I bought this parka to walk the dog in mid-winter weather that typically gets down in the teens (before windchill). It is slim-fitting and stylish but WARM, and surprisingly lightweight given how warm it is. The hood is amazing-I no longer need my turtle fur to protect my neck and it keeps my head, ears and neck warm. It was also a great value given how warm it is.

It keeps me warm while I take my dog for a hike!

I wear this coat in the cold Wisconsin winters.

I needed a jacket because I'm going to Alaska. So I made sure to do a lot research because if I'm going to buy something I'm not going to waste my money. I tested this jacket out while I was in the Poconose. The temperature was 3 with wind. And I didn't feel a single thing. I'm not sure how the jacket will do wet but if you're buying it for a cold windy day this jacket is perfect. I also am 5'6" and 34DD and a bit of an athletic built. So I wanted to make sure the jacket had room in the sleeves because I hate when my arms are restricted in jackets. Typically, I wear a medium or a large but I got the jacket in a XL and I'm glad I did.

I am usually an XL at TNF. Using the fit finder, it was recommended I order a size up (due to my fit preferences and carrying my weight in the belly). This proved to be the perfect size! The back seams, darting, and elastic at the high waist make for a girlish silhouette.

This is my favorite, warmest coat and it isn't nearly as bulky as other down coats that I tried. I like that it has the hard/ windproof outer layer which adds to the warmth as the cold can't get in. Hood is a bit big and doesn't stay on my head very well, but if I'm wearing a hat it all works out.

I go to school in South Bend, IN, where the temperatures can drop so low. I just got this coat and I am in love with it! It's loose enough that I can fit a couple layers under, but it doesn't look bulky at all. I have already gotten so many compliments on this jacket, and I would definitely buy it again!

I wear this coat both to work and for walks. It is very light, warm, comfortable, and stylish. Good size pockets with zippers are a bonus. Every small detail is well thought through. It's the best coat I've ever had. Love it!!! The only thing I don't like about it is black fir on the hood (I've got a white coat). I would prefer brown fir but it's possible to take it off, so it's not a problem.

I wore this in 20 degree weather and it kept me warm. It wasn't to bulky or heavy and I love the slimming effect of this Parka

I bought this jacket for a three week trip to Paris in January. It was perfect! I was warm and dry the entire time. The jacket is comfortable and easy to move in. The pockets are warm and the hood is big enough to wear over a hat if necessary. Great purchase!

Great winter coat! I have a mile walk to work and this coat keeps me warm in the cold Midwest winter. I haven't experienced feather shedding.

I had bought this coat and then returned it. But after I couldn't find something else that was just as lightweight, fitted and stylish I rebought- and I'm so happy I did! Love the double zipper on the jacket (I'm constantly zipping the bottom up when sitting in my car). The sleeves and length are as expected- love that the back is a little bit longer. The pockets are warm (fleece lined) and the hood is removable (and the fur is also removable). The waist has a fitted look which is flattering. Overall would recommend to anyone woman!

Great winter coat! Love it

Too small and tight around the chest and waist area.I recommend using the size chart. I usually wear medium but it's def too tight. It's a beautiful coat! I have to return it and right now the L size is out of stock so I'm super sad about it. Hopefully I will get lucky and find it in stores when I return this one.

Love love LOVE this coat. I am someone that is always cold and this coat has changed everything!! Thankful that I now look forward for my walk to work because I know i'm not going to freeze my butt off!

I bought this in store. It's SO warm. I love that it's waterproof, windproof, and I find it MUCH more comfortable than my outer boroughs parka. (Less restrictive). I'm 5'10 and the sleeves are long enough in the size large! I'm normally a medium in NF, but for the length (and being able to wear a big bulky sweater underneath,) I sized up. I love this jacket!

This is a very warm winter coat. Perfect for cold weather. I will purchase another in a different color. Highly recommend.

I live in New England and for years refused to buy a "puffy" jacket because of the style/fit. This is a perfect compromise for warmth and style in the freezing NE winters!

I'm so glad I got this parka! It is so comfortable. It's perfect for walking or monitoring my first grade class on the playground. It's very flattering, especially when fully zipped. When I first got it I was skeptical about whether I should've ordered a larger size, but I'm glad I didn't exchange it. It is a form fitting jacket, but I'm able to completely move and bend in it. I'm consider myself to have an athletic build at 5'6" and 145 lbs and I got a medium. I love it!!

This coat keeps you so warm and dry. I recently used it when I took a trip to the Alps. It kept me nice and toasty and dry from all the falling snow. I also got a lot of comments on how nice the coat looked on me.

100% windproof, rather warm and lightweight. My first parka from The North Face and I'm totally in love. Highly recommended.

My wife loves this coat. I covers everything down to her knee and keeps her incredibly warm. It's in the 20s in nyc and she can walk or wait for the bus without a problem.

Absolutely love this jacket. It is lightweight, comfortable, and stylish. And most importantly it is warm! I bought this in the purple and it is a dark purple and matte (not shiny as others have reviewed, but not sure which color people stated was supposedly shiny). For size, I went with the recommended size after doing the fit finder quiz. I am a true medium (5'7", 140 lbs). This coat does not stretch in the shoulders or anywhere for that matter, so if you are on the fence about size, I suggest sizing up. I would not be able to wear a super thick shirt underneath this comfortably. My only complaint (and a minor one at that) is if I have the jacket zipped and am getting into my vehicle it is a little tight on my legs, but this can be alleviated by pulling the jacket up slightly when getting in.

I had been searching for months for the perfect parka to wear on my recent trip to Italy over the Christmas holiday, and after much deliberation, I went with this one. I was hopeful, as the coat I wore on the same trip the year before left me cold, miserable, and unwilling to participate in pretty much anything that involved going outside. This year couldn't have been more different - The Arctic Parka kept me so warm in -5 Celsius with strong winds (and with only a light sweater and a t-shirt underneath) and made my trip so enjoyable as a result. I definitely would not have had the holiday I had, if I did not purchase this coat. The hood is great, the insulation is evenly distributed and it's super lightweight and wearable. This was the best decision, and best investment, I have ever made, and i'll forever recommend this coat to anyone and everyone that'll listen.
