The leather pinched a bit at the arch. I think the suede Birks are more comfortable.

Ordered my usual size 9 and my feet JUST fit inside the footbed. The strap jug into my big toe so sadly, I must return.

I did plenty of research in regards of what sandals to buy due to my plantar fasciitis and ended up buying this navy soft bed Birkenstork which I loved. BUT, they are way too wide and I believe somehow they hurt my foot because of this reason. I'm planning in going to the store and try on a narrow pair and see what happens. The soft bed is definitely less hard and much better. I also tried Vionic sandals at DSW and, those are very comfortable if you suffer from PF. I'm waiting for my Vionic sandals to get here and see what happens. Both brands are recommended by podiatrists, though. Good luck and I hope this info helps you decide.

Vionic and Born Shoes are my favorite. Crocs to use at home are good too, not for a long time.

Too big, even though 39 says 8-8.5 it seems it’s more like 8.5-9

I hadn’t worn Birkenstocks in years so I can’t tell if the soft footbed made a difference or felt any different than the original. I wear an 8.5 women’s and ordered a 39(9) narrow since they were men’s or unisex. The fit was perfect. I can only adjust the front buckle one notch but that is because my feet are a little wide in that area. I will say that I should not had tried to wear these brand new at Disney World. That was the day that my feet hurt the most and received a bottom of toe blister and side of foot blister. I believe this was my fault as everyone tells you not to wear new shoes at Disney. Overall happy with my purchase and still well made.

I do love these but be prepared for them not lasting more than a year or so. I’m on my third pair now and the cork is totally falling apart. I’ve even tried using the cork conditioner but who has time for that. So I would say if you’re OK purchasing a pair on an annual basis then buy them because I do love them however this time I’m going back to the originals. Don’t get them wet.

I've worn Birkenstocks for 20 years. This was my first time wearing a soft footbed. I do not like the support. I thought the support would be the same, just not as long of a break in period. The test was wearing them to a concert. I've worn birks to concerts for 20 years, my feet can handle it. These provided less support, so my feet actually hurt while wearing them. I had to take them off and go barefoot. I'll keep them as knock around backups, but I will not get soft foodbed again.

The color is totally off. Not sure if it’s the actual Silver or if Zappos sent the wrong color. The picture is of my silver knock offs next to the “silver” Birks. They’re not silver, but I’m keeping them, I guess.

This was marked to fit women size 9-9.5 (40). Size 40 is usually a size 10, and this was too long and too wide. Also, no matter what slot I used on both straps, the material dug into my upper foot despite being loose or just fitting. I did not like the material.

I wanted to love these but they didn’t fit right. The straps were too wide for my feet. I usually wear a 6.5 wide and these were too big.

I wanted to like these. I have a narrow foot with a high arch and my middle toes are a bit longer than my big toe. The way the shoe bed is formed, my toes did not fit in the shoe correctly... and the high arch bone on the top of my foot hit the strap in a very uncomfortable way. I tried a size up and it still did not work for me. Thank you Zappos for being an amazing company. I keep trying to find shoes that will help my severe plantar fasciitis pain. I end up sending shoes back and exchanging and Zappos is really fantastic. I appreciate them.

I wanted to love these shoes and really tried to find a comfortable pair of Birkenstock’s. Sadly they are very uncomfortable for me. I tried wearing them around the house for awhile, but I didn’t think they would ever be the wear all day comfortable shoes I need. Love the look but not the feel.

I think the soft footbed Birkenstocks have a significantly different fit and feel from the traditional footbed. The soft version has less arch support and it feels like the heel cup is not as low. I really didn't like the soft footbed and wouldn't recommend it to those used to the comfort and support of the originals.

I bought these in April of 2023 because of the Birkenstock revival hype and as someone with high arches, these never broke in. I brought them to Mexico earlier this year and after one day of walking around, they were basically unwearable (I had to buy some emergency sandals, it was that bad). Everyone keeps saying they break in but if the break-in period takes two years, that's two years too long for me. I would be extremely weary if you are buying these to travel in - make sure they break in properly first (and hopefully you will have better luck than I).

I wore these for about 12 to 18 months. The leather cracked on the front straps on both shoes / sandals. It made me wonder what it was made of. It struck me as being quite brittle compared with older pairs I have. And the cork started to disintegrate at the back of the heel so much so they began to look ugly, and I stopped wearing them because they looked so ugly. It seems to me that the quality has gone downhill. I have a couple of pairs of Birkenstocks that are about 10 years old and they have the suede upper the same style as this blue one. And neither the suede has disintegrated nor the sole of the shoe disintegrated. They are exceedingly comfortable and much more so than anything I bought in recent years. I'm not sure what has happened with the Birkenstock line of products but the ones I have bought in recent years do not wear as well, soften to the same degree as my old ones and not do they become (and remain as comfortable) with time as the original ones I own. So I'm now wondering if I can get my old ones refurbished as I have no faith in the newer products.

The decription did not explicity say that the upper is NOT leather. It is synthetic. It does not feel the same as leather. It felt odd.

Sorry to be a dissenter on these, but this particular pair of Birks really are uncomfortable and offer little arch support, as opposed to the standard, harder foot bed. If you want a slipper-like shoe to wear around the house and don't intend to walk on pavement, then they may work for you. This was my first time trying the "soft" foot bed and will be my last - no support here, people! On a positive note, the color is very fun and blingy.

Very disappointed in Zappos. I ordered from them knowing they are a trusted company. I received my package after a weeks long wait for it to come in an amazon box. I ordered narrow I got regular, I ordered a 36 and that’s what the box said but it was a size 37 inside. At least the return process was easy.

I can't rate this shoe as it was delivered already worn and used. This poor rating is for Zappos.

These completely fell apart after one year. Not the Birkenstocks of my youth that lasted forever!
The sole of both shoes fell off!

I have ordered From Zappos for over four years now. I have never been so disgusted. These shoes that I ordered showed up in a non-marked box and have been visibly worn with very dark toe and feet marks!!! I am not sure if I will order from Zappos again. Not sure if I can trust this company.

I've worn birkenstocks for over forty years and they have steadily gone downhill in quality. I always buy the soft footbed and this purchase was no exception. I've tried to wear them on and off for a month and no luck. They are rock hard and the underside of the straps are rough, causing blisters. The exposed buckles on the underside of the straps hurt as well. I have a pair of soft footbed Floridas that are not like this. They almost feel flocked on the underside of the straps. I hesitate to order a pair of those. I'm looking desperately for a pair of supportive sandals. It's very hard because my feet are so used to birkenstocks. I'm really disappointed. I can't return because they've been worn.

I bought these shoes a year ago and they are unraveling and almost unwearable. It’s really disappointing because I know people who have had the same birks for ten years. The quality of the shoe must have diminished greatly, because I barely wear these, so they shouldn’t be tattered and torn with the bottoms peeling off. Needless to say, I’ll never buy another pair.

I loved the look of these blue Birkenstocks and was happy to get back to my favorite brand. However, something in the way the inner arch is built up made them very painful to wear and cause blisters to start on inside of my arch. I don't know why this is, and I was sorry to return them. Maybe it was the soft footbed, is it built up hard at the arch? Anyway, they are beautiful shoes and I was sad to see them go. I should try the hard bed, maybe that would not be true. But I finally found a pair of sandals (kind Zappos did several returns!) that are Naot and also blue. Thanks to Zappos I am a happy customer, as always.
