So far, I am very happy with these boots: supple leather, easy on/off despite the full laces, great wedge style and very comfortable for a higher heel. These boots were a Christmas gift. My usual size is a 9½ but they were slightly too large: I could have made the length of the footbed work, but there was way too much volume around the ankles, so I returned the 9½ and ordered a size 9. I could still wish for a tiny bit less volume around the ankle, but overall I am very happy with these. If you are between sizes, I suggest sizing down.

These boots are BEAUTIFUL! The two issues that made me return them are: -I apparently did not read the description well enough to realize they dont have a zipper at all. Too cumbersome to lace up each time I want to take on and off. -There is a brown leather layer on the front of the sole that looks just a little bit off and kind of like work boots. I really wanted to love and keep these as they were so comfortable and cute, but am sad to return them.

Love these, super comfortable! A little expensive for the quality though. The boot is sturdy but the laces are so light, they slip loose and you have to keep tightening them. The loops that hold the laces are definitely going to break at some point. They look and feel great though!

They are very comfortable and stylish. I have received many compliments wearing them. They got with every color. The laces are a little too long, they should have made them shorter.

These are great looking winter boots! They are a cross between fashion boots and ones that can function in snowy/wintry conditions. However, I think these boots run a bit large as I had trouble with the boot gapping around the ankle. I called Zappos' wonderful customer service and they are shipping me out half a size smaller which will be here next day. Hopefully that size will not gap and will still fit my feet.

I ordered these boots in my usual size, which is a 6. They felt a bit big, but I tend to wear thicker socks in the winter, so this did not bother me. I put them on and wore them around the house for a bit when I started to notice that they were "sliding" down my legs and bunching at my ankles. So I tightened up the laces with a double knot, but to no avail. I am not skinny and think my calves are average. These will have to go back. I know that I will not wear them with this issue. Shame because they are so stylish and were given to me as a gift.

I adore the look of this boot. However, I have thin legs and ankles. I played around with the laces for quite awhile and could not get them to stop bunching around my ankle. I even stuffed a sock in that part to no avail. I want so badly to keep these boots, but they just look sloppy on my petite frame. Perhaps a zipper on the side would help with the bunching. I have four other Sorel boots that I am happy with, especially two of their wedge shorter boots. Zappos has the most wonderful experience to try at home and to return if unsatisfied. They get five stars, but I gave this boot only four stars due to the bunching on my leg. Lucky is the gal who can where this stylish and well made boot.

I love these boots. I am plus sized and was worried about how they would fit my calves, but I was pleased and surprised! They are comfortable and can be worn for 8 straight hours right out of the box. Because my calves are wide and my ankles are skinny they do scrunch around the top of my ankles a bit, but with a bit of manipulating the laces you can get a great fit. They are cute and the quality is awesome. What more could you ask for in a winter boot?

Runs about 1/2 size big. I usually wear a 9 in boots and I needed a 8.5 in this boot.

Just got these two days ago. I am a 10.5 on the left and a 11.25 on the right. I normally just wear 11s sometimes finding they aren't large enough. Well, these are great...wearing thick socks (athletic and hiking) and I still have room to spare. Lacing is great because you can really control the width of the calves. I purchased the black boots...tons of compliments the first day. They are really comfortable. Wear them at work in a lab. The wedge doesn't bother me. It's kind of high but not bad (3-4inches).

I purchased these as soon as they came out but wanted to put them to the test before I reviewed. These boots are incredibly comfortable and versatile. Today is the first day I've worn them to work and I've received several compliments and general comments about these kick ass boots. My only complaints are as follows: The laces are obscenely long and I'll need to scour the internet for a much shorter pair. It'd be nice if Sorel included both a long, and short pair. I'm 5'9" and wear an 11; however, my calves are of average size and when the boots are laces right, the sides almost touch; hopefully they won't stretch much. These two issues wouldn't deter me from buying them, they're simply minor annoyances.

Super cute! Have not worn them yet b/c it is still in the 90's outside, but cannot wait. Wanted to make sure I got these since Sorels seem to sell out fast. They are very comfy and the lacing allows it to fit my thin calves....would also work if your calves are larger I think b/c you could just make them looser. I ordered all 3 colors. Brown is my favorite, tbd if I will keep the black also. Did not love the grey. Husband likes. Giving 4 stars b/c I have not worn them yet.

They are OK boots for the price. Fits great, very comfortable, but look bulky.

I returned these boots with the main reason being the lack of zipper. No zipper is a big deal because these shoes have to be loosened up quite a bit to get them off. My foot is an 8.5 and I found these true to size. The calf was bigger than I thought. My legs are thin so I had to tighten the laces up a lot in the leg, which looked funny because they were looser over the foot. It was not a flattering look on me. The boots were very comfortable. I'm not sure about warmth. The tread looked great. I was surprised that the leg part of the boot is just suede... no insulation. The sole of the shoe may block the cold from coming up into the shoe from the pavement, but these boots will not keep your legs warm.

Love the look of the boot. Would have liked it better if the laces were more permeant and boot had zipper to allow foot to go into the boot. The length was ok for me but the toes were too narrow.

I was disappointed in the gaps that appeared around the ankles when laced up. The laces are so far apart that when you lace them up there is buckling around the ankles that just gaps open. I laced them up quite tight and it still did this. I just made them look sloppy and I'm sure would compromise the waterproofing.

Not for shorter, smaller gals. I am 5ft, 1in and 120lb. These boots came right under my knees and made me look shorter. Calf fit but I couldn't tighten well around the ankle, making it loose when walking. Also the laces were very busy and eyes drawn right to them. However the foot was very comfortable. I returned these and bought the Sorel Joan of Arctic Wedge Mid- which I love! Same comfort, lengthens legs, simpler design.

DO NOT BUY Sorel's that have leather shoelace eye hooks! I bought a pair of Cate the Great's through Zappos and before I even had them a year the eye hooks tore. I emailed Zappos and got the standard (yet, friendly) auto response email run around. I got referred to Sorel company directly and also got the run around, despite sharing photos that clearly the boots and their laces were faulty. Maybe the expectation is that these boots are only to be worn one season? I bought Sorel's for their reputation, but if you want quality, do not purchase boots with the leather eye hooks. It's hard to resist the super-cute style of these boots, but unless you plan to have them for under a year, consider another boot!

I am very disappointed in this purchase. I have only had these boots for about a month and the seam holding together the toe box and the suede has already begun to rip. These were really expensive and so I expected them to be better quality. I wish I could get a replacement pair, but since I've already worn the boots, I can't return them.
