I ordered this by mistake but went ahead with the purchase because I need a nice down jacket. I should have listened to other reviews. I'm 5'7" and 120 lbs. The small is slightly too small. A medium would be too big though. This jacket is heavy. I'm not crazy about the hood, which is not removable. You can put your hands in the pockets but there is very little insulation. The fabric is stiff and noisy. I do believe it would be warm. I think I'm going to return it if I can. Not my best purchase. Do not recommend.

All i can say is that it runs very small. My daughter is 12, 5'3", and 95 pounds. I bought a Small and it fits, but just. Upsize this if you're expecting your child to also wear more than a t-shirt underneath.

My wife was looking for a white coat and really liked the way this on looked on line but when she received it the "LIGHT CLOUD" is was more grey/silver. In addition, the size was smaller than expected. If you regularly wear a large you may consider getting the extra large.

I was very disappointed by this jacket. The photo online looked like a black jacket with a light grey neck liner. The jacket that arrived in the mail, however, looked very different. The jacket looked like a slate grey.

I'm on the fence about this jacket. Pros: the pond color is a lovely cool neutral, darker than pictured. It's definitely warm and seems water and wind proof, which many down jackets are not. The sale price was a bargain. This is obviously a quality product, with nice stitching and thoughtful functional touches such as a soft, sherpa-lined collar and adjustable hood. It's light. The cons: fit and shaping issues. I am short and curvy, busty and hippy with a narrower waist, and usually take a size L in outerwear. This is shaped a little oddly for me. It fits my bust but weirdly, it's baggy just underneath my bust and rather narrow over the hips, and strangest of all- seems tight across my back even where it bags in front. The "fishtail" flares out in back and came out of the box that way so I can only imagine it getting more flared with wear. I don't think an xl would solve these issues as there would be too much pouchiness between the bust and waist, and the sleeves would be far too long. BTW, I figured out how to secure the straps on the side--loop the excess fabric through the buckle again--but they sit so low on me they don't do anything for the shape. Overall this is a very nice jacket but I'm not sure it's for me. I see others here have similar comments. There must be some woman out there in search of a coat with these proportions but sadly I don't think it's me.

I read all of the reviews I could to try to figure out my size. I am 110 pounds, 5'2", 32A bust and slim. I went with the XS and it fit me. The armpit area was a tiny bit tight , but it wasn't uncomfortable, just maybe a higher cut. I do have slightly broader shoulders. I didn't think I had long arms, but the sleeves fit me perfectly so maybe I do! I did not wear this jacket very long because I wasn't sure if I was keeping it. When I wore it outside in 5 degree weather my arms were still cold. I also felt a draft coming up the bottom a bit. I also did not like that the fur on the hood is longer and untamed, just personal preference. You can make the hood tighter to your liking which is nice. I also knew the pockets were on the front of the jacket, which I would prefer them being on the side so I can put my hands in. When I put my cell phone in the pocket and then sat down, the phone was poking me in the stomach. This jacket has a ton of great reviews, so it must be great, it just wasn't for me. The black is a dark grey color with a pretty sheen to it and a heather weave to the fabric. Very attractive.

Hi,I am living in HK now and ordered this product through online two weeks ago after fitting the size in HK before placed this order, figure out M size should be suitable for me. But found M size is totally different from that I tried in HK finally when I got the coat. What's the reason for the difference you know that it's the same model no matter buying in u.s. or HK...now I just want to return it...but it's excellent for the quality and function...

Happy with the jacket, it'll be great for cold, wet weather. Bit disappointed - the color that arrived looks a bit like dark navy rather than "black". In the photo of the black jacket, it has a brown leather tag on the pocket - mine showed up with a black tag. I thought I was sent the wrong color at first, but, none of the three colors have black tags - all have leather. So, bit odd. Wish the photo looked like the actual product that gets sent out.

I wore this up to the mountains when it was snowing. The product really didn't hold up to my standards, but I love the style. I wear it everyday and people think I'm getting ready to go to Alaska, but its not so bad when we got chilly weather and it was raining in portland. The problem was when we had a snowstorm. The jacket didn't keep me warm, and the lining of the collar inside got wet when snow came down. Which can be irritating and itchy to your chin. Also, the jacket wasn't water resistant and was wet on the inside... from the snow :( The only reason why i stayed warm was because i wore the under layer omni shirt and tights and my snow gear. I still love the jacket, but it really isn't as warm as i thought it would be even when zipped up... also doesn't hold well to harsh weather.

This is a warm, stylish (as much as an insulated coat can be) coat. However, it's just too short for a New England winter. If it were 5 inches longer, it would be perfect. I need to return it and settle for something a little uglier, but a lot more practical. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Columbia to make a longer version one day!

I really wanted this jacket to work but unfortunately I think I will have to return it. I am 5 feet tall and have a petite frame so I ordered the XS, which was actually a better fit than I expected but the shoulders and top half was just too bulky. As other reviewers said, the hood is basically useless which is really unfortunate! It is quite heavy but seems like a solid jacket that would have keep me warm this Boston winter if it was a better fit.

