Second pair, cumulus 17 feels less substantial. Hope it holds up. Switched from mizuno wave rider for same reason.

My first-ever "real" running shoe was the Gel Nimbus. I purchased 5 or 6 in a row, then decided to branch out and try other brands. Now I'm back to in Asics. I was torn between the Nimbus and Cumulus. I had a great experience with the Nimbus, but seriously hated the look of the 17. I know you're not supposed to get hung up on color, but they were all so ugly! After reading a pretty compelling review on the Cumulus (and falling in love with the silver/pink/blue), I decided to give these a try. I like them! I think the Nimbus has more cushioning, but you can tell the Cumulus is built for high-mileage. I am a neutral running with back issues, and these give me great support. Note that I was back and forth between a 9 and 8.5 and sided with the 9. Hope this helps!

Love the color, and pretty comfy. I was expecting a bit more cushion in the ball of the foot, but overall a good shoe.

At first I was very happy with the Asics Gel Cummulus 17 running shoes. They were a very comfortable walking shoe. But in less than 2 months, little holes starting forming in the mesh in the big toe area of both shoes. I only used them for walking, and not even every day, so I was shocked they were starting to wear out so fast. I have never had this problem with any other running shoe before. With the cost of these shoes, I was expecting better quality.

All my workout clothes are either pink blue green or yellow.love that this colorful shoe can be worn with everything. Comfortable and sturdy but ran a wee bit small.

I love shopping with Zappos! They are efficient, orders always come promptly, as well as excellent exchange program.

So far this is a really comfortable shoe. I haven't run in them yet. The only issue I can possibly see is that on my right foot sometimes it feels like one of the seams is pushing against the bridge of my foot. I will see after I take them out for a run!

My 4th pair in the Gel-Cumulus series. And I repeatedly order a half-size larger than usual. Good support and comfort - Just wish there were more color choices in narrow width.

These shoes are just what I was looking for. They have really nice arch support, the heel is amply cushioned and they are kinda wild with their yellow laces. My feet feel so good when I walk and my knees don't hurt anymore. The toe box is just a little wider than I would like but as a narrow- shoe seeker, I'm taking what I can get these days.

Returned one pair that fit just because of the color, and got the silver hot/turquoise. They didn't even look like the same size so they certainly didn't feel like it Much shorter and sending them back. Hoping to get perfect fit next time...3rd time's a charm?...Website color pics are not close though....guess good customer service, but not good pics for sneaker colors:)

These shoes are nice looking but they look real big and I ordered my normal size and it was to small. Since the shoes already look big I didn't want to order the next size up. They felt good on my feet though but I am sending back and going to order another pair of asics like my last pair.

Nice shoe for the price. I'm not a runner so I'm looking for a comfortable neutral shoe in a nice color. This shoe runs small so shall return it.

These are running smaller than the Gel Cumulus 17's that I bought 8 months ago. That appears to be a poor quality control issue with Asics. Very disappointed as I really like the last pair.

I was looking for a pair of all-black athletic shoes, and was hoping these would work, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. I usually wear a size 8 in other shoes, and 8.5 in athletic shoes, and the length felt right. Sometimes athletic shoes are too narrow across the toes for me, but these felt incredibly tight. I would have tried them in the wide instead, but the only color combo in my size in wide was seriously unattractive. That said, the shoes weren't all that cute anyway, but I would have overlooked it for a comfortable black shoe.

First time trying this sneaker. Normal size 9 but always size half a size up in sneaker and 9 1/2 perfect. This is better for my feet then the Brooks. I run everyday and the form and cushioning is good. Just got them. Hopefully, these will last longer then 3 months. The Brooks I found a little to wide in the toe box. Although I do not care for these bright colors.

I am a true Asics fan, but this pair of shoes did not have the overall cushioned feel in the ball and heel that I love when finding a pair of tennis shoes to use for everyday wear. The cushion in the heel was perfect, but I prefer more cushion in the ball of the foot area of the shoe. Other than that, this was a good shoe.

LOVE the color. This is the style I have worn for 2 years and for some reason they seem to run a bit small - narrow in the toe box - wider in the heal. I am keeping them - but will keep looking for a better fit. Hopefully they will remedy this issue with the next style of cumulus.

I've always loved Asics, but was a little disappointed that these seem a little smaller in the toe area than my other Asics in the same size. I have another pair Gel-Cumulus 17's too, so was a bit shocked. Maybe my feet grew after all these years of running. :)

Very comfy! Not as stylish as I would like, but style isn't my top priority for my job as a nurse that requires long hours on my feet. Traded in the first pair I got for a 1/2 size large. Pleased with my purchase!

Unfortunately, I had to return these. I normally wear a 6.5 Wide, but these were way too narrow and tight. Hate that I have to return to New Balance!

I normally wear a 10.5. The 10.5 was too short so I tried the 11. The arch support in this shoe (size 11) was placed too far to the rear of the foot. Just a bit too rearward; I have great arches and I was worried this would bother me during a run. Returning them and will try another cushioning style.

These shoes would have been great (I have learned to accept the fact that my 6.5 wide likely won't be to my color preference) but they felt not quite a 1/2 size too big. Just slightly. I would have tried a 6 if I thought they would fit and if I liked the bright teal & yellow.

I have been wearing the Cumulus series for years. Generally it has the cushioned feel I need. One thing to be aware of: the shoes run smaller and narrower than your usual size. I am comfortable in either a half or whole size up from my regular shoe size, and take a D width rather than my usual B (medium). Once you get used to these quirks the shoe is good for walking and running and lasts a long time.

I just started running this past year and my arches would kill me every time I went for a long run in my Nike Frees. I spent more than I would have liked on a new pair of tennis shoes for running, but I do not regret it at all. My Asics are the most comfortable pair of tennis shoes and completely worth the money.

These have a nice substantial bit of padding at the back of the heel - great to prevent slip-out during plank, mountain climbers, etc. They are great-fitting and I tried out a few training moves just to check them out, so far I love them. My only complaint is aesthetic. These and the Nimbus - both high-end - have totally cheap-looking plastic outside trim, compared to the cheaper Gel-Venture's rubbery Asics overlay. Why? Cutting corners to make a price point? If I am paying so much for these, the extra money to make them look less like discount shoes would be fine by me. As it is, I feel like the outside of the shoe looks a lot lamer than the cheaper Asics trainers.
