Great Ski Pants. I'm 5'10" and based on earlier reviews ordered the "short" length which fits perfectly.

After taking the fit test, they told me I needed XL. They were too big everywhere, so exchanged for a large. They fit perfect. Defensively waterproof, as I used them when I was hiking a glacier in Iceland. They kept me nice and warm as well. Im relatively new to north face products for hiking, and I have not been disappointed. I've used their products to hike the Incan trail, glaciers, and casual day hikes. Their products have worked wonderfully for me and I would absolutely recommend. The most important note about these pants is they really block them wind. I was getting hit with 40 mph winds and didn't feel anything through my clothes.

Wonderful snow pants. The color is brighter than I expected. Actually it is a little bigger than I expected too. But it good for beginner ski or snowboard who needs butt pat or knee protector.

I bought this since I went to Fairbanks, AK. The temprature was below -20 degrees, and I wore this pant a thermal underwear, which kept me warm.

Whether I am shoveling out a driveway or getting ready to ski down a mountain these pants keep me warm and comfortable. Even in the coldest of conditions these pants stand up. I would certainly recommend them

These are the best of both worlds. Warm for east coast skiing and light enough for west coast spring skiing.

Probably the best ski pants at this price point. They look good, the adjustable fit works well, and should suit casual skiers well.
The insulation is light and not bulky - I really can't tell the difference in fit or the way they look from the uninsulated pants. Between the insulation and vents, I was able to stay warm on lifts and cool while working up a sweat on the slopes.
I have only used them for one week of west-coast skiing thus far but they look brand new.

I bought this on sale for the next season to go snowboarding. Took me a couple of tries to find the right fit. I usually wear medium. I had to return the medium ones and get small. Fits way better. Nice tailored fit. Not too baggy. Looks great.

Bought the insulated version, performed very well across a range of conditions from quite cold (single digits with strong winds) to sunny and warm (30's), leg vents will come in handy when even warmer! Very comfortable, but a bit looser / longer than expected. Waist fits as expected. My only issue preventing a 5 star rating is the fit.

I've never owned a pair of The North Face pants but saw these online and decided to give them a try for when I go snowboarding. Really glad I did, they're the perfect product for those who spend a lot of time on the slopes! I originally wore leggings underneath to ensure I would be warm enough but eventually took the leggings off because these insulated pants kept me warm in 10 degree F weather no problem! Very comfortable and warm, plenty of pockets to store my wallet, phone, headphones, etc. Quality product, I'll definitely be shopping at The North Face more often!

I love that this a relatively light-weight insulated set of pants that is easy to move in. I was skeptical that they might be big puffy insulated pants, but they are not. I am riding my motorcycle (30-50 mph) in Virginia winter (15-45 degrees F) and don't even feel the cold. I am so cozy and warm its a dream. I don't even wear long underwear- just my slacks for work (and I tend to get cold easily). The gaiters on mine are a little slack because they are meant to go over ski/snowboard boots, so they might not be as snug over your hiking boots. These do NOT have zippers that go up the sides.
SIZING- I am a 29" waist and 5'9" but thought to go with a medium since I was using them as over-pants. Too big. Even though the waist has room to shrink down, the pants are a little long if I don't hike them up high enough. I'm tempted to go in-store to try on a small to see if that is better. I'd rather them long than short when riding, but prefer short to long when walking because the fabric can get caught under my boot. Also, the mobility (which I have in the medium size) is good in these so I can raise my leg high enough to saddle up on my motorcycle. That is important to me so I'll have to check that when I size a small. I don't even know if I'll be able to since it looks like they sold out :/
Even if I am stuck with this size- These are great pants and I'm looking forward to using them for many years to come!

Great product. Used these pants on my last ski trip to Colorado and they kept me warm and dry in the cold Rocky Mtn. temps. Very comfortable for skiing. Non-restrictive. They do run about an inch long but fit well over ski boots.
