High arch support. Cute but looks like a bowling shoe

I was hoping to wear these shoes for college visits this weekend, but the leather is stiff and it would take a long time to break them off. Also, it somewhat too shiny and makes them look like old stile shoes. Going back.

The sole of the shoe is completely flat. There is no heel. It felt like I was walking with a knot under the arch of my foot. I have high arches so this may have been the issue. I bought these as walking shoes and had to send them back.

After reading all the reviews, I was somewhat surprised that I found the toe box to be very small. I will be returning them.

I wanted to love this shoe. I bought the Ecco Chase Tie about a year ago, and they were so incredibly comfortable, I wanted to get another pair. Alas, they no longer offer that style, so I decided to try the Chase Tie II. The style was just what I was looking for, and the arch support was almost as good as my custom orthotics. (I have very high arches.) Unfortunately, though, they rubbed my toes and were painful. The inner lining of the Chase Tie II is not as soft as the Chase Tie and was uncomfortable all around. I hope Ecco brings back the Chase Tie or something equivalent in look AND comfort. My search continues.

these shoes are extremely comfortable, but the problem I had with them is that they scratch easily and it's impossible to paint them. I'd wear them for work about 3 times a week (I'm a teacher) and the leather would get tiny scratches just from crossing my ankles. After a year, the blue had become a light ugly gray. I had bought their shoe care products from an ecco store, but it didn't protect the shoes for long. I eventually looked for shoe paint that would match the original color and the paint itself wouldn't really stick to the leather, it'd crack and peel really fat. It was very disappointing because these are my favorite shoes, but I can't quite afford replacing them every year because I can't paint them.

These shoes lacked the arch support I need. I suffer with plantar fasciitis and need a good arch support. The footbed was comfortable, but need a better arch support.

I loved the style and color of this shoe and really wanted to keep it but there was a ridge just at the front of the ball of the foot that was very uncomfortable for me. I had to return them.

I haven't decided yet if I'm keeping them or not. They get wonderful reviews and they are very nicely made. But I don't understand the sizing. Normally I'm a 6.5 in most shoes. I ordered a 37 which claims to be a 6-6.5 in US sizes. They were at least a size too big, if not more. I then sent them back and got a 36 which says is a US 5-5.5. They are still too big by about a half a size. They don't come any smaller. I might try them with thicker socks to see if that stops the bending across the toe, but I think that's a sign that they are too big. Plus the heel is a bit high and might aggravate my planter fasciitis. I'm used to wearing minimalist shoes to help that. So overall I am undecided on these.

I am returning these. The sizing was perfect, but that ridge of padding in the forefoot felt weird, and in caramel they look like clown shoes on me. I wish they would have had a much thicker sole. Then maybe they would not look so long and flat and clownish, and they would be more comfortable. This is a glorified and pricey leather Converse. Not for me.

These are well made, well-fitting shoes, but somehow I could not get over the impression that they looked like bowling shoes on my feet. Sorry, Ecco. I am sending them back for more of a hipster style.

First, I have to say these shoes look like a cross between clown shoes and bowling shoes. It doesn't help that I wear I size 9. My feet run narrow at the heel. These shoes fit me very well, my heal does not slip when I walk. The leather on the outside is not as soft as I would like it to be. I'm hoping it will soften up as I break them in. They have pretty good arch support. Despite the clown/bowling look, I am keeping them because I have such a hard time finding shoes that I can wear given my narrow heel.

A good fitting shoe but the leather and toe box are just too stiff for me. if this wouldn't bother you, the shoes fit well and should be very comfortable.

I like the look of this sneaker a lot, especially the color which is a darkish gray taupe. The shoe runs large so I would need to size down, but I'm mainly concerned about the very firm arch support that I think would bother me when I take my dogs on their long walks in my hilly neighborhood.

was hoping for a comfortable and stylish shoe. It has style, but sadly one of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. Keep hoping they'll break in, but so far the only thing getting broken in is the back of my ankle! cannot recommend. Wish I could send back, but I've worn them and am now out $100 plus dollars

Disappointed. The sizing is larger than what I normally order. I did not feel there was much support aound the foot although the arch support was reasonable.

I can't recommend these shoes even though they're adorably cute and they feel great walking in them... for the first 20 minutes. After that the ridge inside the back of the shoe starts rubbing rubbing rubbing at the back of your ankle. I bought these shoes over a year ago and after wearing them once I threw them in the back of the closet they chewed up and blistered my Achilles' tendon area so badly. But since they cost $200 I wasn't about to throw them away. So for the past 3 weeks this summer I've walked in them for 20 minutes once a week hoping I'll break them in. It's week three now and I still haven't broken them in. But maybe in another few weeks I'll have developed calluses hard enough to withstand the ridge rubbing and I won't have thrown $200 away on a pair of shoes created by sadists. I don't know how the rest of you who gave these shoes top rating can stand it

I thought I would try these because of the reviews stating "roomy" and "accommodates my bunion". I found neither to be very accurate, although the length was consistent for what I usually wear (I usually wear an 8 US or 39.5 Euro). If you're truly looking for a roomy (bordering on wide), accommodating, toe-wiggling shoe, this isn't it. It is a nice-looking shoe, however.

I had to return these. I always wear Ecco Biom golf shoes but these did not work for me in this style. The arch hit in wrong place and also runs at least half a size bigger.

I would love to love these! They are cute and they have less of a silhouette than bulkier athletic shoes. Sadly, they did not fit as I would like, being loose in the heel and tight in the toe box, rubbing my big toe after only being on for 10 minutes. So sorry to have to send these back.

I did not try this shoe on as it appeared to have been worn and then returned. The soles were dirty. I've been shopping with Zappos for a long time (years) and I have never received a pair of shoes that I thought had been worn. I've always recommended Zappos to many friends, especially because of their customer service. First time ever that I've been let down. My ratings have nothing to do with the shoe as I didn't try them on.

This was exactly what I was looking for & loved the look. They were very comfortable until you stood and walked in them!! It was like they jammed pieces of concrete under the sole!! So hard & uncomfortable that I'm not sure what Ecco was thinking! Going back!!

I realize I stand alone in this fairly dismal review, so feel free to dismiss me as an outlier! And I will say that it's probably not the worst shoe I have ever purchased...it just FEELS like the worst shoe given my exceedingly high expectations. I find it to be exquisitely uncomfortable, and though I have been wearing them around the house for several days now, they are - unfortunately - not going to make it to the music festival for which I purchased them. I just can't break 'em in. I concede I am a tough customer when it comes to shoes: I have very flat feet, a bunion on one foot and "hammer toes", where the toes sort of scrunch up. I normally wear an 8 or 8.5 dress shoe, and a 9.5 in a running shoe. The size 39 was way too tight across the toe box so had to size up to 40. The 40 is too big but, oddly, still rubs the tops of my defective toes! There's no vertical "space" in the toe box, if that makes sense. And finally, while there is a ton of arch support, I would suggest that if you have exceedingly flat feet like mine, you should steer clear of these. Or at least plan on a week or so for your feet to adjust to the crazy high arch. I would send these back in a heartbeat but I feel so guilty about the number of times I have had to make exchanges and/or returns with Zappos I'm just going to eat these and hope that I can use them for events of an hour or two in duration. But as usual, I did have the most superb service from the Zappos team on this transaction - they are the best at what they do!
