height and weight so that it might help someone else. I am 5'9" and weigh 185 lbs. I have an athletic build, generally wear size medium shirts and jackets, and have a 32"-34" waist. My suit pants are a 34" waist by 29" inseam, and my jeans are a 32" waist by a 30" inseam. I purchased the Freedom Men's Insulated snow pant in size Medium, with the short inseam. They are comfortable with an expedition weight base layer. I am in my mid thirties and appreciate that the fit of these pants is not baggy or relaxed. It is hard to find decent snow pants with a short inseam and these fit the bill nicely in that area. Typical North Face quality.

The Freedom Insulated Pant lives up to The North Face reputation for providing quality ski wear. The pants were paired with The North Face Triclimate Ski Jacket. The pant and jacket is durable and comfortable to wear with sufficient pocket space. On a recent holiday trip that included skiing and a run on Olympic bobsled run I found both the jacket and pant to be a winning combination.

I love TNF and they have been my primary clothing company for all things outdoors for 21 years. I purchased the insulated Freedom pants online and they arrived quickly. I wore them for the first time last Thanksgiving weekend at Whistler and the pocket zipper seam tore from the pant leg. I have never experienced this kind of poor product integrity in over 20 years using TNF. with that being said, I went into TNF store in Bellevue WA and the store manager Kristin Hansen gave me many options to resolve the issue in time for my trip to Lake Tahoe this coming weekend. she was able to take my defective pants and have care send me a new pair, overnighted and in time for my next ski trip.
I dont forecast having any further isssues, as I said before, this is a first time something like this has happened. customer care and Kristin made the experience tolerable(for having to drive to their location and deal with this).

These pants are well made and fit great in the waist and length. Use the "fit finder" here on the TNF site if you're not sure about sizing.
I'm returning them though. This is obviously personal choice, but I can't deal with the flared leg opening. Good ski pants have to fit over your boots, but these take it to the extreme. They're more like bell bottoms. Too much for me. Aside from that, it's all positive.

Bought TNF MEN'S FREEDOM INSULATED PANT to complement my recently purchased TNF MEN'S VORTEX TRICLIMATE JACKET. Pleased with the function. Debated between Large and Medium sizes. Decided to stick with Large to stay roomy in the seat. Had to cinch up the waist to keep hiked up. Kept wind and cold out and remained dry all of which were essentials. Wished the Medium had a little more room in the seat and would have kept that pair instead. Durable through occasional falls and runs through glades.

Ordered these for my boyfriend for our ski trip. We love the North face so we wanted to have a completely north face ski outfit. My only complaint is the size. When using the size chart it said he was on the large end of the medium and the minimum end of the large. When we got those they were super snug so we sent them back to get a large, but the large was slightly big. The good thing though is that they have a semi-adjustable waist (with the velcro) so I think they will work. The best part about the pants is the insulation and ventilation. The insulation will surely keep him warm but if he gets to hot he can unzip the gaiter vents to cool him down! Overall awesome pant!

I wear waist size 32 pants. Previously got the Medium Anonym snow pants which fit me perfectly. This time, I ordered the Medium DryVent Fredom insulated pants. Unfortunately, these turn out to be way too big. Guess these pants fit waist size 36. For the price, the quality is good.

The pants look and feel nice but the sizing chart online said I need a M but they are a bit tight. The length was awesome but waist is tight. I haven't wore them yet so I'm hoping they stretch out or I need to lose a few pounds, ordering a larger size will make the legs longer but unfortunately I can't change the length of my legs.

The pants are high quality. Seams are well made, cuts are precise. However the orange color is disappointing. It's very "vintage" orange. Looks fade. The pants size too big. The North Face size finder tool, based and my actual Levi's jeans size, told me to get L and that's what I ordered. I had to return it and get a M. Which is still too big and too long. This standard fit looks more like a relaxed one actually.

The pants look great but I had return them back. I ordered them regarding to the size chart but did not work well. Anyway I can still say that it woths to buy if you have a chance to try in a TNF store before ordering.

I'm 6'4", 240, in good shape, and finding clothes that fit right can be challenging. So using the sizing tool, I was predicted to wear an XXL Long. That didn't seem quite right, so I went with XL Long - it was like I was a kid wearing his dad's pants - incredibly long and huge in the waist to the point they would slide right out without unbuttoning. And the elastic around the ankles would fit around my thigh.
So I tried a Large Regular - the length is nice, good fit at the waist, but the elastic on the ankles is still huge. Even with a winter boot/ski sock, it would still be huge. And I really don't want snow getting up into the pants.
I really wanted to like this pants - I have a TNF jacket I love - and the build and material seems excellent (hence the 2 stars). But the fit just is not right, especially that elastic around the ankles. Maybe they work for some or most people, but they just don't work for me.
