Extremely warm jacket!! I do wish that it had a zipper on the bottom to zip up when sitting.

This jacket is very warm and fits very nicely. The only complaint is the front pockets, which are not comfortable to use. I feel the jacket should have slanted pockets, which feel more natural to use.

I wanted a stylish, but warm and waterproof jacket. This fit my expectations. 5'1, 110 lbs petite girl and XS fit well. It's warm but I think I will still be layering, as usual, during the winter. I'm excited to use this for skiing as well. The Light cloud color is beautiful. However, it is a bit darker than in the photos, which is what I prefer anyway, so it won't look too white.

Haven't worn those outside yet so I can't say how warm it is but I love the look of the fabric and the jacket. Not too bulky or heavy. My only complaint would be the plastic zipper is but I know they probably had to cut costs somewhere. I think it would definitely be worth the price.

I have 2 Lay D Down coats, the mid length and regular and I LOVE THEM. I wore a size Large and I'm 5'2 , 38DD and 165lbs. I've gained 20lbs and the coat still fits but I can't wear even a thin hoodie without it being snug and the XL is HUGE on me, like a Sak. So I didn't know what to do. The woman on the phone suggested this one even though the size dimensions are the same as my other coat. This coat in an XL fits me great and I don't look like a potato sak. Plus I can cinch the waste which I don't need to do. I didn't realize the hood wasn't detachable and I'm glad I didn't because I wouldn't have bought it. But I am keeping this coat. If anyone is worried about the front pockets and not having side pockets for hands, don't worry, it's not an uncomfortable reach at all. I'm short and it's convenient for me and my hands. They sent me Gravel instead of black and it's actua nice. Almost a deep grey. I wish I could upload photos.

This jacket is everything I was looking for: very warm, very comfortable, and very stylish. I love the faux fur on the hood and the cozy collar. The length is great and it's warm without being to bulky. I'm 5'4" 128lbs and the Medium fit well - there is room but I don't feel like it's too big. My only complaint is the pockets - you have to unsnap and put your hands in from the top. Kind of big deal because I pretty much always have my hands in my pockets, especially when it's chilly out. If they would make a standard side pocket - this really would be perfect. But still worth your purchase for sure!

I ordered the gravel color which is actually more of a hunter green. I read other reviews and knew that this was the actual color; I love how the green looks with the fur on the hood and brown accents on the zippers. I have big hips so the coat rides up when I walk which is unfortunate but all the more reason for me to work out intentionally. It's a classic Columbia Omni Heat product so it works great for where I live. It's really comfortable and functional.

I got this jacket in the mail today - first impressions are it is super warm (tried it on to see the fit and immediately got hot). Seems like a great winter jacket for New England. I love the gravel color - a little different but looks great. The linked pockets and lined neck are so soft and warm! I ordered a small (I am 5-2 and about 125 lbs), but it's a little big. I may be between an XS and S for Columbia sizing, but got the larger size, thinking about layers underneath the jacket in the winter. The arms are really long on me - this would be my biggest complaint. I will always buy a petite size if available, so the arm thing may be specific to us petite gals. You can adjust the waist and hoot to taper a little, which I took full advantage of, so the fit looks a little nicer.

I just bought this coat in October & the weather hasn't been cold enough to really test it out, so I can't vouch for how well it'll hold up in freezing-cold foul weather. It *seems* to be of good quality & quite cozy & warm. I purchased the Slate color & I LOVE it! But it is a bit more hunter green than the pics on the website lead you to believe. I struggled (& failed) at capturing the true color of this coat - see my pic for something that's not-quite-accurate, but it's closer than the gray color on the website. Also the website shows the hood w/an orange lining; mine came w/black lining (which is fine by me but might bum some people out). I'm 5'6" 130lbs (35x28x37") & I ordered a Medium. It's roomy. I could have went with a Small & been okay. But some extra room for cold weather layers is a good thing. My one major gripe is that the hand pockets can only be accessed from the top flap. It's not the easiest or most comfortable angle. Plus I foresee collecting a lot of chilly PNW rain in there while trying to keep my hands warm. Overall I'm digging this parka & I can't wait to put all of that insulation & the waterproof shell to the test this winter.

I love this jacket. It has kept me warm so far in the low 20 F degrees. Two unfortunate things are that the rib-sleeve sewing came apart after I washed the jacket for the first time. The feathers also poke out of the jacket.

I purchased this coat recently and have been pretty pleased with it. Pros: - Warm - Nice length (I'm 5' 5") - Love all the zippered pockets and the cuffs - Effective waterproofing - Feels sturdy Cons: - Pockets are a bit awkward, especially wearing gloves - Waist cinching tends to loosen over a couple wears

Love my jacket. Great style and very warm. My only complaint is the adjustable waist does not stay tightened. They loosen within minutes of tightening them up, defeating the purpose. Wish they were better but overall a good jacket.

