I think these are a nice alternative to sneakers. Good for walking shoes. Not as springy as a sneaker, but more solid with good arch support. They look cute and are quite comfortable. When I travel I like to have a good walking shoe and just not into wearing sneakers. these fit the bill.

These rapidly became my favorite shoes when I found out how comfortable they were -- cute, too! I can wear them with jeans or church clothes, and my fussy foot doesn't complain. There's extra room in the toe bed and great support. I'm seriously tempted to buy an extra pair in case they're not always available. These are my "go-to" shoes. I love, love, love them!!

This shoe helped keep me comfortable while touring Italy last summer. Truer to the 9.5 size unlike other Dansko shoes which run closer to 10 in this size range.

Finally! I've always wanted a Euro-chic little sneaker to wear with skinny trousers, jeans, even casual skirts and dresses. Here it is: essentially the same sneaker that I saw all over Paris on chic women. I get compliments almost every time I wear them, from women and even from men. Never has Dansko been so fetching! The true reason I love these shoes is that my custom orthotic insoles fit easily: typically I need to get a size wider in order to do that, so I'm guessing that these shoes are a touch wider than your typical Dansko. I've worn these spring, summer, fall and winter, and just bought a backup pair.

I LOVE the look of these taupe suede Dansko Helen sneakers with my jeans! With my wider than average foot, I have found my soulmate with Dansko shoes! I almost exclusively buy Dansko now and the Helen is a great shoe! I found the website to be a little confusing on the display of the shoe, however. The pair I bought recently has elasticized laces that you don't tie. They have a plastic gizmo that you squeeze to pull the laces through to adjust their length. Some of the photos of this style don't show that plastic lace adjuster. I haven't found a way to hide it like some of the photos show. I just stick the loose loop below the laces so that it doesn't stick up. I like that it doesn't have the two loops and two loose ends hanging down that most sneakers with laces that tie have. And I like that the sole isn't white! While the Helen is probably not as wide as most of my other Dansko, it is still wide enough that my feet don't complain as they almost always do with other brands. I used to wonder why so many ladies had so many shoes. Since I've discovered Dansko, I've become one of "them"!

I love theses shoes! I really struggle to find a pair of shoes that have good support but are not too wide. I have a normal width foot and these fit great. Just from my experience, I am not sure these would fit a wide foot as well. I like the tie portion which help keep them on my feet very well. Would love to get another color.

Great show! Wore all day straight out of the box! This is my second pair. I also have the grey!

Just came back from a 2 week tour of Italy. I had my Fitbit on, and I averaged more than 16,000 steps a day. I brought with me 3 pairs of shoes/sneakers, and ended up wearing these sneakers every day. They are attractive, and make my feet look a whole lot smaller than a 10 1/2! These sneakers have great support, are great for those with "hammer toes,' and the lacings expand when your feet swell. They are perfect!!!

I am on my feet 8 hours plus a day. These shoes work wonders for my legs and feet. They are comfortable and durable. No more achy feet!

I was looking for a neutral comfortable tennis shoe and these fit the bill right out of the box. The color is a soft gray and they have been scotchguarded to resist staining. True to size, true to width, and cute.

I wear a 10.5, have a wide bunion area and narrow heel, and this size 42 fits perfectly. I have a high arch and this is just ok, plus it's not too heavy. I won't be wearing it in the snow or on ice, but otherwise it seems like a nice fall shoe, great for everyday wear and/or shopping. Bonus: bungee cord self tie!

These are so comfortable. I did not know Dansko made a shoe like this - love it! I would like to see this in more colors.

Finally, the arch support I've been looking for! These are almost as comfortable as running shoes, though I've only worn them for walking. And they look professional enough that I can wear them to the office. Sometimes I wear a size 8, sometimes 8.5. For these I needed the 8.5-9 and I lace them up tight. 8 was too small.

I really love this shoe. I bought it before leaving for a walking trip through Paris. It was so comfortable to walk all day, great support!

I think it's a wonderful shoe! I haven't found anything like it and I've looked around plenty. Trust me. I love the smooth sole of the shoe because it's wonderful on carpet. I also like to use them as a slip on after my knee surgery. I tie the shoes right before the eyelid at the top and that works wonderfully as a slip on.

I am on my feet all day for work with floors that are less than forgiving. I had been using Spencos in a pair of sneakers and it helped me a little, but I continued having lower back and pain on my heels. Bought these hoping they would help. They are great! I have not had lower back pain since I started wearing them (in Mid-February, now it is June). My only complaint is there is no way to tuck the elastic that really looks good-I hate the look of laces but this isn't a ton better looking.

I do a lot of walking as my main exercise. I tried many brands but this Dansko Helen felt the absolute best on my feet. I wear them all the time! And Zappos made it happen - they are the BEST to work with.

Cute enough shoe. Was just a bit wide for me. My foot slid around on top more than I was comfortable with.

These are THE BEST shoes ever! I have been a Dansko wearer for decades and have tried other of the athletic shoes they have made, but these are BY FAR the most comfy for standing and walking for hours at a time. Super easy to slip on and off, great traction and support, and I am getting a backup pair just in case this style gets replaced.

I also have these in the dark blue color and those felt fine out of the box, which is why I came back to buy the black ones! With these, however, I had to break them in for a few days. The first time I wore them, they rubbed a blister on my heel. After a few days of wearing a blister bandage, I managed to get them broken in--now they're great! They do seem a bit snug, though, so you might want to size up, especially if you plan to wear athletic socks with them.

These are outstanding quality and they fit PERFECTLY... My only complaint is the lacing system which is a sort of one-piece elastic. If you have a low arch and instep - you'll love them. But my instep is very, very high and thus the laces were always too tight even when they were at the loosest adjustment. Plus I never lace my shoes up to the top hole - again - the instep. But luckily, I was able to use my thread picker and remove the stitches holding the elastic stationery in one of the bottom lace loops, remove the elastic - and insert regular laces. (If you do this you MUST be very very careful and patient!) Now these fit as comfortably as my other two pair! (Got those in a shoe store before I discovered Zappos and their lovely occasional sales and fabulous service).

These were super-comfortable from the get-go, and I immediately wore them on a trip for 4 days straight. Because of the elastic sort of drawstring "tie," I think these look best with long pants.

Dansko's a new brand for me. I'm usually a 9N and wasn't sure whether to order a 39 or a 40. 40 works.
