I bought this shoe because of its durability. I can wear it on all kinds of hikes, in rain or shine, and then wear it to the bar afterwards because it looks nice, too. I even wear it to work. A con is that its not very breathable due to the weather-resistant interior, and the size is just a bit too big. Otherwise, solid boot. Thanks!

I use the product when it's very cold outside and it provides the best kind of insulation a shoe can give. With its good looks, you don't have to hesitate wearing it to parties and other outings. Definitely a must buy !

I use it for biking in the rain. It is good enough to keep my feet dry. I'm looking forward to use it when it begin to snow.

The style and quality are definitely on par with North Face offers. However, my toes had a little too much room. I'm sizing down a whole size to make sure these break in perfectly for lots of walking. I'll have to leave a more detailed reviewed once I receive my new size.

Great shoes for everything but summer. Tight at fist but loosened up relatively fast hiking through snow. Better looking than the previous design, not as comfortable overall but still def worthy

I wanted a boot that could be worn all day and traverse the icy, slushy sidewalks of New England without looking like I just came in from the backwoods of Maine. These boots are stylish, comfortable, and sure footed. These boots were exactly what I wanted.

I love these boots. They only needed 1 or 2 days wear to break in. They are true to size and width. If I had to pick something I don't like about them. I'd say the color I picked is a little too red for me and the 2 rows of hooks at the top. I prefer eyelets all the way up. Over all... Love 'em.

I have large wide feet (13W), so I bought size 14's, which were definitely true to size. At first the shoe was still a bit tight but after breaking them in a day, the leather expanded and the shoe is more forgiving. The offset reddish, purple color is dark in the images but is lighter in person. Good shoe, but you may want to spend the extra money for a more comfortable insert for everyday use. The stock insert was meant for rugged durability.

I bought these initially for hiking but ended up using them for work in tree care. They're pretty comfortable but the waterproofing has entirely failed at this point (1 year after purchase) and even slightly wet mud is enough to soak my socks. Would not recommend them for anything heavier-duty than shoveling snow or going on a rainy dog walk.

Good for city activities ( I recommended it to 2 city friends and they like them ) , not for outdoor Alaskan winter commuter .

I use these boots for work. I'm a custom furniture maker, so I am on my feet all day in the wood shop. I like the boots, but my feet get unbelievably sweaty. I've never had boots that make my feet sweat like this pair. I would recommend them only for short hikes or walks. Not great for all day use.

For walks with family, outings with friends, grocery shopping etc. Anything more and just after one use they will break. Last year i wore them heavily in toronto, no problem. One walk in wet condition and they are done (walking 20 minutes in light rain). Recommend use....only and only in dry day. So basically if u r out and get caught by the rain they will keep u dry ( not in heavy rain). But if u do get caught in heavy rain, say bye to them. If water gets into them, they will start breaking apart. Do i recommend....absolutely. very comfortable. Keep my feet warm and not hot. And with a care can really last. North face need to ammend the description to water resistant from water proof. Please see the pic of two pairs. Blacks have never seen mid or heavy rain. Brown boots went into one heavy rain.

Purchased from Wild Mountain in Jasper, AB. Not suitable for active wear in Canadian winter. Poor grip on snow and ice, front lace eyelet rivet sticks out inside of boot. In my case, it dug into the big toe bone of my right foot for over a month, until I had the boot stretched by a shoemaker. Perfectly suitable for casual use, they look great. If you're an outdoor winter commuter, go for something more technical than this boot.

It's a stylish shoe but not the most comfortable. For going out or Yard work around the house it serves it's purpose but it definitely isn't comfortable and I wouldn't wear therm for the entire day.

I really like the style of these boots and had hoped they would work out. I appreciate that they are insulated, especially since my feet tend to be cold during the winter months but unfortunately, they do not breath well at all.

I got these to be my daily wear boots for an office job that sometimes requires construction site visits. After about 4 months of wear the toe rubber had de-laminated from the outsole, the glue had dissolved between the leather and the outsole, and many of the tread studs had peeled off. I like the way that these look in the box, but they do not wear well. On top of the functional problems that I encountered, the boot also lost it's shape fairly quickly and began to look stretched out and misshapen. If you are looking for a high top sneaker with a more rugged look this may be for you, but if you plan to use it as an actual boot for hiking, working, etc., I would not recommend this shoe.

I reviewed this product based on a the Back-to-Berkeley first edition...I received my BTB II's in the mail today and am very disappointed that they now fit a whole size too big. Why did you change up the sizing, NorthFace?

Ordered a pair online after reading the positive reviews. I was looking for a shoe I can wear in the city or country to walk around in snow, sleet, or rain. After receiving the shoes, I tried them on and they felt great right away. However, when I started walking around, the insoles and toe area for me was not comfortable at all. The insoles felt rigid and not enough coverage around the toes - felt like the insole was half size smaller than the shoes. As a result, I returned them. Wish I didn't have to as very few options for shoes you can wear all day, that's warm and waterproof.

Great looking boot, great materials. A little wide in the toes. Footbed seems lumpy, uneven and uncomfortable. It seems like there is a depression under the toes. I could definitely see this being an issue for long hikes / walks. Will be returning.
