Living in Pa and finally getting a minus 2 below 0 with the wind chill I have worn the coat for the 1st time after getting it. Warmest coat I ever got! Absolutely love it. Fits true to size I would buy. Can't say enough how much I love it. No chill comes through. The hood is a bit flimsy but nothing a scarf or something around the neck can't fix. Highly recommend this! Would love to own 2 different colors!

There were only size larges available in this jack so I was a bit skeptical when I ordered it, but upon arrival I was quite pleased with the fit, it has a nice pull on the inside so you can sinch the waist The back of the jacket is longer and covers your assets nicely,The hood also has adjustable straps so you can control how far it covers your face, I love this jacket it looks great and is very warm

FIT: I am 5'9 and 123 lbs. Initially ordered the XS which I returned because the width of the shoulders was a bit small and the material cut into my armpits. Exchanged for a small and it fits well. Definitely good for tall, slim girls as the arms and body are long. The arm length of the small is perfect (XS would have worked but the small covers my wrists even when stretching my arm and pulling the coat material). XS also would have been fine around the body; just the armpit and shoulder areas were tight. WARMTH: I believe this will be very warm. I am ALWAYS cold and this has kept me comfortable in 30 degree weather and I need to take it off when inside shopping for more than 5 minutes. Haven't had a chance to test it out in colder weather but I've stayed warmer in 30 degree weather than I have in any other jacket I've owned. Was lusting over a Canada Down jacket but I'm very happy with this budget friendly alternative. The omni heat must be working!

I recently moved from a warmer climate to northern colorado and needed a very warm coat, but didn't want a tacky looking huge one. This jacket is perfect! It keeps wind, snow, rain, and coldness out completely. I'm most comfortable when the outdoor temp is around 90 degrees, but with just a little jacket underneath or even only a long sleeve shirt under this jacket, I can walk downtown or on a mountain in the single digit temps and actually be comfortable and enjoy my time outside all year!!! Plus the olive color goes with nearly anything and I get tons of compliments on it.

Got this jacket as a gift and couldn't be happier. I live in MN and am always cold! This jacket is so toasty warm. It's very flattering because the sides can cinch, so you don't feel boxy. Would like a little different structure on the front pockets (you have to put your hands in straight down and not by your hips like most jackets), but that is really minor. Love it!

This is by far the warmest winter coat I've ever owned. It's a little longer and covers your butt without being a "long" jacket. I highly recommend when it dips below 20. It might actually be TOO warm if it's warmer than that.

I couldn't wait for this coat to arrive and, when it did, I was super impressed. This coat is so warm, super functional, long enough to cover my behind, and really nice quality. It's perfect for Wisconsin winter and snowshoeing!

I had been looking for a coat, but was having a difficult time while living overseas finding what I wanted and one that fit. I came across this coat and it was just what I wanted. I am 5'8", 150 lbs. I ordered the large which is a little big, but leaves me plenty of layering room. I like being able to cinch in the sides for a more fitted appearance. The hood comes very far forward, sometimes hard to see, but great for blocking wind. The coat is very warm. I got to test it out in about 20 degree weather and it kept me nice and toasty. The only cold parts were anything the coat didn't cover. As for color, I was hoping for black and went with the India Ink based on other reviews I read. The color, however, is more of a dark navy blue than black. While not exactly what I was looking for, its not a big enough deal for me to return. The only part I'm not crazy about are the front pockets. I would be nice to have a slanted pocket that I could put my hands in as the current styling features a rectangular pocket with the opening straight up. Once again, not a big enough deal since I wear gloves and can access them if really needed. I definitely recommend this coat!

I bought this jacket a few weeks ago, and I am so glad I did. I live in Portland, OR, and we have been having crazy rain lately, but it is also REALLY cold -- the bone chilling kind. This coat has been a lifesaver. Not only is it waterproof, it is also really warm AND is longer than a regular coat, so it protects more of my body from the wind and rain! The biggest downsides to this coat that I have seen so far is that the arms are a little long, and I wish the pockets were a little different (or that they had another pocket from the side that goes behind the front pocket). It is also a little poofy, but it's a heavy winter coat, so I'm not sure how what else to expect. I am relatively petite, but I'm a little bigger on bottom. I went for a M over a small because it seemed to give me a little more room to move around. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, and there are cinches in the sides to help cut down on the poofiness. As far as the hood being useless, I haven't found that to be the case. There are cords on the sides of the hood to tighten it down, and you can remove the fur part if you are so inclined. I have gotten great compliments on this each time I have worn it! It was a great buy.

