Great looking coat! I ordered it on line. When I received and tried it on I decided to return it as I didn't like the bulky fit.

I like this jacket but I was so disappointed they don't make it in petite styles. It didn't fit in the shoulders or arms

It looks great on the website but when I tried it on it was very light weight and I didn't like how it looked. I returned it and exchanged it for the another parka style

I like it, but the Velcro is stupid. Unlesss you're 8. If you don't have the coat zipped & closed up to your neck the Velcro scratches you and gets caught on clothes. Could def do without. The zippper would suffice.

I do like the jacket, and it looks great buttt it does always look dirty. It catches all the lint and just always makes me feel like I need to wash it. It heavy, warm and thick- great winder jacket. I don't think I would have got the black jacket if I knew it would always look dirty.

Didn't love the fit and the color was more dull than I expected. It also shipped with a stain on the pocket so I had to send it back anyway. I love North Face products and I'm side this jacket would be warm and waterproof, but it's a long term purchase so I want to be fully happy with the product.

I really wanted to keep this coat, but the Velcro closure doesn't work for me. It opens way too easily. I liked the snap closure better because I didn't have use the zipper if It wasn't very cold and they don't fall off like buttons do. Who's idea was it to replace the snap closure with Velcro? I'm not a child.

The fabric wrinkles easily and attracts lint. It looks like a cheap quality, but still warm enough for winter.

For reference, I'm 5'3, about 125 pounds, waist 26 in, hips 34 in. Pros: Length and overall fit - it falls right above the knee for me (I'm much shorter than the model), and the sleeves are long enough to keep me warm but are not TOO long (there's also a little stretchy insert at the end of the sleeves, which you can easily tuck into gloves). There's a little scrunch in the back of the coat, which gives the overall fit a bit more shape. MOST IMPORTANT: will fit an average-bulk sweater underneath without the torso or the sleeves being too tight, which is a huge plus. The hood is nice and snug. Cons: Not warm enough for the Chicago winters. I bought this specifically because it was recommended as a good dog-walking jacket (husky mom here - he throws fits about having to come back inside between October and March, so I need to be prepared lol), and the coldest it's been so far when I wore it was 25 degrees F, but I can't say it actually kept me completely warm. For the price and highest "Warmth" rating, I definitely expected more. It would be okay for typical running-to-the-car or even walking-to-the-train purposes, but unless you wear realllllly warm layers underneath, this wouldn't be enough for anything longer than that. Also, the outer shell material somehow seems to attract an absurd amount of fur, which isn't easily brushed off, and that alone would not be the dealbreaker for me, but I did not expect it in a waterproof jacket. Overall, I'm keeping it because I didn't realize all of the above until I'd already worn it a few times and actually have a warmer jacket from a different company already, but if you're looking for something that will keep you warm in terrible temperatures for an extended period of time, I'd keep looking.

The goods: This coat is very warm, durable, and the quality is great. I bought the marron purple which is a nice option against a sea of black coats. I'm a commuter in a city, so this coat has been outside in the elements and done the rounds climbing into and out of public transit with bags in tow. The problem: After a year of using it I find the Velcro closure to be very impractical during a season when lots of knit items are worn. Hats, scarves, sweaters, and mittens have all been caught and snagged by the Velcro and it's so hard to avoid! I can't even hang my other wool coat next to it because it catches that too. Also the Velcro running all the way to the bottom and one snap doesn't make any sense. Any time I sit, it pops open anyways. The score: I'm giving 3 stars because of the impractical use of Velcro with winter clothes and the solutions are either spend $ to replace the Velcro with snaps or not wear my warmest garments...so I'm paying to switch out the Velcro. I'm committed to using the coat because I it was quite the financial investment but will avoid that closure feature from here on. I recommend TNF reconsider Velcro as well.

The outer flap is secured with velcro strips instead of a snap. This velcro gets stuck to everything, my hair my scarfs anything it touches. Now the velcro is filled with lint from everywhere and I have to keep cleaning it out so i doesnt look dirty and gross. Super annoying

Had this coat from 3-4 years ago and LOVED it. Gained some COVID pounds and so wanted to get another one in a different color and one size up. Very disappointed in the changes made to the coat. Earlier version had some waist definition; this has none. Like wearing a trash bag. Earlier version had snaps to close over the zipper; this one has Velcro. Earlier version had nice, tight wrist enclosures with thumb holes; this version has floppy wrists where cold is just going to enter. Still warm, still a nice cozy lining, but I ended up sending it back. Not good enough at this price point. Please bring back the old version, North Fave!

The fit is a bit off. Arms are long, as is the length of the coat. Short in the shoulder area and a bit snug around the hips. A 2xl is usually big on me and this one wasn't. The hip tightness makes it weird to zip

I got this one last year. And it came full of dust, upsetting. But , it was easier to send to the dry cleaner than return it. My mistake, I have the black, it's a dust magnet. I don't like it. It looks dirty. However it's super warm. You will not be cold with this one.

This coat went down to my knees, and was very broad in the shoulders. Its very bulky on a petite frame. I am a XXL but only 5'2. Have to return.

Super warm and impressively light and packable - unfortunately, the fit isn't very forgiving for larger bodies. A large fit around my hips snugly (I'm 5'1" and 165 lbs) and was ludicrously wide in the shoulders. I had to return.

Thinner then expected. It feels like a shell jacket but it does have a soft inner lining. Came in quickly. Size is accurate. I'm 5'1 and it hits my knees. Idk why I thought it would be shorter. I normally wear a large but I did get an XL to wear thicker sweaters underneath and like to have room . I do recommend especially for the price.

I love the coat. Preparing for a trip to Iceland in Oct and I knew I needed something warm, water proof, and wind proof. My only issue is that it's not forgiving in the thigh area. I ordered a 3X for room as I usually wear a 2X in coats and the 3X honestly wasn't that big of a difference in room as the 2X. I'm keeping it because it is warm and I love the color and style. Just wish sizing was true to size especially since this coat isn't cheap.

Glad to have gotten this coat on sale. I think it will be good in a storm. Too heavy for everyday use.
