So far it's great for Midwest winter. It has kept me warm in below freezing temperatures. I love that not only is the hood removable, but you can keep the hood attached and remove the fur lining.

I finally broke down and purchased a parka, and I am so happy! The size fits as expected, no problem wearing a sweater or sweatshirt under it.

I didn't like the color.

This is truly the best investment ever! I had many so called "warm" jackets and they were anything but that. It's really hard to decipher which is what unless u put it to the test. And boy did it do everything it described it to do, not only does it keep you warm, it keeps the wind from penetrating into your body, keeps you from getting wet in the rain or snow. The coat is a little bulky but not restricting. But then again what coat isn't? It is really stylish too which is great. I usually wear large, it was a snug fit without a sweater on so I opted for a size up to have some extra room for comfort. The Jacket is so warm u don't really need any heavy sweaters under. If you're looking for a quality durable warm jacket this is the one for you. It is pricey but think of it as an investment. Worth every penny!

This jacket arrived and is everything I dreamed it to be. The jacket has the warmth for the coldest days, but is stylish enough to wear out for a night on the town. The navy blue is a nice mix up from the typical black that everyone else is wearing. Excited for many years of warmth from my new favorite jacket!

I bought the Arctic Down parka couple weeks ago and I have been very happy with it. Based on the FitFinder algorithm, my size was Medium, but wanted a snugger fit, so ordered a small (for reference: 5'4" 125 lbs). The fit turned out to be perfect. The length hits slightly above the knee so keeps me warm and I love the hidden fitted cuffs that keeps the winds away. Bought the medium heather grey color which I find to be a very versatile color.

I just received my Arctic Parka and it's perfect! Exactly as advertised on the website and looks even better in person. I had been going back and forth between a large and a medium as I was worried the large would look too bulky. I'm so happy I went with the large as the coat is stylish enough that it fits loosely and comfortably, but doesnt look like a sack.

This is a perfect jacket for cold weather living. I don't think it's suitable for outdoor backpacking or winter sports but is a comfortable and warm jacket for cold weather. The waterproof and wind proof material makes chilly and snowy days a breeze. Highly recommend. Warning! Jacket runs small. I'd consider sizing up.

I bought this coat to keep me warm for the cold winter ahead. I was not warm enough last year. I normally am a small but wanted to have room to wear warm sweaters under the coat so went for a Medium. I am 5'5" and 123lbs. This gives me lots of room, maybe a little too much but is so comfortable and warm. It is a bit thicker than what it looks like in the picture but overall this coat is comfortable and will definitely keep me warm walking around DC on the cold winter days.

I am a professional in a capital city in Europe with a lot of wind and rain. We tend to go around on bicycles a lot and do not use public transport or cars very much, so I needed a jacket that was warm, water proof and wind proof, but which at the same time didnt make me look like I was about to go on an expedition to the north pole. This jacket fits the bill!

Great for commuting in the rain and snow, I have never felt cold or drafty when wearing this coat.

The past two years have been some rough winters in Maryland, with temperatures getting down into the teens/negatives with wind chill in addition to our blizzard last year. Even in those temps, this coat almost makes me sweat. It requires almost no under layers. I bought a size up to make room for sweatshirts and layers and it was not needed, though it still fits just fine a bit larger. The coat hits my knees and when you walk into the cold there is a distinct difference. It is like wearing a protective shield when you go outside. Absolutely amazing. Have had this item for two years and it still looks brand new.

I needed a warmer winter coat as I've always been cold in the past and decided on TNF after getting my awesome snowboots last year as my Christmas gift. I love this coat I tried the Far Northern on in the store for a size comparison and decided it would be too heavy/warm for my needs. I needed something that would be warm in the winter for walking in the cold shopping, taking the dogs out on long walks and light play in the snow. This fits all my needs it is stylish, the fit is great and I am able to stay toasty warm. My husband got this for me as my birthday gift this year and I couldn't be more pleased!

I bought this parka for my girlfriend. We are traveling to Europe this coming December and needed a jacket to keep her warm. Based on reviews we decided on a green medium, she is 52, and weights 128lbs. Fits her perfectly, has room for a sweater underneath, but not a bulky one.. a small would not have worked for her. She loves her parka! Thanks North Face!
