Got this new backpack for my senior year of college & work in the future. I've had my last one since middle school! North Face is the best!

Picked this up for back to school, solid feel and comfortable fit. Right mix of pocket types to get me set.

I bought this for my daughter for when she attends college in fall and she loves it! It's just the right size and will hold all her necessary items for school. The material is very sturdy and the will hold up during the rainy season. We are very happy with this purchase.

I bought this since I'm a doctoral graduate student who travels in cities often. I thought I could use it for both school and travel. It's deceiving because it looks like it can hold so much, but it really doesn't. It's a long and narrow, so you have to stack everything up inside the backpack. I prefer backpacks that are wide where I can easily see everything. I'm 5'3" and it was too long for me, it kept uncomfortably hitting me in my tailbone. If you like long and narrow backpacks, this is perfect! If you prefer shorter and wider backpacks, keep searching. I gave it to my niece who is in college (and much taller than me) and she was thrilled because it was free. She's been using it and likes it

I use this pack for school. It's very comfortable and I love the strap design for boobs. It feels very durable and I do not think I will need a new backpack for a long time. One downside though, I wish the main compartment was a bit wider. It's lacking in space, especially considering the cost. Otherwise, I love the look and all of the different pockets for organizing small items.

I am very unhappy with this bag and am going to try to return it. I have one major complaint and several minor complaints. The biggest problem is that the bag won't stand up on its own! The stiff laptop section makes feels like a surfboard shape, and trying to rest the bag on its bottom (one tip of the surfboard) doesn't work. Even if I try to prop the bag up against something like a door, it still slides down onto its front or back. Not good if you're trying to load/unload it, or if you have a full coffee holder in one of the pockets. That stiff laptop section just makes the whole thing unwieldy. The other pockets feel cramped because of it. I'm trying to carry a 15" laptop and a lot of bulky laptop components (hub, mouse, power cord, etc.). I feel like it should be able to hold everything, but it just doesn't!

This backpack is GREAT! It is really spacious and very comfortable for my daughter. Will be great for school !

I love Surge Northface backpacks. I have purchased multiple over the past several years for my kids in college. The backpacks take a beating and are very durable. The only thing that I don't like about this recent purchase are the pulls on the top zippers.

Love the design and all the compartments. Especially love the pocket for my laptop. Great for travel.

It is not the best Surge Backpack that I've ordered from The North Face but decent. Good quality as always. It might just be because I am so used to the previous design of where organized pockets are and the contrast of darker colors.

It's awesome! My daughter is stoked to use this for the last two years of college.

I really like the backpack. It's easy to organize things in it and it is comfortable to wear, and it seems very durable. The one drawback, for me personally, is that the main compartment is a bit narrow for my taste -- I like to pack and book and overnight clothes when I travel sometimes, and it is a little tight for that to be done easily. But I recommend this backpack.

Great pack. I bought it for my wife. She loves it and is now using it all the time on day hikes.

Lots of extra pockets for extra charges, school supplies, nice protective space for laptop and cords. Durable, yet lightweight!

Great backpack with great space!

It's the most lightweight and durable bag that I have ever owned. I tested the water resistance for four consecutive days under nonstop rain, and the inside was drier than ever.

Great spacious backpack with plenty of room for traveling and school essentials. Many pockets that keep things organized.

Love this ba knack. However it seems smaller than the one I replaced.

This is a nice bag, great quality, just not the right bag for me. The back of the pack is padded/rigid and the laptop compartment is heavily padded leading to a heavy/sturdy bag but without much room left for other stuff.
