Good material, bad measurements. I have a job which requires pretty durable clothing, while looking somewhat professional. I had bought a pair of alpha original khakis by dockers, (who is owned by Levi’s,) and those fit great. Since this is basically the same company, I thought these would fit the same. Unfortunately, these fit more like straight leg or boot cut jeans, there is no tapering anywhere. There is way too much material on the legs for the inseam, and the waist also seemed a little large. I needed them for work, so I will not return them, but there are definitely better fitting jeans for athletic body types.

Fit was very loose in the waist compared to a relaxed fit Levi's 35 waist. Legs were about 5 inches too long. Ordered 2 paid. Both the same, so assume not mislabeled.

The description of this item is incorrect. It is 98% cotton and 2% elastane and is not stretchy at all. Far too tight in the thighs and uncomfortable for me to move around

If you go in knowing you’ll need to order a size small you’ll be better off. As with all Levi’s jeans I never know what to expect when I order any wash. You think you’re getting a soft dark and it shows up deep indigo. They’re nice jeans, don’t get me wrong, but I’d rather buy in a store where I can try them on immediately and not have to wait days in between.

I'll start with the positives: I love the wash and distressed look (mostly) of these jeans (toto). I previously purchased some athletic fit True Nation jeans and twills pants, as well as some athletic fit Levi's. They've all been great. I have larger thighs and a larger waist, but my legs are relatively smaller. Jeans of other fits are almost always too baggy and bunched. Due to the tapered legs, athletic fit has generally been great. Now onto the negatives: For some reason, this particular pair is giving me trouble. I first ordered these one size smaller, but they were tight in the crotch. After exchanging them for a size larger, that problem remains. On top of that, the legs have felt larger and too baggy/bunchy both times. Next, while this isn't a deal breaker, there is no fabric underneath the distressed holes which can be a little bit awkward, especially the higher up the tears go. The True Nation distressed jeans smartly had fabric sewn beneath most of the holes, and longer pockets for the distressing near the top. As with any online purchases, the fit is usually a roll of the dice. Therefore, none of the tags have been removed and these may be returning these. A bummer, as I really like the look of the jeans. They just don't fit well on my body. If I do keep them, they'll likely undergo some DIY tailoring.

Why can’t I seem to find a pair of these jeans that fit? Another try. Another return.

I purchased these for my husband who has always had the most difficult time finding jeans that fit his very athletic thighs and butt. I ended up returning them because he did not think they fit comfortable in the legs and he did not like the elasticity of the waist. I normally buy him 36 x 34, but in these I probably would have been better off buying 35 x 34 but then the thighs definitely would not have fit. Sadly sent them back. But found him Lucky Brand 429 Classic Straight Jean which he loves and a pair of Mavi Jeans 'Matt' Relaxed Fit Jeans (Deep Stanford Comfort) which both were perfect.

I was looking for some new jeans that were built for more muscular butts and thighs. I grew out of my old Eddie Bauer relaxed fit jeans and they stopped making their loose fit ones. I bought the 32 x 32. I am 5'10" with a 32 waist, 40 hips and 24 thighs. Far from being huge with those dimensions, the pants were tight in the butt and thighs. They fit perfectly at the waist though. I had to return them because they were not comfortable. Overall I did like the style.

I was excited about the "Athletic" fit as none of the Levis slim fits worked with my body type. These pants are better but are still too snug on my thighs with generous room in the 31" waist. The Jet color is very nice although they are borderline dress pants as they are indeed jet black with no texturing or color variation. Would have loved them if they fit better!

Levi's quality has declined greatly over the past few years. On the other hand, you can also get them for cheaper than ever. My biggest problem with these is that they only have five belt loops, as opposed to seven on the Levi's I've always bought before. This means that my belt doesn't hold my pants up as well and the spacing is weird, causing the front two loops to be way too close together

These are not slim. They fit in waist and inseam but absolutely bag out thru hips, thighs and knees. Very poorly designed..

These seem to be getting cheaply made. I am finding Walmart brands to hold up better. Last 3 pairs have ripped in the crotch. Won't be buying again.

The fit for Levi's 541's has become impossible to predict. There are seemingly dozens of material combinations (percentages of cotton/elastane and maybe others) reflecting different amounts of stretch. The descriptions of the percentages are often inaccurate (not only at Zappos), making it impossible to predict what to order. This is a Levi's problem mostly, but it follows to the various sellers' websites. The fit for the same nominal size 541 varies WILDLY.

These jeans , Timberwolf/Cruz Twill, are the same size, fit and style as other I have purchased (541). However, these are tight and when washed, they wrinkle so bad they have to be either re-washed and air dried, or ironed. They which would be better sold as casual slacks and not placed in the same department as "Denim". Disappointed.

I was surprised how baggy they were. 541s have been my go-to for a more modern fit, and I’m disappointed in the new looser cut.

I bought these jeans to replace an identical pair that I've owned for years. Upon receipt, I discovered that these jeans are now made with a SUPER-stretchy, elastic type of fabric, and they were WAY too big for me. I exchanged them for the next size down, and they were STILL too large in the waist due to the excessive give in the fabric. Zappo's awesome customer service came through for me again on the second pair, but I will not order this 541 style again. Thumbs up for Zappo's service, but thumbs down for this elastic 541 jean.

ordered Jet and White ... same sizes, just diff. colors ... fit in the Jet was way off. Thigh was 1/2 inch + smaller --- smaller cut in waist. Regardless you have to try on different colors .. size are different even from my older 541's ...

Buying Levi's Online these days is like playing Russian Roulette. You might know your exact waist size and fit but you don't know if the pair of jeans you order will fit exactly like the size and length you want to order. I remember a time when I can buy 10 pairs of 514 Jeans and they all fit the same, the only reason I would have to return a pair of Jeans was the color not looking the same as it was online. Otherwise the color is great, too bad it doesn't fit as the size I ordered.

Very uncomfortable in the crotch area and waist area. The rips on the top should've had some fabric cause I can see it ripping worse and not looking atttesctive. P

I loved these jeans, but they shrunk at least 2 sizes in the wash. None of my other levis have shrunk this much. I tumble dried on low, and now they're skinny jeans. Definitely air dry jeans.
