Use these in the field and they are surprisingly cool and stay on my small arms. I dont know how i will wash them though.

These give a great cooling effect. I've paddled with them and road cycled with great arm coverage from the sun.
I'm worried that the palms will wear through in short time. I do appreciate the grips but it may not be enough.

...the tops of the sleeves occasionally pinch some. I also had some sliding which was weird because the tops felt pretty tight. I ordered the XL (not sure if there are separate women's sizes but ordered XL from the Women's gear page) to get the tiny bit of extra length. I don't have particularly heavy or muscular upper arms (I'm late 60's) but they were tighter than I wanted.
They are also billed as "cooling" which might be if you are sweating hard. I found them almost as hot as a sun shirt - the only thing different is no extra fabric layer over the torso. I did find them cooler if I poured water on the sleeves when I was in the sun. They were cooler in a breeze. My initial wearing of them was in Yellowstone where it is higher elevation, often very sunny and sometimes pretty windy. They did protect my arms and hands from sun exposure in the geyser basins which are very hot and reflective.
I will continue to wear them because they are very effective with sun blocking.

First the good. It protects my arms from the sun and keeps them relatively cool. Nice to wear with a short sleeved shirt and have the option of removing them. Makes for versatility without having to commit to a long or short sleeved shirt. Nice not to have to slather sunscreen on the arms. They did the job of protecting from the sun and the Xylitol feels good and cool - we will see how the holds up after several washings.
The bad is that there are two sizes S/M and L/XL. I fit in the M/L category or plain L. I am stuck with too big or too small. I figured would get the smaller size (S/M) so that they didn't slide down or droop, but they are too tight to be called comfortable and difficult to pull up far enough on my arms to feel fully covered. What ever happened to S, M and L?

I love my OR Activeice Sun Sleeves. They are so versatile and expand my wardrobe. I use mine cycling and hiking. In both situations I can leave my long sleeve top at home, which lowers my pack weight. I also love that I use less sunscreen, keeping me less oily and greasy.
Pros: Versatile, lightweight
Cons: None to mention
Overall: A key piece of clothing that everyone should have. Super versatile, lightweight, and packable. I wouldn't leave home without them.

Started using these when I wear T shirts to reduce sun exposure on my arms. ActiveIce works! The cooling effect is more comfortable than long sleeves.
I wasn't sure how to interpret the glove sizing chart for sleeves. S/M is generally comfortable for my small frame, but the thumb holes are a little tight. I measure 8" around the knuckles.

OR ActiveIce Sun Sleeves work well protecting the wearer from harmful UV rays, while keeping cool with ActiveIce technology. This product works well for everyday use, as well as any outdoor activity from a leisurely hike to mountaineering! No more sticky arms from sunscreen when tromping through the wilderness!
Pros
Blocks UV as designed
Comfortable/slight compression
Good option for layering
Cooling effect works well
Cons
Stitching not the highest quality
Stains don't all wash out
High price point
This product is a great alternative for people who dont like to wear sunscreen every day, but still need protection from the suns destructive rays. I have found them comfortable and reliable, and now rarely need to use sunscreen on my arms.
Built from an innovative fabric that actually cools you as it wicks away perspiration, and providing UPF 50+ protection from the sun's harsh rays, the ActiveIce Sun Sleeves are a must-have for paddlers, trail runners, hot-weather backpackers and anyone else who spends serious time in warm, dry, sun-baked environments.

Thought I would use these on the river more. My hands and arms get cooked on backcountry packrafting trips. I'm also a trail runner. I simply just haven't opted for these over a long-sleeved full-coverage shirt thus far. Thought I would. Seems great in concept, but not sure they beat out a lightweight shirt. Not yet anyway.

I have been using these sleeves for trail running. They are great for areas that are fully exposed to the elements (sun, wind, brush). I like the top of the hand coverage. I purchased the L/XL, as that was all that was available at the time, but they don't fit as snug as I would like. I may have to try another size.