I bought this coat for Minnesota winters which are typically bitterly cold, windy, and snowy. So far we've had a pretty mild winter this season and its a bit overkill for warmth, but is really comfortable for early morning and late evening dog walks. The coat is so warm that its not suited for activities like shoveling since all of your warm is reflected back at you. But its great for leisurely walks on cold days. I originally bought a large based on some of the other Columbia styles, but the arm holes were too tight and the bottom of the coat was a little snug when sitting. The XL works great for me and these two problem areas are no longer a problem. Customer service was amazing in helping me with the return and purchasing the replacement using the friends and family code I used on the original purchase. Now that I have the right size my only criticism is that the hip pockets aren't really user friendly. They look cute with nothing in them but with a small pair of knit gloves they are kind of bulging. I can't really keep my mittens in these pockets which is unfortunate since that's what I'm used to doing in winter.

I absolutely love this jacket! It fits true to size. I'm 6 ft. tall and 150 lbs. The medium fits me perfectly. I'm glad I read the reviews before buying because they were right about the black really bring grey. However that is what I wanted. Also the reviews about the pockets are true. They are a little awkward to put your hands in when the jacket is zipped. But, this is not an issue when wearing it open. I'm very happy with this purchase! It's incredibly warm and fits me great!

This is an attractive and modern looking coat that runs small. The armholes are cut rather high, and the girth is slim, for a winter coat where you might wear a bulky sweater underneath. For reference, I wear a size 10 shirt in J.Crew and Lands' End, and this coat's medium was too tight, both in the arm/shoulder and around the body.

Let me start off by saying how cold and wet Chicago gets. I wanted a heavy duty coat without the bulkiness and something fashionable. I made a lot of research and I ended up with this. The inner lining is very breathable yet the outer coat is very waterproof. The down is also very very warm. I found the length of this coat to be perfect for someone my height (5"2). Anything longer will make you look like a troll. As for the color, I went in store and tried all 3 colors on: GO FOR INDIA INK! The "black" is really grey and boring looking... In terms of fit, I found the sleeves to be incredibly long. When you lay it flat, the sleeves are actually just as long as the jacket. I hope Columbia will fix this. I also thought the fit was large, so for someone 5"2 and 120lbs, I wished there was a XXS. As for functionality, I thought the front pockets were awkwardly placed! Wished that the opening was not parallel to the coat, but parallel to how your hand extends to the side.

Overall, one of the best winter coats I have. Chicago gets very cold and wet and this is not only very warm, but I love the outer fabric, it's waterproof. The coat itself is very light and the reflective shell on the inside feels very nice against the skin. This definitely is a heavy duty coat for very cold weather with a "city" fashionable design. The ONLY downside I have, that I think that Columbia needs to address is that the sleeves are way too long! The sleeves are actually as long as the coat, when you lay it down flat.

I am one of those weird in between sizes, so I bought a medium, and it fits very well. It has been a long time since I have bought a new coat and I have never owned a Columbia before. There is no doubt that I will keep buying my winter gear from you! I am toasty warm! And I love the way it looks too!

I ordered the India Ink and the color is really nice. The coat is warm and a little heavy, but it's fabulous. The only negative, which really isn't a negative is that the wrist and neck is a little small, you can't wear anything colored with the jacket.

Pros: -very warm, not too bulky, nice length (I'm 5'7" 120 lbs and wear a small) -fur trim attaches with buttons, and the buttonholes in the hood lining are not noticeable when detached, for those of us who don't like the faux fur look. -fleece lined front pockets -all closures are zippers or snaps, no velcro Cons: -"black" is not black, but dark gray. It's a nice color, but the name is misleading -it's a little awkward to keep your hands in the front pockets, although the tops are slightly slanted so it could be worse -no thumbholes in the sleeve ribbing - some Columbia coats have this feature but this one doesn't
