The Dansko Helen is comfortable. Has room in the toes and good support BUT..... the unusual Lace-up elastic cord sticks up and looks totally out of place. Too bad, they did not find away to hide the lace once it is tighten. I read other reviews regarding the odd looking way the lace stays up, but I thought I like the look of the sneaker so much that I would try it for myself. Very disappointed, other reviewers were right. Sending this sneakers back!

Love these shoes but I had to get two sizes and two colors to get one pair that fit just right. The taupe was the the right size but the arch just didn't hit the right spot. As many of the folks who review on this site I have foot problems so its a shoe safari to get just the perfect fit. I'm happy with the black/white at a size 40 even tho the taupe of the same size didn't work.

Comfortable and cute. I purchased these Dansko sneakers for winter. Comfortable right out of the box. Can't wait to wear them!

Trying these shoes on at home, I thought they felt a bit stiff and uncomfortable. However, I decided to hang onto them and give them a chance on my regular city walk. They were very comfortable and gave me plenty of cushioning with no achy feet at the end of the day. They do feel a bit narrow, but it’s not uncomfortable. The arch support is not as significant as other Dansko shoes I own. Overall, a good buy for a quick to pull on city shoe.

Cute and comfortable. I stand 6 to 7 hours a day. There's not as much support as I would have expected. Since I'm a small size 37 there was room for a little extra arch support insole.

very narrow so didn't really get to try them on but I did like the look

I normally wear a size 11 in sneakers and the size 41 feels too tight, so based on other positive reviews, I am reordering in a size 42. I am looking for comfortable walking shoes for a trip I am taking and these shoes have the cutest styling out of all the shoes I have ordered so I have high hopes for the 42s! This shoe has less arch support that the Dansko clogs. It is easy to get on and off, which I like. The big issue I have is that the tab on the back of the shoe rubs on the tendon on the back of my foot all day and I end up with a very painful red mark and/or blister. I wear them with super thick athletic socks that have the extra padding near the top back of the shoe, but that doesn't seem to help much. I'm hoping that as I slowly break them in, this issue will go away.

Great room in the toe box! I wanted to love these such a great style,great arch support. But overall not comfortable.

Comfortable from the start. Very shallow tread on the bottom, and shoe doesn't flex much. More suitable for casual wear than athletic activities.

I really like this shoe. I haven't worn sneakers for years, mainly because they feel too heavy and look clunky. But these are light in weight but still supportive, and they look slim. The laces took a bit of getting used to but are fine now. The dark color combination is stylish and they have the comfort level I've come to expect from Dansko. I have worn the professional clogs for over ten years because of the comfort and support. I also wear their short leather boots in winter. These are a great addition to my Dansko wardrobe.

I absolutely love these shoes, but unfortunately I need to return them. When I received them the suede on the front was approximately 30% worn-off! I may try getting another pair but am worried that the suede may come off easily with a little wear.

I bought these for an every day walking shoe. I don't like real athletic shoes. I can wear these without socks which was a real plus for me. There is not a ton of extra room, so I have only tried a lightweight sock with these shoes. They were comfy from the moment I put them on. I wear a 39 in other Dansko, and the 39 in these felt just right.

I decided the keep these, although the fit is not perfect for me. I needed an everyday, easy to slip-on black sneaker with some style. I wear a 9 and am between M and W width because I have a high arch and mild bunions. I bought the W, which is a little too wide but okay - if I bought them again I would also try the M. I look for shoes that have enough room in the toe box, which these have. The shoes are good looking, comfortable, well made, and don't slip on my heel. I would not wear them for a day of walking unless I replaced the insole - not enough support.

I normally wear a 12 narrow. Read the other reviews, bought two sizes, the 12.5-13 was a perfect fit. Sending back the 11.5-12. I have a very flat foot and wear 3/4 length orthotics, that fit in the shoes nicely. Can only wear a very thin sock. There is not much wiggle room and my toes sweat like crazy. However, I have zero foot pain, wore these over 15 hrs the first day and I'm still wearing them. No break-in discomfort at all. I love them but I hate them. I love the secure, supportive fit of the shoe but the soles of this shoe are a very hard material, making them quite loud on all wood, pergo, tile, cement and or any floor that is not carpeted. So if you're in a library, nursing home, hospital, or trying to sneak to the fridge in the middle of the night...everyone will know you're coming.

These shoes are so cute. They are classier than most sneakers and they felt comfortable the first time that I put them on. I am not sure if I like the elastic laces as well as the regular type.

Excellent arch support, and very supportive footbed. I didn't like the elastic laces, as they stuck up in the air when pulled tight. These could be replaced with a standard lace, I suppose. Unfortunately, the toe area was a bit too snug around my bunions to be comfortable. For someone without this problem, I'd highly recommend these. I usually wear a size 8, and the 39 worked for me, although it is a bit loose in the heel.

I am a full Euro size smaller in this shoe. It runs wide. It is very comfortable and sleek looking yet I've got a feeling it can go the distance for walking/travel.

I have 2 pairs of these! They look nicer than the average athletic shoe and no clunky Dansko! I put my superfeet insoles in one pair and an old unused cork Dansko insole in the other. I like them so much better than the mushy insoles they came with! Lots of room for my wide toes!

I have nerve pain in my foot from a foot surgery and have a very hard time finding shoes I can wear. These work better than most. There's a bit of a rocker bottom that takes some pressure off the forefoot and room for my bulky orthotic. Plus they look good with jeans and capris.

I got this shoe because I need nicer-than-sneakers to wear to work. Love the color and the manufacturing is high quality. There's good traction on the sole, but it feels a bit stiff. I would not think to work out in this shoe. Very comfortable otherwise!

These nice looking shoes feel a bit constricted compared to actual running shoes. I probably would have chosen something more comfortable if I had tried them on at a store. I guess I am ready to sacrificed a little comfort for style, because I am not sending these back!

Immediately comfortable. I bought them to walk around Europe for 2 weeks. For the price, however, I was expecting them to be better. I was thrilled that I had no blisters - but I didn't find them padded enough and my feet definitely were sore at the end of each day. For wearing them at home, they will be great.

Really cute shoe and I wanted to keep it but the band near the bunion area was problematic. So off it goes. It's more about my foot than about the shoe.

With good fit and great support, this is my new dance fitness and Zumba shoe. I also did a LOT of walking around San Francisco in these shoes: my feet didn't get tired, and my back injury wasn't particularly aggravated. The only drawback is the sole is quite smooth which makes it slippery on dance or gym floors. I do like the narrow profile, but wish it came in black without purple!
