These aren't my favorite sneakers but they are excellent quality and the cushioning is pretty good. I'm not sure the value is there because for the money I expected a bit more. My Brooks Ghost seemed to have better cushioning and was less expensive. I will definitely go back to Brooks for my next sneaker purchase.

This is my third pair of Asics but my first try with the Kayano - I always bought the Cumulus. Kayano is very cushioned and comfortable. It has a narrower profile than the Cumulus, especially in the toe box. It definitely feels more snug and seems to run smaller than the Cumulus, in which I wear an 8 (my non-sneaker shoe size is 7 to 7½). But I kept the size 8 Kayano and will just wear thinner athletic socks. These gel Asics have been great for aerobic workouts and walking/running.

I have worn a couple different models of the Asic Gels over the years. First time for Kayano. I wear 4½ medium shoe, take a 5 medium in other Asics sneakers, and found these Kayano 22 in a 5 medium were snug in width and short in length. The toe box was cramped pinching big toes and squeezing toes into a narrowed toe box. The big toes hit the top of the shoe box as well. The fit does not seem to be accurate for me. I am in process of exchanging the usual 5 medium Asics Kayano for a 5½ medium Asic Kayano 22. I just returned a pair of Vionics sneakers in a 5 medium as too much room in toe box, and severely irritated and inflamed my medically diagnosed heel spur. Zappos is a wonderful company to deal with, however at this holiday time of year I have more to do than to buy sneakers online and keep returning to try out a new size. I think the Asic Company needs to address these complaints and fix this model shoe. Great arch support. But the width, length and toe box do not seem to be a problem for me.

I always buy the same shoe in the same size when I find one that I like and this has been my shoe even when it has updated versions. I have wide feet and wear a 10W women's and they have changed the shape of the toe box so it is too narrow. Bummer as I do not know what I will wear now. I am trying a 9 mens in the same shoe or looking for older versions that are still around.

The color is a bit brighter than I was expecting, but these shoes are really supportive for people like me with plantar fasciitis. The bottom is strong and stable and the shoes are pretty lightweight compared to other shoes that help with plantar fasciitis. The shoes run a little big. I am normally a size 8½-9 in women's but had to get an 8. I have tried a few other brands that are supposed to be good for support (like Brooks) but I have noticed that my feet feel much better in Asics. I will continue buying these shoes for a while.

These are the best running shoes I have found for my long, narrow feet. They are super comfortable, fit well and look great, too! I did find that this model ran a 1/2 size smaller than the 21s, so you might want to order up.

I am one of those people that have a hard time finding shoes because my feet are so narrow. So when I read previous reviews of this shoe saying that it was narrow, I assumed it would fit me perfectly. But I was surprised to find that they are way too narrow! The length of the shoe was fine and they were very comfortable despite being narrow, so I am going to try and reorder these shoes in a wide and hope that works.

This shoe saved my feet on a recent trip abroad. Plantar fascitis nearly ruined the trip, but these were like clouds under my feet. I really like that they're in between a neutral and stability shoe. Good arch support, amazing cushioning, and no harsh medial post. Only downsides are that they get a bit hot and that the cushions meant I didn't have as much "grip" and connection with the ground as I would like when hiking. The heat (and crazy colors) are why I gave it only 4 stars.

I loved the Gel Kayano 20 for the nice wide toe-box. Unfortunately, these were just not quite as comfortable.

Narrow! I love these sneakers, but had to order a wide because the medium width was tight across the toe box, even when I tried a half size up. I have never in my life ordered a size wide in any shoe before, so (like many other reviewers), I think these were just very narrowly sized.

I've bought Gel-Kayano's for as long as I can remember and never had an issue with fit. This version is definitely more narrow in the toe box. I exchanged for a 1/2 size larger, and it still feels narrow. Not sure I can use them for running as I am training for a marathon so not worth the risk. I'll exchange for another pair of 21's instead.

