I use the product mostly for school. I usually carry two laptops and multiple books. The bag has a generous amount of pockets and rooms for everything I need to take with me. It also feels great on my back with a comfortable fit. I travel quiet a bit as well so the surge is just what I need when I go through security checks and not to mention looking stylish without sacrificing comfort.

I bought this for my son who is a college student. In his words, "the backpack is perfect!" He's very happy with it.

I needed a new backpack for school/travel that had a designated area for my laptop. This bag is great for traveling and very comfortable with a heavy load in a day to day basis. The price is a little on the high side if you just want something to carry your books in but the overall quality and durability of the bag make it well worth the money IMO.

This backpack is well designed and contains many useful features. The description of the product on the website was consistent with what I received. No surprises there. The backpack well built with high quality materials. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and plan to use it both for my commute and travel.

This was a gift for my college bound daughter. She loves it! She puts everything in it from her laptop to water bottle. It holds that and all her books. She claims weight distribution is fantastic! To top it off, the warranty is unbeatable. This is worth every dime!

I will use it for school

I use this product mostly for school. As a art student it's vital that I have a pack pack that can carry my laptop comfortably, as well as all my art supplies. Which it does the best out of any other backpack and brand I've tried.

Great for a gift for a first year college student

I use it for work and travel. Hold my laptop, tools, cords, Over the Ear headphones, and glasses. It has comfort lined pockets so nothing gets scratched and nothing rattles.

Use this backpack for school. Keeps my laptop protected.

I had the same North Face backpack for 7 years and it just finally wore out. This new backpack will definitely hold up for the same duration or beyond. I love the design, colors and organizational aspects of this backpack.

I use the product practically for everything you can imagine, biking, outdoors, traveling, school, books, etc. There things that are great about it is that it's so comfortable but also lightweight! The fact that it can be used for everything is just an amazing thing! If there are things that aren't so great i would also like to know because in my opinion there is not a thing that's wrong about this product!

Gift for our daughter who carries a lot of weight for school items, books, laptop, etc. Much easier on her back then other packs we have tried.

I purchased one of the older Surge backpacks from North Face early in my high school years and have still been using it six years later. It has been such a wonderful backpack, I couldn't imagine using anything other than The North Face. This new Surge backpack is so nice to wear, even with pounds of books inside! It doesn't strain my back, as my old one did, also it is very light and doesn't make my back sweat if I'm walking in the heat for a long time. I love this backpack!! I plan to order another one for myself, as well as a few others to give as gifts.

I bought this backpack for my son when he went off to college in 2007. It still looked and was totally awesome until it was stolen out of his car when he moved to Dallas for his first job. I just ordered him another since it's now perfect for work, laptops fit great!

Planning to use this for travel.

Bought this as a day to day back for travel and commuting on the train. Really nice design, stitching and organization of compartments. The material is very sturdy/ hard wearing. Love the multiple handles too. Much more practical than most backpacks out there.

I use Northface back pac, luggage for all my travel around the world. They are very stylish and elegant. They are very comfortable.
