All pockets and straps are positioned in the right spot. I anticipate this pack will last more than twenty years like my last North Face pack did. I am still using that one as well.

I've had my North Face Recon backpack for going on 6 years now. It's the best backpack that I have had! I've used it for a variety of purposes anywhere from everyday use to and from school to hiking to traveling across the country. Very durable, comfortable fit, stylish, and spacious. I still get compliments about my pack even though I've had it for a long time. Worth every penny!

High marks but not perfect. The pack is very adjustable. It can hold a ton of stuff or very little and holds its shape. It is one of the few women's packs that has both a chest/hip strap and still looks good enough to use in the city. It is comfortable on my back. The internal pockets are good. The shoulder straps are more comfortable/not as rough on my skin as the Borealis. My only complaint, and it is a trade off, is that the ergonomic design (rounded bottom) holds the pack closer to your hips, but it also means the pack cannot sit flat on the floor, it is inclined to flop over unless you angle it just right. I use it to walk to/from work. It will hold my nice leather boots and all the other things that I would carry in a pocketbook and my lunch without a problem. I chose this North Face pack because I thought the one with the built in handle on its front side (the surge) was unsafe. I do not need to make it any easier for someone to grab me from behind as I walk home at night.

This was a gift for my granddaughter who is going to attend college next year. This backpack is very attractive and will meet all of her needs. Well padded to protect her computer and yet roomy enough to carry books and any other materials she will need for her classes.

This multi-functional backpack was a gift for my son who just started high school this year. He uses it for carrying his books and computer as well as for sports. It has multiple pockets for safely storing electronic devices and plenty of room for his lunch, water bottles, and athletic shoes for after school sports.

I was in need of a new backpack since I started graduate school in Washington DC. I wanted to find one that was worth the investment that could uphold to the typical inner city commute that is DC. I had only purchased one item ever from The North Face and loved it, so I looked to see what they had to offer in different backpacks. I love the item I ordered! It's exactly as pictured and completely comfortable. Because it is made to hold a laptop I love the sturdiness of the actual back of the bag. It is durable and will keep your technology protected while at the same time is still comfortable to be carried on your back. There is lot of room in the two main zipped compartments and I appreciate the adjustable straps along the outsides to keep things secure. It is definitely worth your money! And I love the different color choices!

As a student, this backpack fits all of my needs. The laptop sleeve is a great feature that now allows me to carry my laptop around in my backpack without a case. Best backpack I have owned.

I work in IT and I can sometimes have a lot to carry. This fits all of my regular day to day items and works well for travel. I liked it so much and have gotten so many compliments that I have purchased one for my brother who cycles to work daily.

I am a full time student and this backpack is great for walking long distances with several books, a laptop, and other items without my backpack feeling heavy.

Great quality, am able to use it both for personal and business. It's easy to take things when we travel. It's stylish and comfortable too!

I had the previous version and always felt like there were too many pockets. This new redesigned style is simple, with ample storage.

I recently purchased this Women's Recon Backpack and I absolutely LOVE it! The colors are awesome, the design is so stylish, it's plenty big enough to hold all of my textbooks and laptop for school (PLUS, water and snacks!), and best of all, it's super comfy. Definitely the best backpack I've ever owned!!

I love all the storage and the great pockets inside allow for easy organization.

I no longer live in the dorms and as an engineer major have to carry so many books. I'm practically at my university all day so I carry a lot from all my books, notes books, lunch containers, water bottles, gym clothe, and so much more. I definitely recommend this bag to anyone that needs to carry a lot and wants a comfortable backpack.

I use this product everyday as a college student. It has plenty of space for everything I need and is very comfortable.