Boy was I disappointed with this model; too roomy, no support. I do not know what Asics did with the top of this shoe; it is not the same and my foot just moves all over the place when I run. Unfortunately, I am returning them.

I was disappointed to order both the blue and the black in this style and find radical differences in sizing. The black pair felt noticeably smaller in length and width - possibly 1/2 size or more. That said, overall the shoe provided a wide toe box and the arch support I need. Due to injuries and a small frame, I prefer a shoe with less cushion and find that the Kayano - while great for others, is too substantial for me so, I will be returning both pair. Otherwise, a great shoe! And of course, 5 star service from ZAPPOS!

I have been an asic Kayano wearer for many years and believed there was no better shoe. I have a somewhat wide foot with a slight pronouncement. These shoes were perfect. They started making them slightly more narrow so I had to go up half a size. But the worst part is that the 22 and the 23 wore down so quickly they started causing pain in my hips and knees after 3 months. My other Kayanos lasted at least 6 months but these only lasted half the time. I thought maybe it was a fluke with the 22 so I tried again with 23s but I found those too broke down after 3 months.. So bummed but after almost 20 years wearing asics I'm considering another brand. Come on Asics, get back to making fewer shoes that have the quality that built up the Asics name. These shoes are disappointing.

I also have been wearing this model for 10 years, and found THIS pair pinned in the toe box. Annoying & costly because I didn't really feel the discomfort until after I went for a workout.

Have been a loyal Asics Gel Kayano customer for years, but my newest pair of Kayano 22 have been a big disappointment. Not sure if anyone else noticed this problem, but Asics has redesigned the Kayano 22 toebox and made it narrower from the top. It appears the show curves up at the front, which results in a narrow toebox. This means the top of the shoe hits my toenails, and I had a terrible experience with sore middle and third toes on both feet. Never had this problem with my Kayano 21s, and I hope this desing flaw will be corrected in the Kayano 23s.

As many others have noted, while the 22 seems to have an improved heel 'grip' fit, for someone who never normally buys 'wide fit', even the wide fit option for the 22 was too tight and uncomfortable. Very disappointing as a 'serial' Kayano buyer of some 4 generations, I had to return the wide fit and look elsewhere for an alternative to the Kayano 22.

I have been ordering Asics Gel Kayanos for several years. 8.5 med is always a perfect fit. This time the fit was a little narrow. I did read that in other reviews but decided to try anyway. Bumping to a 9 would feel too big I think. Wore them once and they were tight (pain between the balls of my feet) but hopefully they will stretch. Can't return now...not real satisfied. Still baffled WHY Asics has to change a good thing every year. What is the point of branding (Kayano) if it's different every year! All that said...they are very cute.

Hard to rate because they are so small I can't really wear them! I have to agree, the sizing has changed. I had two pair of Kayano 21s that fit great... but these are way too small. Going back. Hoping a different style will run larger!!

Wow...this is way too narrow for my skinny foot. It fits more like a "slender" and even 1/2 size larger was a bit too short. I would order full size up and try a medium for width to expect any satisfaction. I am returning this otherwise comfortable shoe.

I read the reviews about this being smaller than the Gel Kayano 21. The length is correct. The problem is the toe bed. It slopes down and is narrower, which crowds my toes. I miss the wide, higher toe bed of the Gel Kayano 21 and previous.That was what set it apart from its competitors. Don't know if a wide width would compensate. I'm returning mine.

Loved my precious Asics, but they have changed their shoe. They have shortened the shoe by about a 1/2 size compared to my other Asics so I went up a 1/2 size. They are also more narrow and less supportive than previous years. Now I am going to wear Saucony.

Love the look of this shoe, however it runs small. Small and narrow. I hated returning it.

I have been wearing Asics Gel-Kayano for a number of years. This model seems to fit well, but for me they are everyday shoes. I do not care for the new mesh or the molded material rather than the stitching. They look cheap. I am going with a Saucony instead. Maybe Asics will go back to the previous design.
