These shoes were not as comfortable as the other ASICS have previously purchased.

i wanted to love these shoes but I do agree with other reviewers--they are narrower than usual and thus ended up being impossibly uncomfortable.. They're so darned cute! But I do think you need a narrow foot for these to work.

I'm really disappointed in these shoes, I've lived in Asics ever since I was diagnosed with Planters Fasciitis and have always felt these shoes were a bargain related to the pain, but in just a few short months these shoes have lost their support.

This shoe looks nice and is very comfortable, BUT the quality is VERY poor, especially for the price... I bought a pair 4 months ago and the sole is already coming apart in the front and back- the whole back of the right shoe is flapped open. I only wear these shoes 3-4 days a week while at work, so there is not a lot of wear-and-tear. I have owned many pairs of Asics and this is the first pair to do something like this. I am very disappointed!

I have had 2 pairs of the 20th generation and so when it was time to get new shoes I bought this one and was disappointed to find that the cushioning is less and the toe area is more narrow. I didn't even run in them I walked around and by the 4th hour I was wanting my older ones. My toes were squashed so it made my feed feel tired and My arch did not feel very supported. I overpronate and need the support. So sad. I loved the 20th gen model and now I have to go shoe shopping again. I had to return it. thanks zappos for being so flexible...Love it!

I have been wearing GEL-Kayano for years and have always loved the shoe. I could even wear half a size difference and still find the shoe amazingly comfortable. I could always put on a pair and go running first day no problem. So. I was extremely disappointed when I put on the GEL-Kayano 22 and found the shoe has been changed to a completely different shoe. The front is much tighter and no longer comfortable. And the fit overall is tighter. To be fair, it is probably a decent shoe and if you order a size up, then it may fit fine. I am still in the throes of disappointment though that Asics killed my favorite shoe.

I'm so disappointed in Asics right now. I have some Kayano 20s and I love them and I think the 21s are okay too - I need to try to find some of those. Don't know why they changed them but the do not feel like the same shoe at all and at this price it's awful.

I've worn Asics Kayano or GT for at least 15 years and this is the first time that a size 8D was too small. The shoe comparably was at least 1/2 a size smaller than previous pairs except for the last pair of GT's which were much shorter than they have ever been in my size. Every time I buy Asics there is a hole in the back of the inside of the shoe within months. This time 2 months total of wearing them. Thank you Zappos for being amazing and sending me a new pair. Next time I will definitely have to reconsider whether I buy Asics again. Too bad they fit well at first.

As some other reviews have mentioned, the toe box is not just narrow, it is cramped, so my toes hit the top (just resting). I am a big Asics fan, but these shoes feels like they were made by a different company all together.

I've purchased ASICS before as a running shoe and have never had any problems...until now. This shoe offers very little support. After the first few weeks of running, I thought the uncomfortableness was just breaking them in but now 2 months later I know it's just a shoe with crappy support. I wish I could return them and now I'm stuck with having to go buy another pair after spending so much money of what I thought would be a comfortable pair of shoes after reading all the reviews. I would suggest finding another shoe if you plan to do anything but walk in them!

These were horrible. I love Asics. I run every day. I couldn't get my foot in the 8 and half. What's up with this company. You're going to lose out big time.

I know the ratings are high on this shoe but for me they appeared cheap and flimsy for the extraordinarily high price. The shoe is made of some flimsy material which had me feeling as if there was no support at all.

I have worn Kayanos for years without any issues and this is the worst generation ever. I am not sure if it is a change in manufacturing - but there is no cushion in the bottom of the shoe - you can feel the running/walking surface through the bottom. After my third wearing, these shoes caused my feet to ache and my alignment of my knees to be off. I had to stop wearing them. That was an awfully expensive lesson. I am going to try inserts to see if it helps.

I have worn ASICS for years and have yet to find a style that compares to 2 identical pair I had previously. The Kayano 22 WIDE is NOT WIDE. I tried the regular/medium width also and they both feel the same. Hate this as now I have had to move to a Brooks shoe that is fine but I still prefer the detail and color choices of the ASICS.

Like so many other reviewers, I've been wearing these shoes for a while now. I saw all the comments about this latest version feeling narrow, so I ordered them in wide. I have relatively wide feet, but have been fine in a regular width in these. They arrived yesterday. Love the color combo, but man, did they look narrow! Tried them on -- and they didn't just look narrow. Good grief...just sitting on the couch, they made my feet sore. (And again, I ordered the wide!) Sadly they're going back and the search starts. I work on my feet (on an unforgiving concrete floor) and have struggled with plantar fasciitis on and off. Really disappointed to have to find a new gym shoe.

Either my feet have dramatically changed (which is poss) or the shoe has. Normally a little wider and more comfy...well...it is not now. Not very comfy either...I wish it was! I like the style and considered keeping it; however, it is just too uncomfy to wear, run, exercise and walk in.

Everyone saying these run too narrow is correct. I've been wearing Gel Kayanos for a decade, and this is not the same shoe. Could barely get the medium width on my foot - felt the shoe cutting off my circulation as soon as I tried to walk. Foot bed did not seem the same, either - not as much arch support, and weird band that could be felt under the toe area. Very disappointed. Asics should be doing better quality control for a shoe in this price range. Zappos, please pass along our feedback.

The same shoe I have been wearing for a year and a half but felt worn and had no support. The shoe left me with awful shin splints every 2.5 miles and I usually run at least 8 miles three times a week.

These shoes feel stiff, run very narrow and a half size small as well... Not nearly as comfortable as the GEL-Kayano21 pair I bought last year. They are going back.

Why, oh why, do shoe companies change a really good thing? I have worn Kayanos for years and loved the fit, the comfort, the support. Color me sad: this new model is a cheap, unsupportive, but no less expensive version of the previous Kayanos. How bad is it? Well, I was recently in London and walked nine miles in these shoes one day. My feet hurt so badly by the time I returned to my hotel that I actually left the shoes there. The arch support was virtually non-existent. I had blisters on the tops of my toes and the two outside toes on each foot...which tells you a lot, since I always buy the wide width and have never had this issue before. A nine mile walk is nothing and previous Kayanos have stood up to the challenge. Shame on you, Asics, for messing with what was once a really great shoe. I am now on the hunt for another brand.

The picture looks much better than the real product. The material looks cheap and color combination is hideous. They are also very narrow.

So sad! What happened to Asics? These killed my feet cushioning sucks and the toe design blows. It makes your foot look long and skinny. I have been recommending Asics for years, now I don't think I can my last pair of 21s only lasted 3 months (I work in these and typically get 6months before I start to notice a break down, the 20s were awesome). I hoped the 22s were better, sadly no! I'm going to try the Nimbus again I only changed to the Kayano thinking bigger (in price) had to be better.

The toe box is way too narrow! Same size as my previous GEL Kayanos, but now I need to find a new running shoe.

Asics, what the ___ did you do this sneaker? This was the only sneaker that sort-of fit my bunioned feet and gave me some support. Now you've made the toe box smaller and suddenly the shoes in wide are too tight. I'm incensed.

these are my favorite shoes at first ever but ASICS is thinning out the heel area fabric - even though I take them on and off by unlacing the backs shred and have no fabric left in just 5 weeks