I travel a lot between Alaska, Boise, ID, eastern Idaho... So I cover both mild and extreme winter climates. I love how small this coat packs down, but it is a lot thinner than it looks to be in the photos, I was expecting a more heavy duty parka. I level around thanksgiving in Boise I was shivering after being outside for more than five minutes. If you really layered up and had some good insulation on your bottom half, this would be ok for walking around. As far as quality, I always have tiny feathers sticking into my clothes after I take this off, and I'm usually dressed nicer and going to fancier activities so t is frustrating. It may not be bulky, however the collar is designed to protect your neck (and chin?) when zipped up, but when you don't have it zipped up, it is very stiff around your face so nobody can hear you when you speak and it's frustrating trying to look to your side or shoulder check when driving, that kind of thing. So it's very cute, cozy, but with some frustration. I guess I'd say it kind of looks overkill worn in the mild weather it can stand up against, but performs below par in parka weather.

I was so ready to love this coat, but in the end I couldn't make it work, so returned it. I realize warmth is subjective and I am always on the cold side, so I was really looking forward to replacing my old winter coat with one that sounded so warm. The first thing I noticed when I put it on was that the collar didn't fold flat (I guess because of the hood) and it was hitting me in the chin and face. There are snaps on the collar which are metal - and cold - and just plain in the way. The collar is very soft and warm when extended all the way up, which is great, but I don't want it like that all of the time and it was just not functional for me. Second, for reasons I cannot explain my arms were always cold in this coat. My core stayed perfectly cozy, but my extremities were not. It felt like there was airflow going through the sleeves. The cuffs were nice and snug so that wasn't the issue. I tried wearing a variety of different shirts and sweaters underneath thinking I was overdressing or under dressing. I just couldn't keep my arms warm which made the rest of me cold. I tried very hard to make this work - wore it several times in cold and moderately cold weather and was either too cold or couldn't deal with the collar annoyance. There's lots to love about the coat - tons of pockets, waterproof, insulated, and adjustments galore, but unfortunately for me it missed the mark on the basics.

tried this coat on in Pond at the store. I decided to order it online. When it arrived, I thought it would be the same coat, however the inside lining, instead of being black like the one in the store was a bright pink color. Not being one who likes to wear bright pink, I decided to return. However, as I do not live near a store, I must pay return shipping on it. I do see now that the online picture, when looking at the hood you can see a tiny bit of red color, but not at all the bright pink that it is in person. I must say that red would have been fine, but the pink does not go well with the pond color on the outside.

Let me start off by saying that I really wanted to love this jacket. After doing an extended amount of research to find something that would fit my style and budget, I finally decided to go with this model in Peatmoss. I was spending a bit more than planned for something that promised extreme warmth and fit the look I wanted. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed when I put this jacket on. Some of my cons may be pros for others, so please read on. - My main qualm: I am 5'7 and have not had this problem in the past, but the sleeves on this were VERY long. This made them pucker up and gave a much bulkier look than intended or desired. So despite the body being less bulky, the sleeves ruined the overall look and gave me kind of a body builder shape. - I actually liked the matte look, but it made the jacket stiff and uncomfortable for everyday wear. - The placement and shape made it impossible to put my hands in the pockets. - I was hoping for a fuller-looking fur trimming, but it was quite sparse making it look cheap. Overall, this jacket did not work for me, but I liked the leather detailing, color, the fact that I could adjust the waist and wrist width, as well as the less bulky look than most warm jackets that I've tried. If you are a tall girl, maybe give it a try. I will be weary of buying coats online going forward.

Quality/Function: Excellent. All the materials from the outer fabric to the shearling lined neck to the faux fur on the hood are very high quality and feel quite durable. Likewise, the seams, stitching, and hardware are all very high quality. It's very heavy weight and while I only wore it around inside, it was exceptionally warm. I'd imagine with proper care you could get many, many years of use out of this coat. Style: Awful. The problem with this coat is that it's simply too bulky for the cut/style. For reference I am 5'7, 115lb, slender and I ordered the XS. I was swimming in this coat. The sleeves are incredibly long, the shoulders are bulky, the hood (which is not detachable, only the fur trim is) is also really bulky, and finally the torso is very boxy. It's just a bulky overall fit. The waist is adjustable via straps on the outside of the coat, but cinching in at the waist makes the fit even more ridiculous. Picture an unflattering bell shape. And the two front pockets are huge and only serve to make the hip area look even bigger. Columbia tried to make a technical coat look urban chic but completely missed the mark.

I ordered this coat & it arrived. However it is runs horribly small !!!! There is no way it will fit. Never in my life have I ever had this happen. It fits like it's made for a child. I'm 5'3" & ordered a large figuring it'd be roomy...... :(

I really wanted to love this jacket...but... - the coat was heavy and bulky but not warm - the sleeves had very little insulation and were not warm at all - at 50 degrees with no wind, I was not warm enough, especially my arms. - the reflective insulation does not work! Columbia, you let me down!!!

I was really excited about this coat but there were no pockets for your hands. There were pockets that opened on top with a flap but not something you could shove your hands in. Super disappointed. It is 12 degrees here and I am desperate for a coat. I am trying another one but it hasn't shipped yet. It doesn't look as warm but appears to have usable pockets.
