Quality nicely designed walking sneaker. One flaw overrides all else and I hope it will go away after a breakin period. Every time I take a step air escapes from the heel making a squishing sound.

I bought a 102E which was the size I had in the shoe I was planning to replace. Alas this shoe appeared to run narrow to me and I could barely get it on. I checked that the correct size was sent (well at least it was marked as I expected) and so returned it. But I could feel that the sole of the shoe felt nice as far as I could get my foot in.

Not a sneaker. A work shoe. A little confusing on the site.

This is OK. The quality just doesn't seem to be there. I still use my 812's which are 5 years old and I love them. They used to have narrow sizes but don't anymore except for some styles. I am disappoint in New Balance. Will start hunting again.

Since I have difficulty finding size 16 narrow shoes that fit I typically order several at a time and return those that don't fit well. This was one of the latter. It was too narrow and the toe box a bit tight. I had better luck with the 923 v3 tho.

I wear a size 13 4E shoe. I was hoping for a more flexible and softer shoe due to my having severe neuropathy and Lymphedema on my left side, plus finger toes. I have been wearing New Balance for a very long period. I am trapped because New Balance is one shoe that I usually put my trust into. Lately, your shoes have become inflexible and the leather to hard for the bigger shoes. I should really give the shoe a 2-star rating, but will give it a break.

I tried the shoes for 3 walks and they now will collect dust. I gave 3 stars because the shoe is well constructed but not a good fit for me. Back to the drawing board.

I purchased these shoes believing that they were a newer generation of the 811's that I have that fit well. They're not the same. Although I ordered the same size (11.5 4E) , they are narrower and uncomfortable. Also, I have numerous other pairs of NB shoes and except for the ones with GoreTex, all have ventilation holes to allow perspiration to dissipate; the 813 has none on top nor on the sides. I returned these to NB.

I loved the last pair. This one is not as comfortable. It was not available in your store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, so I had to take a chance and order it online. Also, one minor but important point about all your shoes: the laces are always too long and I have to replace them.

I previously had the NB 847 shoe and it was great until the sole came apart. These looked very similar with same review ratings and were $ 20.00 cheaper so I thought I'd try them. The first problem was the length was longer -- same shoe size 9 4E -- and I had to add heal pads to prevent excessive slipping on the heal. The width was good but length was long in both shoes. The second was the type of shoe strings used will NOT STAY TIED. When walking the dog at a local park I had to retie both 3 times within a 1/2 mile loop. Replace the shoe strings before trying to do any serious walking. With heal pads and new strings the 813 is actually a good shoe. With different string I would give the shoe a 4 Star rating.

I use these for cycling to replace an old pair of 811s with velcro (to keep laces out of the sprockets). They work for cycling, but I would not be happy if these were used more for walking. The elastic on the velcro does not allow a snug to tight fit of the shoe, which I prefer. The 811s do not have the elastic and allow a fairly tight fit, though never as tight as a laced shoe. These would be great if they did not have the elastic on the velcro. As it is, they are OK.

The 928 use to be a great shoe until they started making the tongue way to short which makes the shoe a bother and not comfortable. I had to purchase the 813 because it has a tongue that is comfortable. It isn't the quality of the 928 as far as sole but at least it is wearable. I have complained for years about the short tongue on the 928 so finally had to try another. Next time will purchase a competitor.

I bought these shoes before and they fit perfectly with my braces when I got them this time, my braces won't fit. However, they are very comfortable without my braces.

First time ordering New Balance and these were style MW813 , a walking shoe. The shoes received (1 black and 1 brown) were as described on the web . One pair squeaks a bit as I walk., and both pair are reasonably comfortable. They are not as soft and pliable as tennis shoes; in fact the soles kinda flop on the floor. They do help keep my feet warmer in cold weather and are better than mesh tennis shoes. The leather is reasonably pliable and seems to keep rain and and wet grass out much better that mesh tennis shoes. They aren't my favorite, but they do help keep my feet warmer and dry in cold rainy weather.

Ordered and received two leather walking shoes. Size was fine and the shoes are reasonable quality. However one pair squeaks as I walk. It's not really a squeak but a rub of some sort. They are reasonably comfortable, unlike mesh sneakers, they help keep my feet warm on cold days and dry in the rain. These shoes were NOT made in America as I thought they would be.

I have bought New Balance shoes for over two decades. One primary reason was they were always USA made. No longer. Very disappointed that this latest pair was made in Indonesia! This will probably be my last pair of NB shoes...

813 fits and feels fantastic. It is lighter in weight and appearance is comparable to previous styles. If this shoe holds up under working conditions it should be okay??

The 813 quality is not as good as the old 812s. The tongue is poor quality and not as substantial as the 812. Not sure I would recommend the 813.

I purchased these for my husband, who is handicapped, and at first he loved them, after about 3 days he was complaining that they were too loose and he felt insecure while wearing them. When I looked more closely, the strap is attached with a piece of elastic and it was very stretched out, when I tightened the Velcro strap it extended well past the contact point and it caught on his walker, even though I had trimmed it to the shortest length indicated. He really liked being able to get his shoes off himself and I'm sorry they didn't work out for him, possibly there will be a design modification in the future and we'll try them again.

Expandable stretchy anchor loop for the straps is so stretchy as to be useless. Straps over shoot and stick out, ruining looks. Shoe construction and fit are good, New Balance quality.