The color description of this coat is misleading. It's a great coat and all, but the "black" coat is definitely grey. Not even a dark grey, it's a middle grey. I was disappointed to say the least.

Love this coat. I can wear in Chicago winter and have stayed completely warm. The only thing I would change on it is the fur around the hood. I would have like a better quality fur on it, but it is removable.

This jacket fits well and is super warm! The India Ink is a very pretty navy color. I really like the length of this coat (I'm 5'7" and it hits about mid thigh). My only complaint is the buckles on the sides do not stay tight.

I just got this jacket. Looks good so far; it is very light, hopefully, warm as I expect, but as other reviews pointed out, is not black but gray, or at least doesn't look like in the picture. I will update the review next month after I use it in the winter.

I bought this in December as I needed a new winter jacket. My sister swears by Columbia products and this coat was priced lower than a comparable North Face winter coat so I purchased it. The only regret I have is not realizing that a longer coat may need to have a double zipper as sitting in my car with this coat zipped is weird as it bunches up in an odd way and doesn't lay flat. I've solved this by simply snapping the coat instead of zipping it (not to mention the coat seems to get especially warm after my car's heated seats have been on for a little bit). I'm 6'1" and a average/thin build so I ordered a Large - the coat fits well, the sleeves are a great length, the hood is slightly large but livable since I'd rather it be larger than smaller. The waist adjustments don't seem to want to stay in place which can be annoying but again it's nothing I can't live with. Overall it's a warm coat and I'm pleased that my sister recommended Columbia.

This jacket is excellent quality and appears to be extremely warm. I'm not knocking that. Just wanted to let other buyers know about the fit. I am 105 lbs, 5'2 and this jacket is SWIMMING on me. The sleeves are way too long, the neck is way too high (it almost covers my entire face when zipped up) and I'd need about 5 jackets underneath for it not to be bagging off of me. I wish there was an XXS size and a Petite option. Unfortunately sizes have changed so much over the years, and this jacket likely would have been a S or Medium about 10 years ago. Smaller women like myself are getting sized out :( Please accommodate us too! Every body type deserves to be warm. I'd say it's "true to size" for current standards, seeing as XS is actually much larger than it used to be for every brand. *I bought another XS jacket and it's just as big. So this review applies to all Columbia women's XS jackets.

This is a warm, well fitting coat that will be great for this winter when the temperature drops to zero or below here in Minnesota. The one thing I can't figure out is how to keep the hood up. There does not seem to be a drawstring to tighten to keep it from falling off my head. Also, it seems to run a little larger than other coat brands that I tried on.

I'm a slim 5'9" and got a size small. Was nervous at first that the sleeves would be too short or it wouldn't cover my bum (tall girl problems) but it fits perfectly and I still have enough room to layer. The only thing that would make this coat any better is if the hood were detachable and if the black color were actually black since it's really more of a dark metallic gray.

I ordered this by mistake but went ahead with the purchase because I need a nice down jacket. I should have listened to other reviews. I'm 5'7" and 120 lbs. The small is slightly too small. A medium would be too big though. This jacket is heavy. I'm not crazy about the hood, which is not removable. You can put your hands in the pockets but there is very little insulation. The fabric is stiff and noisy. I do believe it would be warm. I think I'm going to return it if I can. Not my best purchase. Do not recommend.

All i can say is that it runs very small. My daughter is 12, 5'3", and 95 pounds. I bought a Small and it fits, but just. Upsize this if you're expecting your child to also wear more than a t-shirt underneath.

My wife was looking for a white coat and really liked the way this on looked on line but when she received it the "LIGHT CLOUD" is was more grey/silver. In addition, the size was smaller than expected. If you regularly wear a large you may consider getting the extra large.

I was very disappointed by this jacket. The photo online looked like a black jacket with a light grey neck liner. The jacket that arrived in the mail, however, looked very different. The jacket looked like a slate grey.

I'm on the fence about this jacket. Pros: the pond color is a lovely cool neutral, darker than pictured. It's definitely warm and seems water and wind proof, which many down jackets are not. The sale price was a bargain. This is obviously a quality product, with nice stitching and thoughtful functional touches such as a soft, sherpa-lined collar and adjustable hood. It's light. The cons: fit and shaping issues. I am short and curvy, busty and hippy with a narrower waist, and usually take a size L in outerwear. This is shaped a little oddly for me. It fits my bust but weirdly, it's baggy just underneath my bust and rather narrow over the hips, and strangest of all- seems tight across my back even where it bags in front. The "fishtail" flares out in back and came out of the box that way so I can only imagine it getting more flared with wear. I don't think an xl would solve these issues as there would be too much pouchiness between the bust and waist, and the sleeves would be far too long. BTW, I figured out how to secure the straps on the side--loop the excess fabric through the buckle again--but they sit so low on me they don't do anything for the shape. Overall this is a very nice jacket but I'm not sure it's for me. I see others here have similar comments. There must be some woman out there in search of a coat with these proportions but sadly I don't think it's me.
I'd also recommend:
