I did a lot of research looking for a winter coat (reviews, videos, multiple website searches, etc) and I have been happy with this purchase so far. I think the coat looks better in person, a little less casual. Reasons I chose this coat: (1) The more "stylish" designer coats are the same price but the North Face coat comes with DWR coating to protect the down - no brainer. (2) The coat fits pretty well without looking like I'm wearing a shapeless sack. I am a small person (size 0/XS) but I have broad shoulders, which means if the shoulders fit, the remainder of the coat could conceal 2 more of me. I ordered the XS and SM in this coat and kept the SM. The XS fit and looked great but my arm movement was a bit restricted. The SM gives me plenty of movement (can even wear a fleece sweater under it) and it still fits nicely and looks good; definitely looks the best out of the many coats I tried on. I am 5'4 and the coat hits just above the knee.

It took me awhile to spend this much money on a coat. I purchased it last February and wore it on the coldest days and was comfortable. It is not too bulky and the perfect weight. I am 5'6", 135 pounds and got the medium to insure that I could wear sweaters. It is perfect!

I originally ordered this jacket in the Metallic Silver, but when I received it, the color was too dull for me. I returned it for Black and I love it! It's so comfortable and I wanted a long jacket. This jacket is the perfect length- not too long, not too short. It hits me a couple inches above the knee and I am 5'7". This is definitely worth the investment!

I purchased this parka in preparation for moving to Sweden in December 2015 and with temperatures hovering between the high teens and the upper 30's Fahrenheit, I can confidently say that this jacket delivers the warmth! My only problem - and this is a HUGE problem - is that the hood doesn't quite reach the top of my forehead!! It is about four inches too short which makes it completely useless! I'm not tall either -- I'm 5'6". It appears that The North Face does not sell snap-on hoods separately and I'm not even sure if I can return this jacket to Zappos since I ordered it back in August, but just thought you all should know that this hood may not cover your head unless you have a super tiny head. Aside from that, this is the warmest parka I've ever had!

These run small! I wear a size 16 pant and top (I am 5'10") and the sleeves as well as the body were too small/short in a XXL! I have never worn that!

My daughter has the XS from a few years ago and loves it. Since sometimes I wear XS, I tried hers and it was a little tight in hips and legs. I bought both the S and M to compare, because it looks like it is cut straight without any flare. The S was good except initially felt too snug in hips. Almost like the XS. The M however was too long in sleeves (you can't really hem) and was a just a little bit loose throughout the top. ( I am very small in top) Hips were fine though. Not to tight and not too loose. I ended up with the S. I'm glad I did. Most of the clothes I would wear is not that bulky in Texas. The coat is super warm with just heavy tights and top. Jeans are bulkier and still can work with small. Overall, great coat! Would definitely buy again! Love it...it is cut straight so if you have curves consider trying a size up.

It's difficult to find uniform quilting on the newer North Face down parkas. This one fits the bill and without excessive tapering at the waist which for some reason looks strange on me. At 5'3" this coat still sits above the knees and is super warm and comfortable. I bought this in black and couldn't be happier.

The coat appears to be mid-thigh length, but when it arrived, it hit me just above the knees, which I love. It isn't too bulky and for a full-length, light in weight. Great purchase for the cold, breezy NC mountain walks.

the sizing has changed and this does not fit like the old north face i bought a few years ago. love north face, just not this item

I've been looking for a light weight warm jacket and I'm glad I bought this one. It's super comfy and great for everyday wear. It arrived quickly and neatly packaged. I will definitely be making future purchases with zappos.

Absolutely love this parka. I've been in the market for one for quite some time but wasn't willing to part with the money. However, when this went on sale I had to get it. I purchased the urban grey and I've received a lot of compliments on the color. This is a very warm coat but isn't too bulky. If I was going to be out for an extended time, then I would probably put some heavier layers underneath but I think this a great everyday parka!

Great jacket, lightweight yet warm.

Absolutely love this coat! As an elementary teacher, I have recess duty in very cold temperatures. The length of this coat will keeps my whole body warm. (I'm 5'10" and this coat hits about 2 inches above my knees.)

I love this coat! It's warm, not too bulky and the hood comes in handy. I'm 5'2" and the small fits me just right. Would highly recommend.

This coat is warm and very high quality. Length is great, I'm 5'4" and it goes to right above my knees. I will say it runs small. I normally wear an XL and got an XXL which was borderline tight.

I've been looking for a jacket like this for years. It is lightweight, shapely, warm, and very well made! The pockets are in the perfect location and it has comfortable fabric around the collar and covering the top of the zipper.

I love this coat. I bought one 5 years ago, which is still in good condition and I wear while working outside. I just bought another one, because I wanted one to wear for going out, etc. They are very versatile, can be dressed up or casual. The best thing about this coat is it is fairly lightweight but keeps you WARM! It is true to size, I'm 5'9 size 12 and a large fits me perfectly. Definitely worth the investment!

I usually wear a small or medium and the small fit great. I wouldn't have wanted it any larger. The hood is a little small. Very warm and lightweight.

Great coat! With the sale it made the deal even better! I usually wear an XS, but after reading reviews I ordered the Small. I'm so glad I did. I have plenty of room to move around with a sweatshirt or sweater (if I ordered the XS I my movement would be restricted). Also the arms would have been short on the XS. It hasn't been that cold where I live, so I have only worn it a couple of times, but I can't wait to wear it!

This was my favorite of the 4 different North Face jackets I ordered. The small fits well (I am 5'5", 125#). Overall it is nice and doesn't look bulky like a lot of the other down parkas out there.

I have been wanting this parka since trying it on in a local store last year. When I saw it discounted on Zappos I knew I had to have it. The parka is really cute and super light. I live in Michigan and while I don't like cold weather, I am really looking forward to wearing my new parka outside. I am 5'4" and weigh 106 pounds. I ordered the small and it fits perfectly with room for a sweater underneath. As a side note, the parka arrived slightly wrinkled so I lightly sprayed the parka with water and put the parka in the dryer with a damp washcloth on LOW for several minutes which released the wrinkles.

I bought this for harsh winter in midwest. Yes, It is lengthy, but I like it because it would really protect my thigh from freezing wind. I purchased this coat for walking my pups and for a winter European cruise. I found it to be very comfortable and warm, but decided that the Miss Metro parka was warmer. I am not a huge layering fan so I need the extra warmth. I have given this one to my daughter to wear at college in the snowy midwest. She likes to layer so it will be perfect. I ordered a medium (5'8"/138#) and the fit was good. My daughter (5'8"/130#) and the fit is perfect for layering.
