I like to use a back pack for work. I usually carry a change of scrubs, toiletries, lunch and 2 drinks. I can hardly get that to fit in this bag. Just waiting for the zipper to finally break! Horrible design

I purchased this product and the strap broke after less than a year. I got the warranty replacement with relatively minor hassle. The replacement bag also ended up with a broken strap and zipper after 1 year. I did the warranty again, and the bag is currently working. I purchased another one in the midst of all that for my daughter and today (2 years into this bag) a strap has broken again. I dont have the energy to deal w warranties and downtime anymore. I will be looking for another brand.

This backpack is not the same volume as the surge I bought for my other daughter in the Spring of '24. This one barely fits the book and binder for ONE college class for the current recipient. I am very disappointed in North Face and its quality these days.
I have several basecamp duffels from 1991 to 2024!
I have several NorthFace backpacks from 1980 to 2024!
I bought a women's surge in 2019 that is going strong, even as I load it up everyday!
My son has a men's, but the straps pulled out of his - military supplied - he had to buy a second! very poor design on that.
I hope NorthFace can help me out with this surge.

I had recieved this backpack for school purposes, and i was so excited that i had a cool backpack. But when it came time for school some mishaps had occurred due to my bag. So one day i was walking throught the hallway and out of no where the top zipper of my bag comes undone and my whole bag goes collapsing onto the floor for all to see, and i have never been so embarresed. And all people did was laugh and makes jokes, so i suggest that you think before buying the backpack of embarrassment!!!

I'm 5'10 and average size. The pack hits me at a strange part on my back. I also think the shoulder straps are intended for petite women and not for taller girls. Thinking of getting the guys version or another brand instead.

I honestly hate this product so much. I bought it for school, and it is huge, bulky, and ugly. It has way more space than it needs. It's so awful that I decided to find a different one, but all of the styles are so ugly and awful right now. I'm very disappointed in the North face brand. Now, I am going to go to Patagonia, because this company is awful.

This was a huge let down. It is very poor quality, and has strins hanging off of it. for such a high price this was very disappointing. If somebody gave me this backpack I would think it cost $60 at most.

This backpack is amazing, and as a petite woman, I have been looking for a backpack that is designed for smaller frames. However, this is the 21st century, can we please move beyond "girl" colors and get some dark blues, greens, and browns??? For this reason alone, I will likely be sending this back.

I loved the older version of this....adding the huge handle on the back of the backpack is a huge safety risk to women, especially those in a metropolitian area. Someone can just grab you and pull you back!!! Also, movin the extra pocket for electronics from the back pocket (where the laptop is) to the front was a bad idea. Whenever the bag gets full, you can't actually fit anything into the front pockets. Plus, the bag seems a little top heavy and falls over instead of standing on its own.
