These run very large. I really wish they fit or came in a smaller size because they are so cute/cool- looking

If you are into classic sneakers these New Signature Jack Purcell's are a must. These are made like the 1970's with thick high rubber foxing but with new Nike insole technology making them one of the most comfortable long wearing sneaker ever made. if you are looking for lite weight you wont find it in these beefy rubber king of the sneakers.

I like this shoe but its not as good as the original Jack Purcell's from a few years ago (the ones they made with metal lace caps, lined canvas, etc) but it is better than the current non-signature oxfords. This version runs slightly longer than the standard version. The zoom air insole is nice, but not actually as comfortable as the original Jacks. The canvas is heavier, but again not as comfortable as the original Jacks which were lined with a soft material. Finally the rubber is shinier, but hopefully that should dull over time. Overall the shoe looks narrower, which is good, although it doesn't feel that way. I ordered a 13 and they run longer than the 13 of the standard version I was replacing. Sadly no 12.5 to move down too. Its not uncomfortable, I just wonder if a better fit could have happened. That's a lot of criticism for a shoe that is better looking and more comfortable then the standard Jack Oxford, but for an extra money I was hoping for something closer to the original Jack Purcell's, which were great. Since the originals are gone, this is the next best thing.

Very nice well made sneaker. Classic looks. One caution: the over built toe cap makes them pinch just a bit more than Converse all stars; otherwise they have a similar fit. I normally size down a half-size in All Stars, but get my normal size in Jack Purcells for that reason. Can't go wrong with these, they look great with everything, from shorts to suits.

Now on my second pair of Jack Purcells. I love the style, especially compared to the traditional Chuck Taylors: they just look snappier, without any of the dubstep-bro subtext of, say, Adidas' Rod Lavers. I work in a casual tech environment and pair these with cuffed slim linen or cotton slacks for a slightly more put-together look during the summer.
They provide more support, and they last longer; I live in the city and walk everywhere I go, and I got about one season of wear out of my last pair before they finally started to fall apart.

Love these sneakers. A bit of old world tradition, yet totally stylish now. I wear a size 6 in shoes but needed a 6 1/2 in this sneaker because my toes were cramped. I also like that the jack Purcells have removable insoles. I usually wear dr sholls inserts in my sneakers for extra arch support and heel cushion ...and I can't do that in the chuck Taylor's because the insole is glued in. This shoe looks great with jeans, shorts, summer skirts ....it's very versatile. I own 2 other colors. You can't go wrong.

I ordered this style and the $80 tumbled leather version, both in white, with the intent of comparing returning one pair. Quite honestly, I was expecting to prefer the leather version due to the subtle design differences and the uniqueness of the leather (and how much easier it would be to clean). It was clear straight out of the box, however, that this pair was superior. The design is sleeker and more classic-looking and well-made. The Nike insoles definitely make these more comfortable and supportive than my regular Chuck Taylors that I wear very rarely, and I look forward to wearing them on my long treks across campus this spring!

Out of the box they were pretty narrow. After the initial first wear, they spread out a bit and became extremely comfortable. They are very low profile and work well with most outfits. I thought the blue strip on the toe wouldn't work but it doesn't really make a difference. A great casual shoe with lots of support.

The Jack Purcell Signature Ox is definitely a return in quality to the the Jack Purcells of old (unlike the past two years or so, where the quality has been noticeable inferior). However, the Signature Ox is more elongated than past Jack Purcells.

Classics and good for casual parties. Definitely order a 1/2 size down. I wear a size 11, but in this sneaker take a 10 1/2.

Great shoe! I normally wear a 9.5 in a dress shoe, but for the Jack Purcell Signature Ox, a 10 fits me best. I also wear size 10 in regular Converse. This is a great shoe that wears well with jeans and shorts. It is worth the extra money for the Signature version, which includes a removable Nike insole.

I love the shoes. They are true to size - do not order a smaller size in belief that they tend to run half size bigger.

Great "dress" sneakers which go well with dress pants. If you need to be on your feet but look slightly more formal, this totally works. Not great for walking long distance. Rubs a little in the back, which should go away with time.

Love my Converse Jacks! They are just what I was looking for. Comfortable and they fit great. Take a half size down from your size.

Converse reccomended sizing up from my typical Chuck Taylor size. However, following conventional shoe sizing, this model felt about 1/2 a size too large. I went back to the Chuck Taylor sizing and all is well. Very comfortable with the Nike Air padding, and the materials/construction are nicer than your average Converse model.

Great shoe. Great improvements on the classic. Break in time was minimal. Sizing was true. Very comfortable. I was able to wear them out of the box all day. Obvious higher quality than Converse All Stars.

These classic deck/sneakers are exactly as they are pictured. Also, the fit is true to size (if wearing socks I recommend thin shorties). Dress em' up for "Smart Day Casual" with a Spring dress/skirt. For "Everyday Casual" they go great with shorts, rolled up jeans or Capris & T-shirt. If they get a bit dirty/scuffed-up on the rubber, I easily remove scuff marks with a wet (spray '409' All Purpose Cleaner' onto) paper towel and the Purcell looks as good as new!

Big changes from old Jack Purcell! First the cotton duck is heavier and stiffer than the 3 other pairs of Purcell's I have. The insole is thicker and you can tell Nike had some input here. The style is great as usual and I can see me wearing these regularly although I cannot say I will be wearing them without socks as I do routinely with my old Jack Purcells. They may be okay to do that with once the heavier canvas breaks in but not right out of the box. I do like the herringbone sole though better than the smooth original. Overall a very nice sneaker.

Definitely runs big. First time EVER that a size 13 was too big for me! And I have been buying 13's for over 40 years! Only complaint style-wise is that I don't like the rubber front going straight across the top, rather than curved like the traditional Purcell. The stark contrast between the bright white rubber and the dark brown leather is already a bit off-putting, but adding the extra rubber going strait across almost makes the shoe look like a clown shoe! Hmmmm...after all of this, now wondering why I gave the shoe 4 stars!!!!

All things considered, it's a good shoe. Good fit, and looks stylish, especially when new..
Unfortunately, it falls apart pretty quickly. After about two months, the sidewalls were starting to come apart, and a year in, the top of the shoe is starting to detach at the seams and the interior is coming apart. I generally expect my shoes to last for longer than a year.

Well built. Larger than marked. Hefty white sole a bold statement against the black. Planning to exchange for a smaller size in white for a more subtle style.

I purchased these on March 7th, '15. I've always wanted a pair and loved the new improvements. Out of the box, they looked great, fit well, but did take a while to break in. Also, they squeaked when I walked. Didn't matter what kind of socks, squeaky for a few months. Then today, I went to put them on and noticed the rubber that runs around the shoe separating from the sole in three different places. I superglued the worst spot and contacted both Converse and Zappos. Still no word from Converse, but the amazing folks at Zappos offered to exchange or refund my order. Since they took quite a while to break in, I told them I'd mend them myself and just wanted to let them know about the problem. Not taking no for an answer, they refunded me anyways for my trouble. Great company. Superb customer service.

I really wanted to like these. Super cute, but OW. I wear 8.0WW in Keds Champions, can usually do 8.5W in most brands. The wide width pinched -- I didn't even put the other side on.

Almost a great shoe except the fancy new insert has a little air pad that is supposed to be under the ball of the foot. Instead the hard plastic seam of it was under the ball of my foot which is very unfortunate. Otherwise I loved the shoes. Can't justify the price for uncomfortable sneakers though.

Similar to another review found sole separating from the shoe within two weeks. That shouldn't happen at this price point. Zappos was great about it - excellent customer service.
